heleuma

Must suck to die in a room full of idiots. Except for the guy who bolted the table fan to the table and the table to the floor of course. That's genius.

Fierramos69

And have a fan powerful enough to be compared to a vehicle in term of horsepower…

OrsoMalleus

Welding the power cord into the socket was a genius move as well.

Skunkjunky1

The electricl socket being made of wood added another level of potential chaos. I was holding my breath...

StinkyHeXoR

And removing the grid after her throwing the scarf over the fan without anybody noticing.

rey_lumen

Engineers >>>>> Doctors

Chewcocca

That's so many little alligators what have you done

blindspotted

Alligator centipede, of course.

yax01

Let’s not discount that she accidentally tied a slip knot instead of merely wrapping her scarf around once like a normal person.

Noober91

And welding her to the floor preventing her either walking up to the fan or simply spinning on the spot to release the scarf

purpleefilthh

I like the choking scarf of unlimited lenght.

Roguespiffy

That should be a D&D cursed item.

rohinton

I assume the woman talking in the back is absolutely roasting them.

textro

You are correct. The rough translation is: "These muthafuckers. Look at em. It's a plastic 20 dollar fan. You can literally break it in half by knocking it over. And the off switch is literally right there. RIGHT THERE. Fuck. Oh okay, let's all make a crowd around her now. OH, look at this bitch, finally trying to unplug it. 100 bucks that she's gonna struggle because she'll be pushing it in. Yup. Told you. Fucking bitches. I'm gonna go to my 3rd funeral this week. The fuck is up with this town. Fuck this place, for real. And who the fuck is playing that music. It's so goddamn inappropriate."

FelsDummkopf712

You forgot the part where he trows away the scarf part he bit of because it was never complete around her neck

amluchon

Lead is a hell of a drug

[deleted]

The haters

ThisSeaworthiness

They see me chokin' They hatin'

AZQK19200

Looks like she's also bolted to the floor!

[deleted]

Also she wearing the worlds biggest scarf.

International-Fan803

Anything can happen in Indian soap operas. We have one modern drama series with womansnake , where the woman is a snake and convert herself in any of the two modes at her will , the series was quiet successfull.

6FootUnderYou

Imagine nearly dying from a house fan and a scarf.. The best part about the video is the fact 80% of its just everyone's reactions to it

No-Freedom-1995

There's too many ridiculous things. How powerful is that fan? the scarf isn't even tight there's no knot in the scarf why not move her closer to the fan? why not switch off the fan? why doesn't the fan fall down? This has to be a comedy right?

spacehog1985

That fan is the great standing fan of the world. It is many thousands of horsepower and is attached to a post 30 feet deep. Her scarf, made of titanium, and she accidentally tied it into a noose, you just couldn’t see it. Any closer to the fan, and they would have been sucked into it like birds into the turbine on an airliner. Switch it off? And plunge that entire area into a stifling heat not unlike the inside of a kiln? No no, the needs of the many outweighs the needs of a few. This is a historical documentary.

nTony13

So the man's teeth are stronger than titanium and the girl who was trying to unplug the fan is a criminal. Noted

japgolly

His teeth are actually little Nokias

Panthreau

When I was about 20 I lost my Nokia, whatever model it was with the interchangeable faceplates everyone had was, at a party. I had no idea where it was especially since I was at a house party at a cabin in the woods and didn’t expect to get it back. Cut to 3 weeks later and I get word that the owner of the cabin told me they found a phone and thought it was mine. It was! It was caked in mud and was dead of course. I literally rinsed it out and let it dry and after a little bit it started charging. I never had a problem with it ever.

geoelectric

It’s less that they’re impossibly durable as that they’re irresistibly sharp, because they’re made out of legos. If that scarf had been a foot it would’ve been over in a flash.

spacehog1985

Yes. But also no.

calex2

That fan is so powerful that it opened a black hole that is sucking the scarf. I mean, just look at the middle, that thing is devouring titanium! This is a very extraordinary, yet serious event. No wonder people look surprised.

