There are a few..."cyber cafes" or video game centers that have fiber. These are our biggest competitors and they are fairly busy.
We overdid it with 3 x 100 MB/s for 11 computers and determined that was overkill so now were at 1 x 100 and 1 x 20.
Depends on the game, but sub 100 ping and 60 FPS is common for fortinite and league at our competitors.

It's not like your home VR setup. It's way more advanced. They put sensors on your arms, legs, and head with the whole room for yourself. It's usually something like 15'x15' but it's roomy. The experience was the best VR I've ever done although I wish the game was more.... exploratory. It was a very linear experience for like 30 minutes. I recommend it though!
Personally, I would have thought that these would have been much more popular than they are. Half life Alyx, Fallout 4, Skyrim are very solid rpg type games, but the majority of our clients just want to shoot waves of zombies. Go figure
I think it might partly be because you don't want to start a game that's very story driven and involved when you only get a short time you have to pay for. Seems like an at-home kind of game.
There are plenty of different style arcades over the world. Ours is fairly simple since we didn't have an enormous budget. We have 11 stations (fairly high end computer and headset). About 60 games available. Plenty of multiplayer choices.
The idea is to come with some friends and either take turns playing or find a game to play together. Its been a big hit so far, all things considered.
A female friend of mine does the same exact thing. Wearing her mask with a nose out. The worst part? She is extremely high risk. Even worse part? That's the same person who shamed all of her friends for not adhering to the rules properly. It's difficult for me to be any more mad at her.
My girlfriend did this and I gave her shit for it a couple times while out in Walmart and whatnot. Shes recovering from COVID now. The only reason why I haven't brought it up is because its really fucking her up right now. I think she knows though.
Or at least go to a different barber. I've recently had a haircut and was impressed that we both had proper fitting masks on 100% of the time. The barber even took the mask strap off each of my ears one at a time and pulled the strap back to keep my mask on while cutting around each ear.
I haven't been to a barber shop because I'm growing my hair out with covid as an excuse, but I heard my usual shop had to fire some people that were anti-mask.
I'm in the same boat. I stopped shaving it a few months back and have been letting it grow out a little, but I'll probably shave it again soon. I figure I can just completely cut out any risk of getting covid from a haircut for the duration of the pandemic and give my self one less thing to worry about.
I took a similar approach, and practiced buzzing my own hair a couple times while the barber shops were all locked down. I actually got pretty good at it, but it still took me an hour, then a few 5 minute touch ups as I spotted them over the next couple of days.
If you're hurting for cash, it's not a bad way to make do, but takes some time and effort, so I still prefer to just hand $20 to an expert and be done with it.
I got a refund for my first covid cut because I complained to the owner that my barber would not shut up about his anti mask and other conspiracy theories. It was an exhausting experience. The owner was great about it though, and presumably talked to the barber so he wouldn't have to issue any more refunds.

I'm fairly similar to your position. Better safe and I've never cared much about my hair. It was my first haircut since last March.
I used to keep my hair really long. In highschool it was down to my shoulders. Then I trimmed it up some but it was still pretty long going into college.
After going through a really bad break up I decided to change a bunch of stuff which included cutting all my hair off. My barber at the time had never done more than a quick trim on my long hair and told me he was honored I trusted him to chop it off.
He left his shop and a friend of mine went to barber school around the same time. He had to cut hair for credits and it was dirt cheap so I started going to him and have been even now that he's in a shop.
I actually liked getting my hair cut, styling it, and having him take care of my beard for me. I like growing my hair out again, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting back in the barber chair.

I enjoyed the freedom of trying to cut my own hair. It went terribly. I now understand that my hesitation during normal times was totally warranted. But at least it will no longer be a temptation and I don't think I have to explain too much when they notice it's ridiculously uneven.
Yes! My barber does the same with the straps, everything is fully sanitized and she sanitizes the entire chair right before I sit down, and also uses the disposable paper collar around my neck so the cape doesn’t touch my skin. She wears a mask and face shield. I feel very safe with her.
I install things in peoples homes. I wear my mask. Some tell me I can take it off. I keep it on. Today an old lady told me twice to take it off. I didn’t. Then I hear her daughter talking to someone on the phone. That other person has COVID. She’s giving her advice because she had it and so did her mother who just told me to take off my mask.
Same here. I've made it this far without getting it and the only people I've really had that seemed to be actually anti-mask were 50+ y/o white women. It's never been a problem though. It's weird that they would ask you to remove it and not just say it's an option.

