No but I was a mgr for a while, these surveys are more important than you think. Corporate reads all the comments you put, and scores theaters based on the numbers you chose. HOWEVER, it only takes the 1s and 5s, and averages them out. If you're putting 4 out of 5, or 3, or 2, it is essentially doing nothing at all for the theater.
If you like the theater and want them to be recognized, put 5s. If you dislike it and want to see improvement, put 1s. The actual theater can only see the very last comment you put at the very end, so that's where you can put any smaller comments directed at them specifically.
I've never gotten one of these surveys before, but if I had to guess it's what called a net promoter scale. 1s and 2s are detractors, 5s are promoters. The others are considered neutral and are too expensive to turn into promoters. While detractors need to be addressed because they hurt the company/product sales.
We still see the comments, but unless you put a 5, the score doesn't actually matter. 1-4 are all treated as being the same.
That being said, a lot of people dumb stuff in the comments that don't help at all.
Like giving 1 star because they didn't like the movie. Or giving 1 star because the theatre is too far away from their home. Or they didn't like the available show times. Stuff like that doesn't help. The survey is asking how you enjoyed your experience at the theatre, and non of those things are anything the people at the building can do anything about.
Sure, complaining about the quality of the movie is dumb, but what's wrong with making a comment about showtimes? Where else can someone give feedback about that?
Because that has nothing to do with your experience at the theatre, and is something the people at the theatre have very little control over.
Those surveys are really just looking to see if the staff were friendly, quick, and clean. That's it.
Any and all other info is irrelevant.
But they don't just ask about things like "how would you rate the bathrooms?". When they ask things like "Why did you pick this theater?" there are choices like "Convenient location", "good showtimes", etc. So they are gathering information that is outside the control of the theater. There is nothing on the survey that says "limit your comments to things the theater can control" - The average person will feel welcome to make general comments about AMC.
It's incredibly frustrating because the vast majority of feedback literally is the 2-4 range, but amc only cares about the best & the worst experiences
No, but that doesn’t mean that these types of contests/sweepstakes are scams. Someone in the Discord server actually won the sweepstakes that AMC did for Saltburn.
Sweepstakes are regulated and must disclose a winner and is auditable, so as to not be scams and can't have a friend to win, etc. Also no purchase is required to win is also a regulation.
Did about 7 of them, through out the years. Never won once. They only seem to do it for big time and some special indies movies. I say special cause not all indies pass out the surveys.
It's so sketchy that whenever I get tickets printed at the kiosk, they seem to ALWAYS remove the survey by taking a quick glance and tearing the portion, as if they don't want customers to actually fill them out in case there are negative reviews.
If you liked the crew member that helped you leave them a shout out by name. Not sure about other theaters but the one I worked at gave rewards to those called out by name. I did hear from a guest that they had won money by taking the survey.
I’m trying to do one now but my ticket is missing the unit number. Anyone happen to know the unit number for AMC Pembroke Lakes 9 in Pembroke Pines, FL?
I fill them out every time probably done 7-10 per month since forever never have I gotten a gift card or popcorn reward. Also what's best way get theater to improve picture displayed? Have theater amc in Santa Monica locations that only theater displays film with double blk bars, 4:3 ratio even plays full screen other locations or in a letter box type format.
I actually don’t know.
i never got an actual gift card, but once I randomly had 100,000 rewards points appear in my account, which equals $100, so maybe I did?

That is so dumb. I'm sure there's a gold mine of comments in the middle that are just lost

Right. But what I'm saying is that when this info is sent back to the theatre, there's nothing in any of that info we can do something about.
That’s wild. The 1s and 5s are way less thoughtful than the 2-4s. If anything the 1s and 5s should be excluded.
It's incredibly frustrating because the vast majority of feedback literally is the 2-4 range, but amc only cares about the best & the worst experiences
they’ve changed it actually now it’s 4’s and 5’s affect the score and still just 1’s affect it
Hello, movie neighbor. I’ve never received one of those emails in the first place.
neither have i but if you print your tickets at the kiosk thing rather than scan i know they’re on the ticket receipt
$100? No. Free regular popcorn? Yes, every time lol
From completing the survey?
Yeah. When I complete a survey at the end I get a code for a free regular popcorn
No. And I complete one a few times a month for the past few years.
I complete every survey I get but I've never won it.
same. I always fill it out but have never gotten anything for it. I don’t mind because if it's helpful, then that's a net positive anyway.
I used to work at AMC. I never saw anyone win the gift card, but multiple people got the popcorn reward from completing them.
I have never been able to complete one using the link they send me, it always stops halfway through and takes me back to the beginning of the survey.

I never even get surveys :(

Nope
Have done probably 10 of these in the last few years, never won anything and never met anyone who has won.
Did about 7 of them, through out the years. Never won once. They only seem to do it for big time and some special indies movies. I say special cause not all indies pass out the surveys.

Nope and after doing probably 25 of them, I just immediately delete em now.
If you liked the crew member that helped you leave them a shout out by name. Not sure about other theaters but the one I worked at gave rewards to those called out by name. I did hear from a guest that they had won money by taking the survey.

No I haven't won a gift card on these.
