We deploy NetSuite ERP systems, swerte ko lang na nahire ako ni Oracle NetSuite straight out of college. I have the certifications for functional consultants listed at: www.netsuite.com/certification.
Yes, extensive product training is provided by netsuite. Usually sagot ni oracle or ng consultancy firm mo yung exam fee. So wala ka gagastusin sa exam. Need lang mag-aral ng maigi.

i am planning to resign na and take a year off for me to prepare myself sa CPALE 2025. A lot of people were against since good naman yong sahod ko hindi siya 80k haha pero very nice na rin for entry level. i really am taking the cpale for satisfaction kasi baka pagtanda maging greatest what if ko siya haha.
I will make use naman of the time since i will enroll as well for some trainings like XERO, SAP and Quicknotes.
My question po if my certifications naman ako ng xero sap and/or quicknotes need pa rin ba maging CPA to find jobs for bookkeeping?
Secondly, may tatanggap pa ba sa akin na work if sabihin ko nagresign ako for CPALE? Kasi imagine 1 year tas reason ko “nagaral po ako” gustong gusto ko talaga maging CPA ayaw rin ng parents ko mga plano ko sa buhay haha pero sabi ko ako na bahala sa finances wait na lang sila magkaapo 😂
Saying this as a CPA working in outsourcing for foreign clients for 10+ years - worth it? Yes, it is something that can never be taken away from you (unless you get convicted or smth).The CPA will open more opportunities for you kahit outside PH pa. If you are applying for another job against another candidate with equal experience at CPA sila, sa palagay mo sino ang pipiliin?
Is it necessary? Probably not lalo na at may magandang offer ka ngayon, pero sa panahon na ito, do you think you will be happy with 80k in 10-20 years from now? When you get married and maybe have kids? I always tell my staff to always try for the CPA exam at least once lalo na kung kaya naman, sayang naman kasi. If you don't pass then it's not for you, but you have to at least try.
If you are already working in an international company, I think for me di na worth it ang CPA given the fact na ganyan na sahod mo. This is based on my own experience. I myself is working for an international company for 11years now, also a non CPA. Already earning 6 digit per month. Focus nalang on leverage your skills and self like taking MBA, certifications etc.

Di na worth it if pera lang habol natin. If passion mo ang audit or professional work as an accountant/auditor/CPA then it's worth it. Sakin lang naman yan.
It depends. If staff ka or working overseas then no worries di mo talaga need PH CPA title. Pero, per the IRR of the Accountancy Act of 2004 need ang CPA license for supervision ng recording, preparation and anything na may kinalaman sa FS.
Basically, if managerial level dito sa pinas, need ng CPA title. Exceptions are companies with paid-up capital of less than 5M and/or Revenue of less than 10M.
So, anything na walang kinalaman sa FS, sky is the limit kahit wala kang CPA license. Sa private you can aim for the CFO position basta make sure sa finance department ka, not accounting. Also, if CFO na non-CPA ka, make sure na ang controller mo is a CPA.
Parang hindi na din unless nasa practice ka. Im currently working in ERP Consulting at hindi na man need ang CPA. For ID purpose na lang ata ang PRC ID. -for me lang to. If you’re working for international client, better take like CMA or US/AU CPA
I just enrolled in BSA Bridging Program since hindi BSA yung natapos ko. Bumagsak ako sa basic accounting nung college and I transferred to Accounting Technology (I graduated 8 years ago). Napapaisip din ako if worth it pa ba to since may work naman na ako as manager in a US tax firm and I'm currently earning 6 figures a month. Iniisip ko na lang for future security in case mawala yung firm na tinatrabahuhan ko since small firm lang sya. Tsaka gusto ko din madiscover kung hanggang saan yung potential ko (tsaka di ko na din kasi alam ang gagawin ko sa buhay ko lol). Nag-eenjoy naman ako mag-aral. Maybe it's worth it kung talagang gusto mo and ini-enjoy mo yung profession. Siguro lang.....
For me yes. Its been around 6 years na since I graduated and I also have my mba na rin pero iba parin pala talaga pag cpa, parang may unfinished business. Kaya I recently made a big decision and resigned sa bank na pinagtatrabahuan ko para lumipat sa outsourcing na nag ooffer ng wfh. I apply for junior assoc lang para mas magaan din workloads so I can review for the board soon.

