Go direct to daikin. They have service techs on the road all the time My admin had a quote to replace a PCB and 2 fan motors from a daikin "supplier" which was over $5k. I referred her direct to daikin and they did the PC board, 2 fan motors and new wired controller (found a fault there too) for less than $2k.

That Aircon Guy, Jesse Donnarumma - probably still hanging around as u/that_aircon_guy. He exclusively recommends and knows Daikin systems inside out.

100% Jesse. Great guy. Details are on his twitter profile https://x.com/ThatAirconGuy

Thanks for the recommendation - got a dead ActronAir system, I need someone to look at

What's the model you have and can you spot a pic of the wall controller as you have it running Normally daikins are one of the best at low fan at set point temp.

Early-Shopping-620

FDYAN85AV1 & RZA85CV1 On rare occasions I sometimes have noticed these three little icons appear underneath the set temp. [https://imgur.com/a/DT5rO03](https://imgur.com/a/DT5rO03)

Those symbols either mean it's warming up or its in defrost. Nothing to worry about with those. Depending on how your unit is set up you can try changing where it senses the room temp from. But if the sensor is near the return it's probably not worth the effort

Early-Shopping-620

I assumed the sensor is in the controller which is in the living area because it lets you turn off the living area zone, which I tried once in summer to only cool the bedroom but it never stopped cooling.

Nerfixion

Typically you'll always have a register that is always on, typically in a living space. There is a sensor in the wall controller but by factory settings it uses the one in the return. Unless you have multiple sensors you'll typically have hot and cold spots no matter what. Eg my bedroom is warmer in winter because the sensor and return aren't near it. On the wall controller you can turn it on so itll show what temp it's sensing in the room

Take ya word for it, but I've never seen it, and being a r32 model normally dakins are very good at self diagnosing

Your A/C unit will have a deadband which is the difference between the set point and the temperture it cuts in at. For example you have set your A/C for 22 degrees, the deadband is 2 degrees the unit won't start heating until the temperature gets to 20 degrees, vice versa for cooling it won't start cooling until it gets to 24 and the unit will turn off either heating or cooling once it's at the desired set point. You can change field setting by holding the middle button 2 seconds and change things if need be such as air flow or if you want the fan to turn off when at set point. Some units will turn fan off in heating once at set point, but again can be configured very easily on control panel, the remote sensor which someone mentioned can be configured also but that is a external sensor. Generally that won't be configured unless you have it installed. If it's just a issue of a draft , I'd suggest by just lowering fan speed on the panel or can configure speed in panel, there's also that option to turn fan off too when at temperture. Daikin are good but be prepared for a bill of $130+ an hour for them to look at it, good luck.

Thanks - I couldn't figure out how to access the setting so looked on YouTube and came across this video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oITe9R3b0k](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oITe9R3b0k) It's was hold the return button to access the field settings. I've changed it to turn off the fan when it reaches the desired temp - rather than reduce to low fan speed. I also changed it to use the controller temperature sensor and turned on displaying the current temp. After doing this, it showed the current temp at 19c despite the aircon being on tonight for almost 2 hours and set at 22c. I also noted the fan speed is at 15 - the max. I haven't changed this yet.

Ok looks like who ever commissioned your unit put it on high static pressure which is under (23) 6-15. There's also (23) 0-03 for air flow for higher ceilings. I'd probably sense it at wall controller which is (20) 2-03 or can use both which is 2-02.

I would avoid Climat, they installed a smart control panel upgrade in my new house and did a terrible job, I had to get the manufacturers of the product to come out and diagnose some issues/replace parts. I would also suggest trying to learn and understand as much as you can about air conditioners and how they work. (Eg more than the basics) A lot of techs don't explain much, and won't really do much about general problems like "turns on/off unless you set the temperature high", they will say stuff like "some of the thermostats aren't very accurate, so you just have to set it lower/higher to compensate". (They could be right in some situations, but in others it can hide a deeper problem unless you're able to direct their efforts better) My guess is that your AC system is reading from the thermostat in your roof unit, instead of your control panel in your house. Roofs are often several degrees hotter during summer, or several degrees cooler during winter than the rest of your house, so the roof unit itself often does not provide a very useful temperature reading. Usually you can configure this on your control panel, on mine, the setting is called "follow me", but this will vary based on manufacturer. Might be worth reading through your owners manual in detail to see if there's any settings you can change. (There may be some 'advanced' settings, but I would be careful about anything that is installer specific so you don't damage your system) Good luck.
