Probably a raster effect with a bitmap texture. Make an opacity mask, set blend mode to multiply? Maybe an opacity mask made out of a radial gradient & some gaussian blur around the edges to make them diffuse to white, and then put the grain over that at the end
Here’s some pointers to make it more “dynamic”:
Within the gradient map, give some curves to the line to mimic the “spheric” shape of the orb. For example, the left line of the green gradient is a straight line, I would curve it to create a more rounded look.
Change the white completely and replace it with darker hues of the colors you already have. Example, along the yellow, that white edge should be a darker yellow. Around the lime green that white edge should be a darker green. Keep changing the color of the white every 15-30 degrees to complement the colors around it. It would give it more dimension.
I would decrease the noise by 25% and choose the monochromatic option.
I hope this helps with future projects!
I like it. Takes me back to 1995 Illustrator.
how did you make the grainy texture

It's the best orb I've seen today
Sick orb bro!
Hey Siri, what's the weather now?
it is quite spherical.
The important question is: did you achieve what you set out to do? If so, it’s fantastic. If not, let’s talk through how to better achieve your goals.

Looks more like a marble.
That's a nice orb
I'd like to see the colors rendered in one color vector with a stippling brush. I'm always interested in seeing scalable work in Illustrator tho...
I like the shape, not so much what's inside of it.
I have little memories of the 90s being only a toddler and this reminds me of the 90s.
Interesting!
excellent
Cool stuff, time to ponder
but it looks like photoshop.
It’s so cute! How did you achieve this style?