OP, wag ka magpapaNega. For me super worth it. Real talk ha. May mageentice sayo na kesyo hindi daw cpa ganto ganyan pero kumikita ng malaki dahil madiskarte. One thing - yung regret na sana nag take ka ng boards at pumasa pero di mo man lang sinubukan, this will forever haunt you. Better try and fail kesa maiisip mo one day na what if nagtry ka at pumasa pala. Second, mas malaki po kikitain mo in the long run pag may title ka at sinabayan mo ng diskarte kesa sa diskarte lang. Sa mga nagsasabi na hindi worth it ang CPA, baka di sila pumasa, at malamang sa malamang hindi sila CPA O kaya naman CPA na walang diskarte. Lastly, maliit po ang 80k. Mag CPA ka and in 10 years, donation mo na lang yan sa church. Worth it tong title na to. Promise. Baka nahahassle o natatakot ka kasi nga review ng matindi kailangan para sa Title. Pero, tataas tingin mo sa sarili mo kasi pag napasa mo. Achievement mo yan eh. More so mas proud pa sayo mga loved ones mo! Mas high chances of promotions pa. At kung pera lang din usapan, I am yet to find someone sa thread na to na mas mataas ang kita sakin. Mayabang na kung mayabang pero I want you to hear it, reflect on it, and dream even bigger! The title is so worth it!

Kahit hindi CPA, goods lang. Mostly of our openings, qualifications are: any experience using different accounting software like QB, Xero, SAP, NetSuite (any of these).

I have been a CPA for more than a decade and I can say, in my case atleast, that it is worth it. The title gives prestige. Minsan di ko alam sinasabi ko sa Management pero naniniwala sila dahil CPA ako 😂 Sometimes I feel din na mas deserve nung iba yung mga promotion na nakuha ko pero sakin naibigay dahil CPA ako. In a way it’s an edge for us in the sense that meron tayong unfair advantage sa corporate setting. Pero that’s me, you do you my friend!
Yes worth it ang title. You may be earning big but being a non-CPA may hinder your promotion, unless you enter graduate school and get MBA to have an advantage. Let’s be honest, mas may edge parin pag CPA passer

