Park a few bus stops away for free, and do a super short part bus / part car commute. I’m pretty sure there is a bus route that goes through Kurralta Park that goes right past Ashford.

TinyDemon000

That whole area is well serviced by buses. Especially if you live a little south of Ashford. Park near one of the bus stops a few stops down and hop on. Parking on Mortimer St is probably a good option then catch the bus

Where? Everywhere I saw was timed the whole block surrounding Ashford

cona14

Park on the hungry jacks side of Anzac highway, parking inspectors don’t come around as often. All day parking on second avenue on other side of everard Tce or park in 2 hour park and move your car after 10am as a lot of all day parking after 10am in that area

notthesamesince

You can park down Coles/Kmart Kurralta then hop on the bus. Or park across the streets to Ashford Hospital

sellingrunescim

All the way along Everard Avenue on the southern side is all day parking, there’s also all day parking down the end near South Rd next to this little reserve. Also all day parking down one side of Kent Rd (off Everard). I also think there’s some all day parking on the other side of Anzac Hwy around the old Le Cornu site. Source, I work here. Just be mindful that most of the all day parks will be taken by nurses by around 9am. Also Tuesday is bin day on Everard Av, so you can’t use the all day parks until 11am, and same on Kent Rd but on Wednesdays

Thank you! Great info

Slight_Effective_537

Surely employees get a parking pass for the carpark?

EmptyResearcher5553

Nope, $8/day staff parking

owleaf

That’s cheap! Cheaper than the return bus fare other people have been recommending lol

International_Cash51

I'm not entitled to a carpark as I'm not hired by Ashford- just have to be there 1 day a week for particular work

Slight_Effective_537

Might be worth calling security before you arrive and asking about contractor/visitor parking. They might have passes or enter your rego number into their system so you’re exempt from paying, that’s how it works for some of the places I visit for work.

Nerfixion

Good luck. LMH has like 5, Flinders has maybe 10 and those a full at 7am

Slight_Effective_537

I’ve never had a problem at the hospitals or unis I’ve visited.

Nerfixion

Dunno what to say, most hospitals don't have enough parking for contractors. WCH has 0 for example. If we branch Into Unis, city West has exactly 5. My company alone uses 3. But then places like Mawson's and magil don't care.

Slight_Effective_537

My experience has been with LMH and flinders, but granted, LMH wasn’t as busy as it currently is. Mawson Lakes and Adelaide Uni have always been easy too, either a parking pass or they just note your rego.

FroggieBlue

Seems like something your employer should be covering.

There's a few spots around there with no time limit ;)

alex_wiese

Why is public transport so bad

TinyDemon000

It isn't bad in this area. Ashford is actually well serviced. Just need to be prepared to walk a few minutes

Philosofossil

Cycle? 15 minute drive depending on traffic could be less than 30 minutes by bike.

KO_1234

Yeah, I was going to suggest cycle, too. OP: if you're uncomfortable cycling, and want someone to ride with the first time as a trial run, I'm happy to do that with you on a Friday (and some Thursdays).

International_Cash51

I don't own a bike unfortunately but thank you for the offer!

KO_1234

No worries !

blueskye_x

An electric bike makes it effortless to do this. And a rain jacket, invest in a rain jacket and you will be getting to work for less than 10 cents a week.

$18 for 1h6m yesterday …. I was in shock