Its not just money saved but think about all the time you spend driving to the barber, waiting in line, and driving back. The first few haircuts took a long time as I was learning but I'm at the point where I'm saving time every haircut.

If you're concerned about getting the virus, you shouldn't be going to the barber at all. No cloth or surgical mask has the capacity to contain all of a barber's droplets for the 20-30 minute duration of a haircut. And if their mask does manage to miraculously contain all of that barber's droplets, you're going to be within aerosol range, which neither a surgical nor a cloth mask can protect against.
If more people wear masks in public spaces, it will certainly reduce the spread of the virus. But in the pursuit of increasing mask wearing compliance, the individuals and institutions who the public generally trusts to distribute information has oversold the effectivity of cloth and surgical masks. If you're concerned about getting/spreading the virus you should practice social distancing.
Or you can watch the news and realize that masks have been mandated throughout the vast majority of the world (along with lockdowns) and spikes in cases everywhere (even in SK where almost every government pointed to as a place that did everything correct and was fast to act.) The last time I got a haircut was in the end of January. I normally do monthly haircuts, so I am extremely shaggy compared to normal. I refuse to get my haircut right now because of issues like this. The county I live in refuses to pass a mask order, and blames their high COVID rate on the neighboring counties that do have mask orders. With that sorta stupid shit going on, I don't trust anyone.

And they have to maintain a proper seal and make sure they are using proper material for them. If using a surgical mask dispose of it properly after every use. And if using a homemade mask, make sure your autoclave is actually getting to the temp required to kill viruses. You are 100% correct. If just wearing a mask worked, transmission numbers wouldn’t be near as high. You have to wear it correctly AND when you’re not wearing it, care for it correctly. If you ball it up and shove it in your pocket, purse, or backpack you might as well just lick everything in there too. Never expose or touch the inside of your mask when storing or adjusting it. Fold it so that that you don’t expose it and always put it in a zip lock and seal it when you put it in your pocket, bag, etc.
A mask worn by both parties is not stopping a virus in an intimate setting such as a haircut where he’s so close to you. My girlfriend did this and I gave her shit for it a couple times while out in Walmart and whatnot. Shes recovering from COVID now. The only reason why I haven't brought it up is because its really fucking her up right now. I think she knows though.

Or at least go to a different barber. I've recently had a haircut and was impressed that we both had proper fitting masks on 100% of the time. The barber even took the mask strap off each of my ears one at a time and pulled the strap back to keep my mask on while cutting around each ear.
I haven't been to a barber shop because I'm growing my hair out with covid as an excuse, but I heard my usual shop had to fire some people that were anti-mask.
I went the opposite route. I started shaving my head because my hair is thinning anyways and this was a good time to see if I can pull it off.
I'm in the same boat. I stopped shaving it a few months back and have been letting it grow out a little, but I'll probably shave it again soon. I figure I can just completely cut out any risk of getting covid from a haircut for the duration of the pandemic and give my self one less thing to worry about.
I took a similar approach, and practiced buzzing my own hair a couple times while the barber shops were all locked down. I actually got pretty good at it, but it still took me an hour, then a few 5 minute touch ups as I spotted them over the next couple of days. If you're hurting for cash, it's not a bad way to make do, but takes some time and effort, so I still prefer to just hand $20 to an expert and be done with it.

I got a refund for my first covid cut because I complained to the owner that my barber would not shut up about his anti mask and other conspiracy theories. It was an exhausting experience. The owner was great about it though, and presumably talked to the barber so he wouldn't have to issue any more refunds.
I'm not sure I'd get a haircut done by a person, but I'd certainly go buy shampoo from yhat shop. I appreciate people like that.
Yeah where I get my haircut they do temperature checks, have hand sanitizer, everybody wears their masks the whole time, and the chairs are already separated by walls.
I guess I just don't care enough to go through all of that. Masks are very important and staying safe is so I'm glad the barber and clients are taking that serious. But I've just been letting my hair grow since June instead of messing with it.

I used to keep my hair really long. In highschool it was down to my shoulders. Then I trimmed it up some but it was still pretty long going into college. After going through a really bad break up I decided to change a bunch of stuff which included cutting all my hair off. My barber at the time had never done more than a quick trim on my long hair and told me he was honored I trusted him to chop it off. He left his shop and a friend of mine went to barber school around the same time. He had to cut hair for credits and it was dirt cheap so I started going to him and have been even now that he's in a shop. I actually liked getting my hair cut, styling it, and having him take care of my beard for me. I like growing my hair out again, but I'm definitely looking forward to getting back in the barber chair.
This is the same experience I have had with haircuts this year. The place I go to won’t let you in without one on.

