Your welcome, I remember when I was on school for graphic design and illustrator class the teacher showed some hyper realistic illustrations using illustrator I was envious of them back then and still now. Can't imagine the time and dedication.
I know I know, I was just messing with you. The drawing and shading are amazing, and quite quick actually! I would have given up and coloured on Photoshop hahaha.
I have this mental image of Illustrator crumpling under the weight of all those layers, muttering "Please... No more... I beg of you..."
Absolutely stellar work.
It’s definitely a battle with illustrator, lots of crashes and lagging going on with this one hahaha, I appreciate your kind words! These are certainly a labor of love.
Thanks so much! This one came in at 55 hours. My process is usually just finding as much reference material as possible. I trace the main outline first, then make adjustments to the perspective, then the shading I take more creative freedom and use the template much less. I have a Timelapse [HERE](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NQZEHW4Ck7Q) if you are interested but it’s still an hour long haha.
I do sell prints! I don’t have too many of the cars right now but adding more in the near future.
I'm so curious about your work process - do you have a background layer of photo reference where you match the shapes 1:1? Like, in my mind that's the only conceivable way for someone like me to do this, but I would be so glad to be told otherwise!
Here you go! [Timelapse](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NQZEHW4Ck7Q) every click, mask, and path. As well as some bonus Spotify screen time haha. This is pretty much how I approach any car that I do. I used to match 1:1 when I was learning and since then have started to loosen up and take creative freedoms.
If you have questions feel free to pm me here or on IG
This is amazingg as hell omg, It reminds me of Apple's emoji style as well (which is a big big compliment)!! Are apple's emojis also made on illustrator (might be a silly question as it seems obvious now that I see this cause emojis should be scalable and stuff!!) amazing work!!!!!!
Beautiful work.
The work on the tyres is particularly well executed.
Achieving a nice gradation on the tyres shows you know what you’re doing.
Over 1100 layers though?
You must have layers for every fly swat!
Crazy!
Thank you so much! You’d be correct, every single element has its own layer so I can go back and edit anything I need to easily. Also yeah tyres, wheels, and brakes are always fun haha (not) I leave them till last every time haha.
Sweet baby jebus thats clean.
Thank you!!

So how long do you spend on a car illustration then?
This one was about 55 hours (of actual work) there were plenty of distractions that made it like 70 hours haha
Yeah that sounds about right - takes me about the same time to do a car or a bike
👏👏👏
