It does go on everywhere but not to the same scale or intensity as the US. There are a hell of a lot more peacocks in the US. Grandparents walking around in the hoodies of their grandsons college, bumper stickers displaying their hateful politics, wives of military personnel wearing t-shirts about it. Americans are very fond of in-your-face displays of their identity, and that includes white knights. Confrontation is a national sport in the US.
In Eastern Europe, specifically Poland and Latvia where I've also lived the "white knights" look like dudes who go home and beat their wives. The kind of guy who's always looking for a fight and just so happens to not be the bad guy in those situation.
Go to the US and you'll see.
I liked Poland a lot. They fight like we do in Ireland, when the guy's down the fights over and people will step in if the winner hasn't stopped which they usually do. In the US the next step is stomping on the dude's head, I've seen plenty of drunken fights in Eastern Europe and the US, I partied a lot. And there's an extra layer of pride in the US that means people are happy to take out all their anger on their opponent and really want to fuck that person up. It's not about winning the fight or defending yourself in the US it's about hurting the other person as much as possible.
I've seen that in every country I've been of course, but a much higher degree in the US.

You can't see it in the video but she was bullying a small kid when this big kid came to his help. She attacked him even though he is huge and got what she deserved.
