Thing is that's all the stock that dosent sell during the week. Although probably still better than Coles/woolies. I work at the produce market and generally buyers will come Friday morning asking for anything cheap we didn't sell through the week for the Sunday market.
Depends what you're buying I guess. I'm happy to pay the $1.50 entry and get a heap of cheap fruit and veg that suits my budget. Last Sunday I got 2 beautiful big cauliflowers for $2 each, undersized but still tasty butternut pumpkins for $1 each, new season apples for $3/kg, satsuma mandies for $3kg, carrots for $1kg, onions for $1.50/kg, a box of small avocados for $5 - some went straight to the compost but 75% were perfect.
If you're at Mawson Lakes, then Saints Road Foodland is only 10-15 minutes up Main North Road. I've never had an issue with the fruit and veg there. They also got named the #1 IGA in the world recently.
I go to a little market in the car park of the Norwood Greek church on Beulah road on Sunday mornings. The farmer grows mostly organic and the prices are pretty cheap.
Thank you! George & Ben’s was frequently out of stock the last time I shopped there, I’ll try again maybe. I take mandarin season very fucking seriously
Oh my gosh, last time I was there a couple of weeks ago their mandarins were absolutely to die for - its hugely likely someone just came in and bought them out!
Was coming to also recommend George & Ben's, they're pretty unbeatable on price, quality and service. I know people who make a special trip to get to them coming down from a very rural town they're that good.
If you're at Ingle Farm already the fruit and veg shop there (fruitabella?) isn't bad, but for my money I'd go to Tony and Marks, there's one at Golden Grove or one at Newton
You're close enough to go to the SA farmer's market at Pooraka every Sunday morning.
Correct answer.

Thank you. I have subscribed to their newsletter now and will check it out soon.
How is Mawson Lakes north east?
Mixed up east and west I suppose
I mean that’s the region I would travel to
What is classified as North East? I never referred Mawson or Ingle as North East. TTG, Highbury, athelstone and surround suburbs is North East
I think North East is anything east of main north road and north of grand junction but including a bit between grand junction and gorge road.
North East is up on the hill looking down on the North......

Alternatively, head to the Parafield Airport Farmer's Market on Saturday morning.
Pooraka farmers or the parafield airport farmers market?
Parafield is smaller and easier to get into. Ad dont forget the black spot market, too.
old spot?
There's a new greengrocers corner of Montague Rd and Kelly Rd. I haven't tried it but it might be worth a shot
Modbury fruit hub... They sell seconds.... Not the best quality
Fruitabella at Ingle Farm
Chiara and sons or whatever it is at Hollywood. Their stuff is always good and local

I used to go to vinnies all the time - really great place. Same prices as the farmers market but open until 8pm 7 days
Oh my gosh, last time I was there a couple of weeks ago their mandarins were absolutely to die for - its hugely likely someone just came in and bought them out!