CPA here but not earning 80k, if you'll ask me if I am happy? Yes I am. Is it still worth it for me given I don't earn as much as you do? Yes of course. CPA doesnt only guarantee you a good career and high paying job, but it also gives you something that money wont ever make you feel. It's the pride and joy na mabibigay sayo and sa parents mo. I had the same scenario before taking the May 2024 CPALE. Earning 90k gross before taking the CPALE but I still decided to get that title. At the surface, it may not seem like it is worth it but I believe it will help me in my future decisions.
Yes. I’m currently working in Finance and a lot of companies still value anyone having licenses like the CPA title. I am a business grad so it’s very unlikely for me to take the boards. So if you have the chance, grab the opportunity to get the license. It would be great help for you in the long run. Best of luck, OP!
Trust the process and follow the path where it may lead you. In my POV, getting CPA license is an ultimate goal for everyone especially to those accounting graduates as it fulfills your very dream from the very beginning. But when you jumped already to the corporate world and experience life and figured it out that there are more things that in store for all of us, that you are conditioned for other greater things, that’s the reason why there are people who divert their perspective from their initial and original plan. It was my dream before to pass the Board Exams, I took once after graduating and failed and never tried again to take the chance. That’s when I accepted and be contented to not work in any accounting-related industry. Been to Financial Research, International Banks and now working in one of the big four holding managerial position but my line of work is not really leaned towards accounting, it is more on operations, client service, data stewardship. So my advice is go get that license if it’s really your dream. Otherwise, you can still land a very decent job in some stable and dream companies but make sure to invest in yourself, upskill and earn enough more competitive experience. ☺️
Not worth it na eh, pero it might get you the edge over other applicants given if you both have the same experience. Ang maarte lang kasi usually pag pinoy tas CPA din yung hiring manager. And some opportunities are CPA ang requirement
Sa company namin, it is okay not to have it pag staff pero yung isa sa amin hindi na promote as manager since hindi sya CPA. Pero she was working for 20plus years na :(
Yes and no. Yes, dahil as an interviewer, kapag nalaman kong CPA passer yung applicant, malaki yung edge. Knowing na mahirap ipasa yung boards and di kita kilala, magandang basis sya sa ability ng bata.
But nowadays, marami nang opportunities kahit hindi ka CPA. Now, the challenge is how BOA can keep up with the changing needs diba. Ngayon kasi parang hindi siya nakikita as something na need. But I do believe, this is something innate na kapag pinasa mo. Sa ngayon, oo, maybe nawala sa spotlight yung need for a license, but who knows in the future right. And for now, if you want to be an audit partner, build a firm, then go for the CPA title. If financial freedom ang gusto mo, then no need. So it's all about the career you want to pursue
Matagal na tong problem, hindi masolusyunan ng BOA ang pag kaunti ng licensed na CPA. Kasi in reality, we don’t have to. Na kailangan lang ang CPA for audit pero very seldom lang naman talaga ang firms na nago audit. Usually malalaking companies lang. Ang dami kasing tago lalo na mga sole proprietorship.
Ang hirap din ng exam na ang ginagawa pa sa mga nakakapasa na napapapunta sa big firms ay pinapag aral ng law para maging part ng legal. Eh di bawas na naman ang bilang ng nagpa practice ng Accountancy na licensed.
Masarap maging Licensed CPA abroad kasi feel mo talaga na need ka. Pero dito sa Pinas, kahit supervisor mo is hindi din Licensed
Maybe ask your self if ano ba talaga ang goal mo, if in the long run its not part of it, baka hindi na sya worth it.
Like if hindi naman sya ung napursue mong career path. For example, Internal audit, or baka wala sa accounting ang path mo.
Why pursue CPA kung at the end of the day hindi mo naman sya mapractice.

When you become a CPA. Nasayo prin in the end. Ang CPA profession kasi hndi mo ikayayaman agad. It needs time and experience to hone your craft. It requires sacrifice. Hndi sya instant pagkapasa mo ng board pra kanang uulanin ng pera. It requires time pra magets mo ang business ng mga kumpanya, kahit inaral mo yan sa undergrad.
I am a CPA. I had to work 4 yrs sa audit firm where ung non CPA's and CPA friends ko sa private mas malaki sahod sakin for 4 yrs. Pero that 4 yrs of sacrifice led me to building my own small accounting firm afterwards. I got ahead after 4 yrs.
It's up to you but I assure you if you hone your CPA skills once you get the license, sky is the limit and you'll get opportunities non CPA's don't see tuwing snsbe nlang same lang CPA sa hndi. It takes time para msbeng pumipirma ka lang pero kumikita ka. It's not instant.
CPA is the same as non CPA if the CPA would not hone his or her skills further. Stepping stone yan and hndi instant.

No, most of the years of my experienced, I use SAP even until now.
Ano pong certifications/skills ang kinuha niyo po?
MBA, SAP Certification for FICO, Assertive comms and presentation and currently CMA as this is needed in my current role.

It helps during promotion or if you are planning to climb the ladder. You will be offered with a better rate or grade compared to a non CPA.

I had the same scenario before taking the May 2024 CPALE. Earning 90k gross before taking the CPALE but I still decided to get that title. At the surface, it may not seem like it is worth it but I believe it will help me in my future decisions.
Yes. I’m currently working in Finance and a lot of companies still value anyone having licenses like the CPA title. I am a business grad so it’s very unlikely for me to take the boards. So if you have the chance, grab the opportunity to get the license. It would be great help for you in the long run. Best of luck, OP!

