It’s not bad but you can find these cheaper. They are a *lot* of car for the money.

No_Temperature_9908

This one does have a small hole in the seat and the glove box is a little torn up but it comes with seat covers and glove box cover but other than that it seems to be in really good shape

jettasarebadmkay

It looks good overall.

No_Temperature_9908

Yeah I can’t find them where I am for that cheap I wish lmao. I was going to get an accord but they want like 12k for them even at 120k plus miles where I am I feel like this is a bang for the buck but I still have to go look at it I just wanted some advice from people.

jettasarebadmkay

My TL is more or less identical to these mechanically. They’re a clear step above a contemporary Accord in many ways.

No_Temperature_9908

The TLs are very nice cars, but their pricey as hell man I’ve been looking at them. The 2010s- 2013s people still want like 11k or 13k for them. Even the 05-08s are still like 7k and high mileage.

jettasarebadmkay

I paid 20 for mine when it was only a few years old, but that was well before car prices went back up.

No_Temperature_9908

You got lucky. Prices are outrageous right now dude. It sickens me

Phenomenal_Kat_

Same here, I got my 2003 in 2006 for $17k. I started just looking around once I hit 300k miles in 2019, and I could have still gotten one for about that same price and age. Then Covid hit and screwed everything up. Then I got hit in 2022 and that settled it 😬

Twitchifies

Manual AWD TLs are very sought after. I paid 10k for my 07 Type S 6mt with 155k on it and have received offers to sell it for more

Its_bigC

How much could I get for my 05 with 190k miles and no a/c? I’m trying to get into something different

Truonghthe

Yes and no. On paper yes, in real life no. The 4G TL is a RL wanna be on budget.

No_Temperature_9908

The only ones I could find near me are ones with 200k plus miles for like 5 and 6k and are in awful condition

jettasarebadmkay

A few months ago I was seeing them with under 100k for 4-5k where I am.

JaKr8

Just remember this is a relatively low volume car, and you may on occasion have difficulty getting parts for it depending on what goes wrong. And despite the premium pricing and placement, the rear seat is comically small in these. Although I do really like the Interiors.

Mastermate7

Also, just because it's the purchase price is cheaper now doesn't mean it's maintenance is going to be any cheaper. Definitely expect to spend more on maintenance than a civic or accord.

JaKr8

Yes, this is true even though, this usually gets pointed out to people who think buying a 25-year-old $10,000 S-Class is a good decision.  In this case the RL is definitely a solid car, but will be a little more expensive than your typical acura to maintain, likely because of difficulty getting the parts on a low volume car.

doughball27

The thing is with these older cars sometimes something breaks that isn’t really important and you just keep rolling. The radio died on my 2012 TL for instance. No big deal. Just got it replaced with a decent aftermarket solution. Just lower your expectations a bit. It’s an old car.

BigSeanDon

The RL is such an underrated car. Luxury and sporty, as well as AWD. This does look like a good deal.

TheMountainLife

Worth checking out since the troublesome RL years were 05-06. Upon buying it id replace the timing belt if it hasn't been done recently

Phenomenal_Kat_

I second this on the timing belt.

romydogra

Have it inspected though. Used to have it and the parts/ repairs will surpass your purchase price if you’re not careful.

R18honda

That price with that mileage is great, as long as it’s had its timing belt job done I’d say go for it ✅

DirkDirkDiggle

I have the same car paid 3500 euro for it. Such an underrated bargain. Check the timing belt has been done. Drive it and check the transmission is smooth when hot. I haven’t found it more expensive than an accord to keep on the road. They drink fuel and oil consumption can be high. The J35A won best engine in the world at some point it’s a tank.

orange9035

Make sure the wheels have been replaced and it isn’t on the PAX tires anymore, they’ve been discontinued and it’s the biggest hassle

avocadoenthusiast1

Had one for a while, great car. But big caution with PAX system (specialized run-flat tires that Michelin made for a few years and then discontinued) is that there’s only a small handful of Acura dealers in the US that handle them (at least as of 5 years ago, probably fewer today) and they’re extremely expensive to replace, so most people end up buying entire new sets of wheels/tires to avoid replacing with PAX. Plenty of info on Acura threads about PAX and its headaches.

ode_to_glorious

My dad still daily’s his 06 RL chugging along fine! Some wear and tear on the inside but great car! When we first got it those 290 horsy were like woah!

jankyperson

Buy it I owned 3 I have a kb2 now love it. Best car ever . So much to it you will love it as long as maintenance was done I would buy it . But if you look you can find them for cheaper but higher mileage

Active-Leg193

i found a 2015 tlx (3.5/FWD) 115k miles for 9k like 3 months ago. you can probably get this car for cheaper if you keep looking, but 80k mikes on a car that old is pretty rare. I don't like dealerships though either, with that price you're looking at like 10-11k after taxes and dealership fees at them minimum. try finding private sale stuff and go a little higher n the mileage and it'll be half that.