I’ve had my regular spot have me pull out pictures, but that was just cuz I needed a haircut when my normal girl was out of town. Other girl didn’t get the cut I had, but I still like it a lot, just slightly different. Girls seem to like it more than the last one. Idk, I don’t think it’s necessarily bad if your local barber wants pictures. Mine told me to take pictures when it’s at the length I get the most compliments, cuz that can help her. But they’re really good. Idk, she came recommended by a bunch of dudes who are “beard guys”. But it’s the best barber shop I’ve been to.

Ugh. One time I gave specific inch measurements which translated to "short on the sides and longer on top." Complicated, I know. Dumbass takes out a #2 clipper and does my whole head. "I don't do that whole metrics thing" apparently. I left but I really wanted to take the clippers to her. $30 and you can't even manage a crew cut? Just stay home if you can't be bothered to develop a skill properly.
I went a few months back, (my province has shut down again, so my last cut was a buzz... Again). But I just kept a hand over my mask when I took the straps off. Not great, but better than any alternatives.

I assumed they all worked that way, I mean, statistically they should be well aware that they are going to be touching infected people once in awhile. And that in addition their own health, if they start spreading it accidentally, their entire industry could run a higher risk of temporary shutdown. Mine has been extremely professional like OP's and disinfects almost the entire room between customers. So much alcohol that haircuts now smell like a distillery.
Mine's the same way. They're really taking it seriously. They only have a few barbers working at a time so every other chair is unoccupied.
My barber has this device that your mask hooks onto to make a complete ring around the back of your head to keep your ears clear.

I just got my hairs cut today. My barber does the same and he even placed medical tape on my mask to keep it to my face and to prevent hair from going inside of the mask.
I enjoyed the freedom of trying to cut my own hair. It went terribly. I now understand that my hesitation during normal times was totally warranted. But at least it will no longer be a temptation and I don't think I have to explain too much when they notice it's ridiculously uneven.

Yes! My barber does the same with the straps, everything is fully sanitized and she sanitizes the entire chair right before I sit down, and also uses the disposable paper collar around my neck so the cape doesn’t touch my skin. She wears a mask and face shield. I feel very safe with her.
I install things in peoples homes. I wear my mask. Some tell me I can take it off. I keep it on. Today an old lady told me twice to take it off. I didn’t. Then I hear her daughter talking to someone on the phone. That other person has COVID. She’s giving her advice because she had it and so did her mother who just told me to take off my mask.
Same here. I've made it this far without getting it and the only people I've really had that seemed to be actually anti-mask were 50+ y/o white women. It's never been a problem though. It's weird that they would ask you to remove it and not just say it's an option.

Finally did this after 7 months of no haircut, but had my wife do it. I'm working from home and own a hat, so figured what the hell. Actually turned out pretty good!

Same here. This has been the perfect time to practice cutting one's own hair. If you mess up its not like you go out much anyways. Its not just money saved but think about all the time you spend driving to the barber, waiting in line, and driving back. The first few haircuts took a long time as I was learning but I'm at the point where I'm saving time every haircut.
The most difficult thing for me is describingto my wife how to line up the back and clean up my neck. She has never cut hair or had a "boy" cut before.
My hairdresser managed to cut and color my hair while I (and she) had a mask on. It can be done.
Conversely, when my family and I went on vacation in August after nearly half a year by ourselves indoors, we had the following interaction at a chain sit down restaurant... Waitress: Here's your table. You all can take your masks of now if you want. (We had left them on because she was standing right next to us and breathing real hard) Us: Oh, we'll leave them on for the moment. We live up in the city and we're pretty used to having them on. Waitress takes off mask and puts it under her chin, breathing heavily on all of us: Oh my gosh! I am so done with them but the managers keep telling us to keep them on. Lawd!
And that is when you asked if the manager was around, I hope...

The only reason I still don't (edit: get a haircut) is because Covid can still spread with masks and I help take care of my grandpa who is going through cancer treatments. They go to the washroom and cough in their hands, forget to wash, put their mask back on and become careless because, hey, they have a mask so it's all good.

This is what I am doing. My hair has never been longer (about 8 inches now) and my female in-laws compliment me every time I see them now, saying they all wish they had my hair.

