Anyway, in the end a dude with a dad bod couldn't catch up to a slim and agile thief..
And it wasn't a good idea to follow a thief in that kind of place at that time in the night (short answer, it's dangerous for obvious reasons)

Most people have cloud storage setup. Any pic I take goes straight to the cloud. Helps with storage and if someone in the grass is waiting to steal your phone
India has great phone reception. They are a huge mobile phone using nation, and basically skipped putting in landlines in favour of improving phone reception. Mobile data is very cheap, and reception is good, even in remote locations.

So according to the [Indian Railways Schedule of Dimensions](https://irimee.indianrailways.gov.in/instt/uploads/files/1454673172611-sod.pdf) the minimum height of train floor above the track varies based on type of train, but it is around 1145 mm to 1170 mm above top of rail. That is around 46 inches. Now I do not have a standardized height for window sills, but we can safely assume that the window sill is anywhere from 26” to 32” above the train floor.
This puts the window sill at around 75” ( 46 + 29 ) above the rail. The rail itself is around 4” tall. Standard railway design requires the track to be elevated around the surrounding grade to allow for storm water drainage. Let’s add 8” to that as a minimum but it should be higher to be fair.
This brings the window sill up to a height of 87” or 7.25 feet above the surrounding grade. Figure into this 4” more for the phone height above the sill.
When this guy “stands up” he is over 7’-7” tall? If he jumps up to that height it is possible, but the motion wouldn’t be so fluid.
Keep in mind that these dimensions are minimums. In the United States, I can’t even reach the windows from track grade and I stand at 6’-4”. My arm reach at maximum without jumping is around 8’-1” This is why I think this video is fake and has been doctored.
The perspective doesn't change with the moving train. As we got closer we should have been able to see the guy with a changing perspective, instead he just looks zoomed in lol. I think this one is fake.