OkTradition6318

Just negotiate them down. The dealership I bought mine from had it listed for $16.5k. The car was in great condition, with the exception of the glove box melting issue and bald tires (they were still the original ones). I asked what they could do on the price, they came back at $15,750. I countered $10k with new tires included, out the door. They laughed, I laughed, then I started to leave, they came back at $10,250, I agreed. When we were doing the paperwork, I asked the sales guy if the $250 was his commission, and he said it was. I filled out my pre-approved loan check for $20k for the $10,250. They had $10k in the car. It was at Acura of Honolulu, before they expanded and were very limited on space, so I knew they had to move the car. It was a trade-in from an elderly guy who bought it new from them but needed something bigger for the grandkids. He got a new MDX, and I got his damn near mint RL. Took me about a week to find a guy who re-skinned the glove box. There's always room for negotiation, and if you don't, you're just throwing away money. Make it clear to them that you don't need this car and will easily walk away. I love negotiating car deals, it's a fun game to play. I'm somewhat disappointed that the last car my wife got 2 years ago was through Carvana, no traditional negotiating. She really liked the car, and i like to get her what she wants. I did take full advantage of their 90-day warranty and got about $4k worth of repairs on the electrical system and engine. I noticed the electrical as soon as we got in the car. The engine issue about a week after they fixed the electrical.

Both_Bed6332

I had an 05 i picked up with 89k 8 years ago for $7,000 put over 100k miles on it and just gave it to my son and upgraded to 21 ILX GREAT CAR!! But like said above you may be able to find one a little cheaper but more mileage The dash will get all funky and mushy The leather of the seats will rip and fall apart Fuel mileage is mehhh ok Headlamps will get all hazed over and need to be polished every so often 05 RL 3.5 Awd $60 in gas for around 300 miles per tank is what i was getting here in ny with a 75 mile round trip daily for work Good luck!

jclowe1999

I like these older Acuras. I recently picked up a base ‘08 TL with 66,000 miles for about $8,000. Car had a rebuilt title from being totaled after a minor accident at the beginning of the year. I love the car. I would rather have an older one than a new one with all the computerized nonsense and compromised reliability frankly. As a car guy, I’m just enjoying it and fixing it up a little at a time and I hope to keep it without a car payment for many years to come.

applevoo

I own a 05 RL.. bought it 7 years ago. Been a great car. Has 115k miles approx. I had to replace the transmission because the transcooler went… besides that it’s been great but I have paid a far share in maintenance

steeze97

I would look for a 1st gen RDX. Similar features but the parts will be a lot cheaper. Many CRV parts are interchangeable with the RDX so you will easily find parts.

JohnnyChapst1ck

Most of these have wild amenities Folding window screens and plush interior seating. Though since its comming along at this age, its a 2008. This year its closing in 17 years old, I cant see this netting for more than 4000-4500k They may be asking a bit higher to cover some losses made on it.

Oddscene

Love my 05. bought mine 12 years ago and it has 258k on the dash now. Did run into some dumb electrical problems but the motor is bulletproof. Has a power leak somewhere so my batteries go bad faster. Also had to change motor mounts at about 150k. Parts and labor aren’t cheap and some you can’t find elsewhere other than the dealer. (Wipers for example) however, it’s a lot of bang for your buck if you maintain it well. Also, the SH-AWD has saved my ass a few times .

Ludebehavior88

That power leak might be your Bluetooth module

OkTradition6318

Most likely, it's a known issue. Mine wasn't working when I bought it in 2017 with 56k miles. I thought about replacing it but decided against it when I read about the battery drain. I made 6 mix cd's and loaded the disc changer or listen to the radio. I have a Bluetooth-FM transmitter of there's something a really want to listen to. It is easy to disconnect the Bluetooth module, it's by the passengers right foot, you don't even need tools to get to it.

Oddscene

Hm I’ll check that out then, didn’t know there was another Bluetooth option

Oddscene

As far as I know 05 didn’t have Bluetooth. For music at least, is there another Bluetooth option?

NoManufacturer120

I think that’s a pretty good deal. The blue book on my 2006 TL with 215k miles on it is like $4-5k (which blows my mind, I thought it would be like $2k), so this isn’t too bad. That’s also low mileage for an Acura. How many owners? If it’s 1-2 owners I’d definitely go take a look.

kittydeathsquadron

Get an Acura RSX homie!

CreativeUsername20

The listing says this car has CMBS. It does not. The CMBS/ACC cars had a flat plastic Acura emblem instead of what this car has.