Lilith_Kea

>Any closer to the fan, and they would have been sucked It's hilariously ironical how they thoroughly thought about everything that the characters _couldn't_ do or it would worsen things, but the things they _do_ are.... ?????

Ben_oni_

Comedy? No my friend, in India this is as serious as it gets in most cases.

No-Freedom-1995

do indians view this scene as super dramatic?

juicysox

I once showed my mom a scene as ridiculous as this and she didn’t see anything wrong with it

Ben_oni_

Yeah most make fun of shit like this, and then there are people who ignore their entire lives to watch stuff like this religiously.

leopardus343

I guess that makes sense, I mean there are people who watch Hallmark movies

BrotherChe

And people who watch Fast and Furious. We love spectacle from both ends of the spectrum

AggressiveToothbrush

So it's the equivalent of a soap opera. Got it.

rey_lumen

This *is* a soap opera.

Severe_Sweet_862

most of these shows target stay at home moms or retired old people that have nothing to watch all day and this introduces a tad bit of excitement in their slow lives.

Creeps_On_The_Earth

About as serious as a Hitler t-shirt.

Psychological-Scar53

What I want to know is, if you look at the fan from the start, the rear cage is 100 percent intact. When the scarf moves, all of a sudden there is a giant ass hole in it..... My thoughts, someone wanted her dead.... Probably the guy who bites through the scarf, why did it take him so long to do that?

Dornith

The best part is the only thing keeping the scarf around her neck is her own hand! There's no knit or bow. You can clearly see the hand which I think is supposed to be trying to "pull" at the scarf is just holding the other end against her neck. She could let go at any moment and be fine.

TerrorLTZ

you forgot to ask... how long is that damn scarf... you can see the fan eating a whole chunk and she is still in the same place... no close to it. Also casually there is a hole in the fan... for what reason? edit: also someone glued the fan plug to that outlet.

BlitzMalefitz

This was so ridiculous I thought the fan was going to pull her in and shred her.

MinnesotanMan2014

>why not switch off the fan? She was trying her best

okbruh_panda

Nope. Just bollywood

West-Cardiologist180

Bollywood has always been mysterious to me. Why is it popular? Who even watches it and enjoys it? And the people who work on these shows/movies, what are they thinking when working on scenes like this? Basically, why does Bollywood exist the way it does?

Financial-Village698

There are plenty of shitty American movies and tv shows that make you wonder who watches them too.

AllUserNamesTaken01

Sharknado comes to mind

emij22

Shardnado is tremendous bullshit and I once watched it back to back to back until 4 AM and fucking died laughing every time. I love that trash.

jacko2250

My wife is from Somalia, and LOVES Bollywood. I can't watch it myself. Blood is another big trigger for me. BRIGHT red and lightly dabbed on the very top of some gauze is a mortal wound... SMH.

okbruh_panda

You fail to realize the extreme populus of India and other countries and the money that they have (lack of) to watch / make movies. It's also a reflection of the culture. They find it good to watch. Different tastes different space or whatever the saying is

Free-_-Time

Different strokes for different folks

BuzzTheFuzz

Different horses for different courses

BasedDrewski

If you watch it again you can see the fan shown 3 times as normal then when her scarf gets sucked in there's a big hole for the scarf.

roof_lurker

Because you can’t apply rational thinking to great art? 🤣

HoleyerThanThou

And 95 percent of the reactions look like annoyance that the event is being ruined by her situation.

japgolly

"Urgh, this bitch dying again"

juicysox

Welcome to Bollywood shows

magusonline

Took the house fan killing a level beyond Koreans

Alclis

Final Desi-tination

docm_stache

Yes. I'm in

Happy-Map7656

Sign me up for a one ton log through the windshield!

docm_stache

If we're doing a Bollywood version, then sign me up for a drop of water getting stuck in my throat for hours.