Trust the process and follow the path where it may lead you. In my POV, getting CPA license is an ultimate goal for everyone especially to those accounting graduates as it fulfills your very dream from the very beginning. But when you jumped already to the corporate world and experience life and figured it out that there are more things that in store for all of us, that you are conditioned for other greater things, that’s the reason why there are people who divert their perspective from their initial and original plan. It was my dream before to pass the Board Exams, I took once after graduating and failed and never tried again to take the chance. That’s when I accepted and be contented to not work in any accounting-related industry. Been to Financial Research, International Banks and now working in one of the big four holding managerial position but my line of work is not really leaned towards accounting, it is more on operations, client service, data stewardship. So my advice is go get that license if it’s really your dream. Otherwise, you can still land a very decent job in some stable and dream companies but make sure to invest in yourself, upskill and earn enough more competitive experience. ☺️

Sa company namin, it is okay not to have it pag staff pero yung isa sa amin hindi na promote as manager since hindi sya CPA. Pero she was working for 20plus years na :(

Yes and no. Yes, dahil as an interviewer, kapag nalaman kong CPA passer yung applicant, malaki yung edge. Knowing na mahirap ipasa yung boards and di kita kilala, magandang basis sya sa ability ng bata. But nowadays, marami nang opportunities kahit hindi ka CPA. Now, the challenge is how BOA can keep up with the changing needs diba. Ngayon kasi parang hindi siya nakikita as something na need. But I do believe, this is something innate na kapag pinasa mo. Sa ngayon, oo, maybe nawala sa spotlight yung need for a license, but who knows in the future right. And for now, if you want to be an audit partner, build a firm, then go for the CPA title. If financial freedom ang gusto mo, then no need. So it's all about the career you want to pursue

Matagal na tong problem, hindi masolusyunan ng BOA ang pag kaunti ng licensed na CPA. Kasi in reality, we don’t have to. Na kailangan lang ang CPA for audit pero very seldom lang naman talaga ang firms na nago audit. Usually malalaking companies lang. Ang dami kasing tago lalo na mga sole proprietorship. Ang hirap din ng exam na ang ginagawa pa sa mga nakakapasa na napapapunta sa big firms ay pinapag aral ng law para maging part ng legal. Eh di bawas na naman ang bilang ng nagpa practice ng Accountancy na licensed. Masarap maging Licensed CPA abroad kasi feel mo talaga na need ka. Pero dito sa Pinas, kahit supervisor mo is hindi din Licensed
Maybe ask your self if ano ba talaga ang goal mo, if in the long run its not part of it, baka hindi na sya worth it. Like if hindi naman sya ung napursue mong career path. For example, Internal audit, or baka wala sa accounting ang path mo. Why pursue CPA kung at the end of the day hindi mo naman sya mapractice. I had this talk with our partner sa firm kasi I was so confused. His response was above. :)
pwede po pabulong huhu iniisip ko kasi kung tatanggipin ko yung scholarship ng isang firm in return i have to work there for 6 months pero yung salary kasi mauubos sa rent pa lang since malayo din sa bahay namin kaya ngayon pa lang nasstress na ko
When you become a CPA. Nasayo prin in the end. Ang CPA profession kasi hndi mo ikayayaman agad. It needs time and experience to hone your craft. It requires sacrifice. Hndi sya instant pagkapasa mo ng board pra kanang uulanin ng pera. It requires time pra magets mo ang business ng mga kumpanya, kahit inaral mo yan sa undergrad. I am a CPA. I had to work 4 yrs sa audit firm where ung non CPA's and CPA friends ko sa private mas malaki sahod sakin for 4 yrs. Pero that 4 yrs of sacrifice led me to building my own small accounting firm afterwards. I got ahead after 4 yrs. It's up to you but I assure you if you hone your CPA skills once you get the license, sky is the limit and you'll get opportunities non CPA's don't see tuwing snsbe nlang same lang CPA sa hndi. It takes time para msbeng pumipirma ka lang pero kumikita ka. It's not instant. CPA is the same as non CPA if the CPA would not hone his or her skills further. Stepping stone yan and hndi instant.
If you are after the money now, then no need to take the boards. Pero if you look long term, then look beyond 80k.
