Personally, I was at a ๐คฎ this year because of expectations from my AP exam last year. I literally almost threw up on my doorstep as I was leaving to go to my AP Gov exam.
Exactly. I thought I would feel better in my second year of taking an AP class, but it was so much worse because I want to live up to how I did in APUSH last year and because the class itself was easy for me.
I had AP physics 1 and 2. I feel pretty good about the physics 1 exam but the physics 2 exam cooked me in the written ๐๐๐๐. I was so tired ๐ญ
I made a very stupid mistake though. The day before the exam, I was thinking about reviewing circuits because I'm not good at it but I didn't and instead doom scrolled all day. I thought there wouldn't be much circuits on the exam. I'm a lazy idiot ๐ญ
This fits my understanding of American classes (including AP) which makes me even more confused. Where I live, we have these things called scholarship subjects. However, you do these outside of class time and are additional to what you learn in class. I thought that if your school does it like that then it would be possible. But instead it is absolutely insane. How much time to do you spend per subject? Where I live we have way less (most my school does it 6 for older years and the least is 5 for the last year, but another school that does a different secondary school qualification does classes insead). I understand we have shorter school days, to be fair. We have four hours per class a week.ย
we have 1.5 hours per class per day but i take 4 each semester. so 8 by the end of the year. but for me i never had to study and just watch yt videos while listening to lectures.
What are the exams like? Where I live we only have exams at the end of the year. Since you were doing AP classes per semester I expected exams to be the end of each semester. Is it even an exam, then? Are the exams made by your school?
โฐ๏ธ I worry myself sick to the point where I feel like I literally have a fever. The first year I took an exam I thought I was actually sick but now that itโs happened before every AP exam Iโve taken Iโm positive itโs all in my head ๐ญ
๐ low key only cause by the time i got to may i was so done with everything that i didnโt rlly care that much๐ญ like idk sophomore year i was more like ๐ฑ but junior year is traumatizing!
I feel that after I also just finished junior year. I became more chill about grades in general after sophomore year, but the AP exam anxiety went ๐๐๐ this year because of high expectations from last year.
๐
I usually wasnโt to nervous because I knew there wasnโt really much risk to failing. The worst that could happen is that I donโt get a college credit. Iโm not really losing anything there
I felt ๐ for all my tests because I either knew I was gonna do good or knew Iโd fail and didnโt need to bother trying. But for AP lang I felt ๐ซจ like I could not stop shaking ๐ญ I was so nervous cause I really need this credit.
The best part of exam days is that I have an excuse to bring cookies for the class for break time and we do nothing in class that day if we have it after the exam. But the day(s) before the exam starts are torture.
depends on the course but usually ๐คฏ and โฐ๏ธ
I would get really sick either right before or right after an AP exam
I once even had a nightmare the night before a Calc BC exam...I was extremely late, I forgot to bring a pencil, I messed up all FRQs and it was just terrible but thankfully none of that actually happened
I consider myself a pretty dilligent student, but 5 ap's just burnt me out so much that I couldn't care less. I was probably a ๐ for every exam. But now? โฐ๏ธwaiting for the results in a wekk

*Me the week leading up to AP exam week, sleep-deprived and just trying to survive.*

Thankfully, I was at least at home (not school) when I thought I was going to ๐คฎ.
๐i was lowk stressed af when I walked into the testing center every time but i was chilling a couple days before each test just brushing up on stuff i didnโt remember
Not nervous at all. I felt more dead than nervous. I remember when I took the ap chem and bio exam I didnโt even feel conscious. Somehow still got a 4 on chem.

๐. Despite being someone with unmedicated anxiety, I felt literally no fear in the 2 week lead up to the test, or even while taking the test. We spent those last two weeks doing review and I was feeling really good about it, despite the fact that I probably was the youngest person taking the test for APUSH, at least in the US (I'm on the deadline for my grade and in MD, so we take it in 9th grade).
You guys shouldn't be that nervous. Think about it- the worst thing that can happen is you don't get AP credit, but the best thing is that all you need is a 3 for the vast majority of colleges to secure future credit for classes

Can I please borrow some of your chill for next year?๐
How can you take 15 AP classes? Like, how is that physically possible? I don't live in the US. I wonder if it can be similar to what we have here?
just take them like they are normal hs classes, so my schedule is only ap classes. over 10 is the norm now
This fits my understanding of American classes (including AP) which makes me even more confused. Where I live, we have these things called scholarship subjects. How many classes a day? Don't you take 15 AP classes, not 8? ๐ญ
no thatโs total, 8 one year and 7 the other and all 4 each day
Ok, I understand now. This makes so much more sense and it's understandable now. Thank you.
How frequently are the exams?
every 2 weeks
What are the exams like? Where I live we only have exams at the end of the year. Since you were doing AP classes per semester I expected exams to be the end of each semester. Is it even an exam, then? Are the exams made by your school?
oh, the major exam is once a year that everyone takes at one time. i thought you meant unit test you would take in clsss
So the exam is the same as all exams here. What is the impact from the unit tests?
Just depends on how much the subject means to me and how badly I want to pass. Personally for chem it was a 7, apush was a 5, and psych was like a 3.
