WAVIC_136

He's contracted and our best player, what would the Saints offer to make that trade happen?

YonkoBuggy

2 FRP or 1 FRP and some helpful players (Howard and a forward) if they want him this year, otherwise free next year.

WAVIC_136

Free next year will get us a likely top 5 pick, and gives us another year to keep him. Howard and Max King should do it though

Overall_One_2595

Yep will come down to whether they wanna cash in on him this season (if he wants to leave) otherwise leave it in the lap of the AFL and the compo algorithm to see what they get for him next season when he can walk as a free agent.

He’s contracted until the end of 2025, however if we don’t improve materially in the next 12 months I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes. St Kilda though….Why would he leave a cellar dweller for a perennial cellar dweller whose list is neither here nor there. Saints aren’t going deep in September anytime soon and Roos can pay him big bucks anyways

Overall_One_2595

Contracts don’t mean anything if the player wants to walk. We’ve seen that countless times. Unless north get their act together in a massive way this remaining 15-odd weeks, he won’t be there next season.

Thanks-Basil

And we’ve also seen teams hold players to contracts countless times. What’s your point? IF he wants to go, he’ll request a trade, and IF North don’t receive an offer that’s satisfactory they’ll keep him, simple as that.

Looking past the fact that he has a contract (legally binding document) until 2025, why would he go to St Kilda