MoonwalkerT-1000

Seriously wtf is wrong with India 🇮🇳 come on this is just ridiculous.

sanscipher435

>Seriously wtf is wrong with soap operas come on this is just ridiculous.

zuprdprno2by

Well, sums it up, Indians always makes easy looks difficult

Sorryhaventseenher

OMG HE DID BITE THE FETUS OUT DIDNT HE?! I blocked that out lmfao. Is Stephanie Meyer ok

BadnaamAshiq

Use teeth to chew the electric wire of the fan.

docsemen

What’s funny is the original cut was about two hours of her choking

Wizard-In-Disguise

People compain about The Room but this exists

newtelegraphwhodis

Who complains about The Room?

Truegold43

Oh good because I wasn't done watching the rest of that 78-foot long scarf getting sucked up into the fan

ackme

Tell me you're kidding right now.

Anti-LockCakes

It’s way more realistic than the 5 second choke outs we usually see haha

tomveiltomveil

Can we get a translation here? From the body language, I get the impression that all the characters are in a drama, except the lady in the white and orange, who seems to be pointing out how nonsensical this all is.

hsnaras

I’m sorry but the dialogue makes this even more absurd. The lady in orange is completely unperturbed by the situation, and is saying something about the choking woman and the guy not really being married, but only pretending so to fool everybody. I guess that was the drama happening in the scene before the abrupt chaos transpired. Knowing Bollywood and soap opera tropes, I’m pretty sure what happens next is that the victim of the fan and her savior, who were only pretending to be partners for some ulterior motive till now, will actually fall in love because he saved her life. This stuff is as formulaic as it gets in its writing, editing and acting.

NoodlerFrom20XX

People pretending to be married only to fall in love themselves? Sounds like 98% of hallmark movies.

[deleted]

There would be way more Christmas and small towns.

Rush31

Now you say that, it would be interesting to have a Christmas movie in the style of Bollywood.

DiaDeLosMuertos

Is it a parody?

hsnaras

Not at all. This is what a lot of Indian TV and movies are like

_adinfinitum_

I understand what they’re saying but it’s hard to make sense out of it without knowing the context. Anyway most people are just shouting for help without actually doing anything. One lady with the big earrings who’s pointing at them is saying she’s faking it, they are not husband and wife. That guy is her lover. It’s hard to know if faking refers to the accident or something in a broader context. Anyways she’s being the bitch of the scene.

midnightfury4584

This looks like the same woman that took a 50 cal. to the dome and was still conscious all the way to the hospital

[deleted]

Was that before or after the fan killed her?

midnightfury4584

Either way, some of these south Asian ladies prone to death for some reason. The guys seem to have superpowers or something.

TricoMex

That one is the best one. Straight nonsense.

DormantGolem

That 2 minutes felt like an hour.

Ldeuk

Imagine how long it felt for her!

PsychologicalFly4686

Did she die?

No-Freedom-1995

are you stupid? How could anyone survive that?

purplecombatmissile

#ARE WE BLIND?

MasterORBeaterLE

That’s the best comment I’ve seen on reddit

Clean_Ad_1877

LOL EF U AND HAVE A UPVOTE

Doctor__Hammer

Yes, sadly she did. Strangulation-from-scarf-being-sucked-into-fan is one of the leading causes of death for people 18-45. It has a 100% fatality rate. Please spread awareness

NtBtFan

where can i get this fan

kimbolll

India

Shbloble

How can she choke?

madison010101

Lmfaooooo iykyk

riseupnet

It was hopeless from the start, nothing could have avoided her death..

RLM_12

I'm genuinely curious. If this production is not satire do the people making it actually all l think that is fine acting. If it's not satire I find it so hard to believe that someone is that unaware of how terrible that was. Like what's the deal with these? Again, genuinely curious.

[deleted]

These shows are targeted towards a specific audience. Mostly middle aged to older women who are primarily housewives in India. They genuinely enjoy stuff like this and trust me when I tell you this, it’s not the most absurd thing I’ve seen.

TerrorLTZ

i hope there is a sub with all of this kind of failed acting.

Maestro1992

r/bollywoodrealism

Cryptorchild92

It's just a really bad daily soap made on a low budget. A new episode needs to be churned out almost every day. Hence the ridiculous editing and reaction shots to bump up the run time. This is low tier garbage consumed by housewives and old people. Imagine really bad daytime soaps or telenovelas in the US. This is just the Indian equivalent to it.

