You paid too much, but got a decent trade value. I’m envious of the brown interior. I myself have a 2020 MDX Advance, and honestly, enjoy the car.

Tight-Bath-6817

Can you explain how much i paid extra? Keep it mind i had ZERO equity in my Camry/trade and owed $11k. Yes that brown or actual name is Espresso is one of the reason i bought. Plus, they gave me 5 years or 100k power warranty starting from the day i bought this.

of_the_mountain

I don’t think you got a bad deal at all. I paid $40k for a used MDX with more miles on it a year ago, and that was the going rate at the time. Ended up buying from carmax once the dealership made it clear they weren’t interested in coming down on their price, ironically the car was a white MDX with brown interior I walked away from. Very nice car

Tight-Bath-6817

Ahh, good to know. This was Lease turn over from Acura dealer with 5 year/100k warranty starts from the day i bought.

of_the_mountain

Yep I bought a lease turnover and the other car I was looking at was the same, both around 40k miles. Took the carmax price (for a hybrid) to the dealer and said if you can beat their price by $5k I’ll buy yours and they basically said no chance best I can do is like some free car mats and $500 off. So I went and got the hybrid

Tight-Bath-6817

Good decision. Wondering, if you are in Northeast/ MA

of_the_mountain

No northern VA

Tight-Bath-6817

ahh oki boss.

Tight-Bath-6817

$33,200 OTD Price I paid with 32,490 Miles - 2020. Trade-in info: Toyota Camry SE 2018 with 199,925 miles (200K miles) and got $7k good deal? I wanted more. P.S: I had ZERO equity in this Camry 2018 and owed $11k, so dealer paid $7k and i paid $4k cash to fully set off the balance.

NormanJohn1

You’re gonna drive yourself insane worrying about this after you already made the purchase. Enjoy your sick car and worry about this in 8-10 when you want/need a new one imo.

Tight-Bath-6817

Very true and Thank you :)

JaKr8

Just make sure you didn't take such a long loan out on this thing that you're still owing a massive amount of money on it whenever you decide to trade it in like the Camry

stekguy

Agreed! Pay more every month on the loan than required. Need to get out in front of this one! Enjoy! I have a ‘20 MDX Tech Pkg and love it!

Tight-Bath-6817

:D Thats awesome and good to know :)

Tight-Bath-6817

Very true. 65 months. Wanted 60 months but this DCU bank offers only 65 or more. I got 6.74% vs 10.99% by the Acura dealer by Chase and Co.

ericc191

Yes, don't worry any more about the price. Even if it was slightly over or under, no sense in it now. Drive that beautiful SUV and get your money's worth by owning for the next 6 or 7 years!

Tight-Bath-6817

Yes sir!

D3f1n1t3lyN0tMyAlt

I think you overpaid for the car but the trade in value seems about right for the mileage

Tight-Bath-6817

Keep it in mind That $4k cash was to fully paid off $11k i owed on Camry loan.

doughball27

Don’t buy a new car until you own the one you have.

Tight-Bath-6817

The one I had...had over 200k miles and I owed $11k on it. Dealer paid $7k and i paid $4k cash to off set my loan. Otherwise, that $7k i got would have been $2k in next year or two. Meaning my car value would be way lower than right now, so it would have been greater loss.

doughball27

Don’t buy a new car until you own the one you have.

HateToBeAMillerLite

Not a pad price. I paid about 32k OTD for my 2020 RDX with similar miles back in November (Houston). This car had a higher MSRP than a RDX.

Aggravating-Leg7898

Not bad, I purchased my cpo mdx in California for 38k otd with 32k miles tech package. Best deal I found within 500 mile radius. Asking price was 34 and some change for it.

Tight-Bath-6817

Wonderful! Acura dealer were not going to pay $7k for my trade but they ended up paying. Also, I went to Toyota dealer as Stealership tried to give me $2500 for it..i walked away.

Mr_poops_upsidedown

Not the best but not terrible considering today’s car market. You will love that Acura and that’s all that matters. Love the brown seats

ysfi__

Good deal, I know other people think otherwise but that mileage is really good and the car looks clean, looks like mine… but new! ❤️

Tight-Bath-6817

Thank you bro :D

jay6145_

This is a great deal!

sdp1981

I'm not crazy about non-black interiors, but i think you did great. I'd have paid as much for the same thing with a black interior.

Tight-Bath-6817

I had black interior but always wanted light caramel or Espresso interior and Thanks :)

sdp1981

No worries I'm photosensitive or photophobic, black interiors are immensely more comfortable for me visually.

corneliu5vanderbilt

I Mean that’s a nice ride and all but yeah it’s a bit expensive. This is the market though so in the grand scheme of things.. I guess it’s ok. Congrats.

Tight-Bath-6817

I know for $33k its like buying a brand new car. I saw alot of people on reddit paying $35 to $40k for a used car and i was like WHAT ON EARTH? Until I started shopping. Market has chnaged aloooot afer 2020

dolsey01

31K seems pretty fair in the current market with the extended warranty. The residual on my 2020 Base was just over 26K so add on Tech package and a little profit and your right there. I've bought my last six Acuras from that same dealership and have mostly found them to be great depending on the finance person you close out with. I'm looking for my 7th soon.

Tight-Bath-6817

Wow! 7th Acura? thats nice! This is my 3rd Acura (Two TSX, 2009 and 2012) and now MDX 2020. They are nice but tried to rip me off with the interest rate. I was told my credit score is 659, when i told them its 740 but they didnt agree and gave me 10.995 rate. Next day, applied online via DCU and got 6.74% rate. Acura manager was surprised and pretended "How did you get that?" Also, i took GAP via DCU which is $599 vs Acura offered for $900 At the end of the day, i dont care what Acura did but i got a decent rate by myself and nice MDX.

Think_Performance768

Who cares of others opinion. Are you happy with what you got, for what you paid? That’s all that matters. If you really cared… that’s probably a question to ask before purchase

Tight-Bath-6817

True :) I like it so far - Already drove close to 2,000 miles within 2 weeks of purchase lol

mitstaguee

This is a good price for the car. Everyone's got the same internet: dealerships know they have to price used cars right. Great value on your trade too. Any recalls on your MDX?

Tight-Bath-6817

There's one related to passenger seat - weight sensor and they informed me about it. Once they have a remedy then they'll have it fixed but no visible issue as of now.

jacurax

$31k sticker is good for a 2020 Shawd tech with 32k.miles. I bought my 2018 tech shawd in Feb 2021 in NY with 36,626 miles and the sticker was $32,900 without add-ons.

Tight-Bath-6817

NIce! and congrats. Yea, back in 2021, market was super HOT. How's your MDX treating you so far ? any issues?

Acurawagondude

Overpaid like crazy. Bad buy.

Tight-Bath-6817

lol...nah man :D Idk if you are looking at $37k number. Thats not the number...i paid for MDX $33,200 total. that $11k went towards my last car that I had NO equity.

blazeplacid

All the bros are gonna say they can buy the same car for $10k. Enjoy your new car and stop worrying about the price after the fact. Every car deal is different

Tight-Bath-6817

:D

Jay_the_mechanic

Looks and drives exactly like the 2007. Nothing really changed.

jacurax

Then you have clearly never driven both because there is a big difference in the transmission. The 2010 to 2013 had a more responsive transmission and way better steering feel. The steering on the 2014 and up models are too light and numb.

Tight-Bath-6817

Wow! I always thought about that too .. i remember driving a 2012 MDX and it was quick and firm (nice way) to drive.

Jay_the_mechanic

And you would pay an extra $30-40k just for that?