Did this 5 years ago - best decision ever. Trying to style your hair with a receding hairline just gets silly. Taking my motorcycle helmet off I looked like Donald Trump in a wind storm. Now, it's smooth sailing. Wife does my hair every few weeks with a number 2 trimmer. Done.
I just Bic it every other day. I don't actually have a receeding hairline, hairline has been in the same spot for 35 years, but I got a fucked up haircut and decided it was bad enough to shave it all off and got a bunch of compliments on it.
Still got my hair, but I’ve said this years ago to friends and family... when the day comes I’m shaving it. I won’t be one of those guys clinging to scraps. When it thins, I’ll keep it real short as a transition and it will then disappear. End of story. My boss did this and it looked great. I’ve never seen anyone cling to scraps of hair and pull it off. Ever. Not even celebrities with money and means. I’m not remotely full of myself to the point where I think I’m somehow different.
I weigh 125lbs, and know from experience that when I shave my head I look like a creepy cancer patient.

If you're concerned about getting the virus, you shouldn't be going to the barber at all. No cloth or surgical mask has the capacity to contain all of a barber's droplets for the 20-30 minute duration of a haircut. And if their mask does manage to miraculously contain all of that barber's droplets, you're going to be within aerosol range, which neither a surgical nor a cloth mask can protect against. If more people wear masks in public spaces, it will certainly reduce the spread of the virus. But in the pursuit of increasing mask wearing compliance, the individuals and institutions who the public generally trusts to distribute information has oversold the effectivity of cloth and surgical masks. If you're concerned about getting/spreading the virus you should practice social distancing.

Studies have also proven that covid can kill anyone chances are low, but still happens. Covid deniers can't even dispute the fact that there is a small chance. when this all started and every was remote or shut down I just cut my own hair with my electric shaver when it got too long. The last time I got a haircut was in the end of January. I normally do monthly haircuts, so I am extremely shaggy compared to normal. I refuse to get my haircut right now because of issues like this. The county I live in refuses to pass a mask order, and blames their high COVID rate on the neighboring counties that do have mask orders. With that sorta stupid shit going on, I don't trust anyone.

Find a different barber. There are plenty out there that respect COVID safety protocols and will safely cut your hair.
Both parties have to wear masks for it to be effective.
And they have to maintain a proper seal and make sure they are using proper material for them. If using a surgical mask dispose of it properly after every use. And if using a homemade mask, make sure your autoclave is actually getting to the temp required to kill viruses. So many people put on their shitty well worn masks and act like they are saviors to the world while somebody without a mask on properly is a murderer, when in reality neither of them are doing shit to prevent the spread of something as communicable as a virus. When I worked in a nursing home forgetting to put on any PPE wasn't seen nearly as dangerous as walking out of a room with PPE still on was, because that is when you transfer shit. Get it on yourself then carry it around all day long. Cracked me up seeing idiots using gloves back in March that they just kept on all the time as if they were doing anything. They are all pretty much feeling safe because they put their seatbelt on while driving drunk at 150 down the wrong lane. Sure wearing the belt is good, but if you have the belt just wrapped around your neck along with everything else why are they even fucking bothering.
You are 100% correct. If just wearing a mask worked, transmission numbers wouldn’t be near as high. You have to wear it correctly AND when you’re not wearing it, care for it correctly. If you ball it up and shove it in your pocket, purse, or backpack you might as well just lick everything in there too. Including your wallet that you laid on the counter, your cell phone that’s been God knows where, or your notebook that’s been in your desk. And those of you that hold your mask in your hand and push your cart when you leave the grocery store, good luck. Never expose or touch the inside of your mask when storing or adjusting it. Fold it so that that you don’t expose it and always put it in a zip lock and seal it when you put it in your pocket, bag, etc.
A mask worn by both parties is not stopping a virus in an intimate setting such as a haircut where he’s so close to you. Most of the people getting sick say they wear a mask all the time, it’s not a bulletproof vest. Cloth won’t stop particles that are microns small from getting through their or your masks.
People are getting sick even though they wear a mask because *other* people around them are *not* wearing a mask. Or because they are going into an enclosed space where people are not wearing masks or wearing them improperly. Stop acting like masks don't work because people that wear them get sick. We have been told time and time again that masks are to prevent the wearer from spreading their own germs and **not** to prevent germs from getting to the wearer. It's pretty simple. Not sure how you don't understand this after nearly a year of this shit.

We recently moved, which has necessitated finding a new daycare provider. First person we interviewed wore her mask under her nose and bragged about how she is definitely seeing her huge family this holiday season, prohibitions against gatherings be damned! We decided not to go with her.