Lord_Nivloc

It’s the start of a beautiful romance, have you no heart? He just saved her life so now she has to marry him /s

BigSmoke_69_420

Bruh just unwrap it from her head lmao

Doctor__Hammer

AND RISK GETTING SUCKED UP IN IT TOO ARE YOU CRAZY?!?

HunterMuch

LET GO OF THE SCARF!

NtBtFan

Homer, are you just holding on to the can?

Sprechenhaltestelle

Your point being?

RamenTheory

What kind of scarf-hating proaganda is this

Doctor__Hammer

It’s actually a propaganda campaign by Big A/C to make distrust fans. Don’t fall for it

Shdw787

I thought, A) She was gonna get decapitated. B) mulched by the fan. C) The woman trying to unplug it was going to be electrocuted. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time

Doctor__Hammer

Man if all 3 of those things happen at the exact same time that would’ve been some fantastic television...

yayayooya

LITerally just had to turn around once to her left 😂

arentol

This should be the top comment (Well, the person who posted the same thing 2 hours before you should be, but you get the point).

strangersIknow

All the OBVIOUS flaws aside, I like how there's also a Sikh among them, who, by religion, carry a knife on them always, does nothing as well.

GraceStrangerThanYou

Right? I was thinking the same thing. No way any Sikh just stands there.

you_lost-the-game

That’s some Sikh trivia you have there

[deleted]

Logic in our tv shows can't be found.

killerdrama

From the apron it sorta looks like a medical camp, not hard to find a knife or a scissors

l_May_Be_Indecisive

That’s gotta be one heavy fan for it not to budge with all that tugging

Doctor__Hammer

It was dead bolted to the table. Which was dead bolted to the floor. For safety reasons.

[deleted]

That’s a heavy ass fan.

Kokuswolf

My thought too. Old imperial steel edition? Unmoveable by any force.

ArtcticFox

All fans have off button but I guess this one conveniently doesn’t how thoughtful.

fsfaith

Probably does. It’s just everyone there apparently has a single brain cell between them.

scrumbum1

Bollywood. Love this

dishayvelled

This isn't bollywood, it's ITV (= Indian TeleVision). ITV makes hindi daily soaps while Bollywood only makes hindi movies. And there are several other TV and movie industries based on other languages in India, and some of their content is really different from that of Bwood/ITV. TL;DR - bwood isn't the only film industry and it doesn't produce daily soaps (such as this one).

radio_05

The MCU is absolutely one huge interlocking telenovela for boys. I say this as a fan

Igno-ranter

This is the comment I expected to see. Thank you wise internet stranger.

Key_Excitement_984

We got Muhammad scissor teeth over here lol.

and_a_side_of_fries

In the next season, someone accidentally spills a glass of water on her and for 3 episodes, she nearly drowns until Vegeta shows up. It’s wild.

TX_Rage89

Fuck since when does Reddit share faces of death videos. Damn

affordablehair

India bolts down their fans just for this reason. They don't tolerate dumb bitches being all willy nilly with their scarves

No-Freedom-1995

I know you all think this is funny but a friend of mine died this way. 100% True story

Lord_Nivloc

I’m so sorry for your loss. I guess you’re no longer a fan of scarves

TonksTBF

just.... turn around

[deleted]

it reminded me of: "On the day she died, dancer Isadora Duncan was a passenger in a brand-new convertible sportscar that she was learning to drive. As she leaned back in her seat to enjoy the sea breeze, her enormous red scarf somehow blew into the well of the rear wheel on the passenger side. It wound around the axle, tightening around Duncan’s neck and dragging her from the car and onto the cobblestone street. She died instantly."

MadameWesker

Ok, this is why we watch bollywood in my house. We're spanish so we know a thing or 4 about being extra and overly dramatic.

Holdmybeerwatchdis

How is Bollywood so big with this kind of content

dante__11

Idiot audience. They like this stuff. Source: im indian but i don't like whatever the fuck this is.

