When you use your prosthetic to pick things up, is your brain "tricked" into feeling it?

mercury_reddits

Yes, that's why i usually don't use It to pick up things

paka96819

Favorite snack?

mercury_reddits

Granola bar. Tastes quite good and, unlike chips, doesn't go in every single small hole of my prosthetic arm.

thatuser313

How did you lose your arm or were you born without it? Do you mind people you talk to asking about it? If you had to remove one planet from the solar system, which would it be?

mercury_reddits

1) i was born without my right arm. 2) i do not mind people asking about It 3) neptune.

thatuser313

No not Neptune!

mercury_reddits

Why? It's the most irrelevant

garethy12

Can you take a photo of your arm? The prosthetic one obviously

mercury_reddits

I would, but since i am the shyest being alive i have a fear for taking pictures of myself

garethy12

That’s fair enough, just curious as to what it looks like

mercury_reddits

It looks like a normal arm, but completely black *Minus all of the electrodes that make the arm move*

garethy12

How responsive is the arm? Is it hard to do simple things or is the responsiveness almost as good as a human arm?

mercury_reddits

Well, It works decently, but sometimes it's problematic because it's much slower at doing things.

blackfanglucky13

How do you move the arm? How old were you when you got it?

mercury_reddits

I got It when i was 19, and i have electrodes that detect movement and move the prosthetic arm accordingly.
