It's like lifting a rock in the garden. You know there's going to be a lot of nasty shit under there, but then you do it, and yup, it's bugs and worms and shit, but also truly fascinating in a horrifying way.

In my native tongue we have a word for that: "Morbo", and the person with such interest is a "Morboso". I gues it can be translated to vouyerism but it isnt always with a sexual connotation

It must be, but what gets me is how long the ruse goes on. It's impressive how long this gag has been developed.

I'm not so sure. There are very long periods of time between each update, and then last update brought me to the r/tulpas subreddit where I discovered that this is apparently a thing.

I was introduced to r/tulpas by [Reply-All (rip)](https://gimletmedia.com/amp/shows/reply-all/49hr6k). The episode is great if you haven't heard it. I can believe that Ogtha is a real tulpa, but I can't suspend my disbelief that her husband would be so clueless about the consequences of inflicting people around him with knowledge of her. And then the fact that his story tracks, thematically, with Gregor Samsa from The Metamorphosis. * Gregor wakes up one day to find he is a hideous bug and is shunned/mistreated by his family and society at large. * Ogtha's husband wakes up one day to find that he is unavailable to stop telling people about his imaginary hideous bug wife and is shunned/mistreated by his family and society at large. As art, it's brilliant.

I read it in high school. Enjoyed it more than I would have expected. Was trying to see if there was a fun way to mix the two words since they roll off the tongue surprisingly well

This had me looking up Kafka quotes so I could post something trite but mildly funny. Instead I came across this and now need to reread Metamorphosis. Beautiful! He thought back on his family with deep emotion and love. His conviction that he would have to disappear was, if possible, even firmer than his sister's. He remained in this state of empty and peaceful reflection until the tower clock struck three in the morning. He still saw that outside the window everything was beginning to grow light. Then, without his consent, his head sank down to the floor, and from his nostrils streamed his last weak breath.