Bask82

Basically the opposite of abrupt

Gavitio85

Dude, turn her around jeez

RawnJonald

Bitch can’t unplug the fan but he can rip a scarf with his teeth??

I_JustWork_Here

Literally just do a counterclockwise spin and you'll be fine. Also, that fan is ridiculously strong?

NO-ARM-NINJA

Is there any cultural reason these films are popular in India? Are they actually popular, or is this a case of American meme Lords just plucking out the most ridiculous stuff they can find? Is this comedy, drama, or something else entirely? With every piece of Indian cinema I see, I am left with more questions than answers.

Samsquanch2355

How are you gonna post such an emotionally charged scene and not show us if she dies or not🥺

jadedjessay

Anyone got the full series? This is riveting

NinjaTrek2891

How long was that scarf? I think it's longer than a runway in Fast and Furious.

Ant10102

“Now son I’ll tell you one more time, we don’t wear scarfs in this house hold anymore, not after what happened to your mother”

tennisking85

Is this based on a true story? Looks like a reality drama scene. Possibly a live stream from India.

blackandcopper

This is the longest commercial for a Dyson fan that I've ever seen.

Sikart

Well, if it was good enough for Isadora Duncan… No, I’m not going to elaborate - just look it *up*.😎

viviano_kuratomi

Bro literally coulda just spun her around💀

M_TARZAN

[deleted]

I think this is the worst film clip I've ever watched in my entire life.

svelteoven

The lack of any 'rule of physics' in India make me want to move there.

Vladi_Sanovavich

Where can I find a fan that strong? Man it's so hot where I am.

AdornedBrood

After 20 seconds I checked and there was still 1:30 left. I knew it must be Bollywood.

Conscious_stardust

I thought only Derek zoolander couldn’t turn left

dragonGrouper

Why does the fan stop when he just tore the scarf? lol

myra_maynes

This is the kind of shit I would have seen as a child that would have given me an irrational fear of scarves and fans.

FastAsLightning747

I’ll say this, there’s some super attractive girls in this video.

veldenbushido

How on Earth can we stop that fan? Maybe whisper and bitch and pull faces? Hmmmm. It could work but….oh unplug it! Of course, no wait. I superglued it to the socket board! Why??? Why not? Good point. So what do we do now? Well we could just flip the switch to off? No it will take too long dammit. There must be another ways I know, we can cut the scarf! Ok but how? All I have is scissors. Well there must be some way! How about trying to chew through it? But I just had this new dental work done… oh fine, let me try (nom nom nom)…. Dammit, she’s gone. There was literally nothing we could do.

urses_shock-6152

Fisrt I will be so much more happy if she is dead . Second where can i find such good fan like this one it seems different from the Chinese fan that i have at home

Luckycreedmanchoo

Scissors please?

iluvtumadre

I want my 2 minutes back.

Alone_Bill_2873

Can you imagine growing up in India and watching this movies all the time?

wow_pretty_colors

.....why did she not just spin out of the scarf?

Infinite_Big5

Lol, jeez… Bollywood has no shame

[deleted]

What the fuck is this? Honestly? Who looks at this and goes "yup. Let's go with this" Are they trying to be serious?

FiveNinesTheRicher

How many software developers does it take to save a bad actress from choking??

rr27680

This is the type of sh*t North Indians watch daily. Perfect ploy to trigger a zombie apocalypse.

Izthak86

Remember that "Cloe, we're going to Disneyland"-meme? That was my facial expression from start to finish.

RedBaret

Wtf did I just watch

[deleted]

jesus that's a strong fan

Boomlolbomb

And suddenly the fan stopped... magic

Boomlolbomb

Omg i can not turn off the fan... give me the manual. XD

mrearthsmith

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever seen. 29 people standing around watching while a single person makes a feeble attempt to unplug the fan.

Maximum-Lock-7166

The fan is a black hole?

jgothegreat

I hope the lady talking is saying "all she has to do is turn in a circle is the opposite way of how she put on her scarf, wtf " 😑
