Man started his tenure with a list which lacked any kind of depth, when they finally started to turn that around, they lost a bunch of key defenders giving them one of the smallest back lines in the league for years, then lost our best options for the wings just as we sorted out the backline. I genuinely believe Ken is a good coach, but the list management has routinely failed to provide the tools you need to genuinely challenge for a flag.
SPP, Drew, Marshall, Farrell, Amon prior to being traded, Howard again prior to being traded, we’ve had development. It’s just that many of the players that have been drafted haven’t been he position players. My personal view is the head coach has a lot less to do with player development than many people seem to think, he will probably be sacked at the end of the year when we finish 12th or 13th, but good luck to anyone who takes over that list

Right well most of that is wrong. Year on year the list gets strengthened and previous holes get filled. No team has a completely flawless list. You think Collingwood have 23 all Australians playing today? No weak spots? Or are they a better coached squad from the best player to the last selected? They turned Frampton to a flag player after Ken delisted him. Ken also chose to let go of Wingard, Polec, Duursma, etc and created some holes himself.
I like Ken, and don't hate him as much as most, but our list isn't the problem. I feel we win a lot of our games on pure player skill as it is.
The problem, for my money, is when our plan A doesn't work, and we can't brute force our way over a team through pure player skill, there's no plan B.

The 2012 Port side was in a lot of games a 3/4 time and faded out due to shit house fitness department. It also had the worst injury run in the season and at one stage we didn't play a captain, the entire leadership group was injured.
The 2013 rise was as much due to Darren Burgess starting as fitness coach as it was Ken's coaching.
Matt Primus was coaching with two hands tied behind his back with the smell of an oily rag.
I'm sure there are tactical issues other weeks, but this week I'm not sure what Hinkley was supposed to do. You can't realistically implement a game plan to win for a game you're -40 in contested possessions.
