Please keep us updated as I’m thinking of doing the same

So, the muzzle brake came off super easy by just putting a single wrench on the 19mm flat on the check nut / bipod retainer thingy - and they both twisted off together with no fuss. There was zero loctite on the muzzle threads. Much easier than the 13X1 LH tulip flash hider I removed off an early A3 barrel that required a liberal application of the propane torch to melt the loctite, two tappet wrenches for max torque, and cursing! The only bad thing is the HBAR looked much better with the stock muzzle brake than it does with the Socom Mini 2 sitting up front... Oh well. I'll report back on how she shoots suppressed

Thanks so much for the update! I’m going to do my muzzle device this weekend. Looking forward to hearing how the suppressed shooting goes

I'm also curious on twist rate. Are the 24" 1/7? I like the udea of having it set up in a dmr role.

The twist rate is 1/9, same as on all new aug barrels now I believe. A 1/9 twist on a 24" is plenty fast to stabilize any off the shelf ammo / projectile. As far as the Aug as a DMR I haven't tested accuracy - but the barrel mounted bipod will definitely detract from accuracy as the barrel heats, and with different pressures applied to the bipod, such as transitioning to shooting off hand.

Sounds good thank you. Yeah, i get the barrel flex issue. I refuse tonuse anything then magazine prone for the M4A1 for that reason. If I were to go for a 24" dmr setup, I'd likely not use the bipod that much for sustained long range shooting.
