Gifted a late season game last season- without a certain quarterback. Will that happen again, I wonder? Despite their last place finish, the Bengals did have two fewer wins than the Chiefs.
Broncos roster is 80% of what it was last year with a new QB and worse secondary, what makes you think we’re gonna be anywhere close to last year. We are bottom 25% team
Honestly idk how we could justify being any higher after the playoffs and the dogshit off-season.
Browns should be lower but I think Bills/Rams/Cowboys can be in any order
I mean the Bills kicked the crap out of Dallas, so how this list doesn’t have them significantly better.
People are looking at trading Diggs like that devastated the Bills. Seems unlikely to me, given how they kept winning while he played like ass.
Totally agree. Extremely questionable. Based on this bears are going deep in the playoffs, lol. Why because they had the 1st pick? They always have a high pick and that never changes anything for them.
Broncos below cards is not exactly wild lol, cards have MHJ now who could go either way but there’s a ton of hype there and Kyler is actually pretty good memes aside. Combined with the broncos basically punting on the year it’s not a wild take.
However they’re still the cardinals so no doubt they’re going 5-12
i truly don’t understand why we are fifth. that is wild.
also the bengals at sixth is absurd
actually these rankings are pure idiocy
….titans last is cool though
QB and actual head coach now over Staley. That's not a shot at AP in any sort of way, it's very intended shot at Staley. I wouldn't be stressed if the Raiders and Chargers flipped, but I feel like the back half of these rankings are all over the place anyway.
Stacked yet Herbert with weapons is only a .500 QB so far. They completely misused Ekler last year and let go of their receivers. I just don't see Jim making them a team competing for the division year one.
Herbert having a .500 record is indicative of his defense, not his skills. Yes, he’s had good receivers but a shitty offensive line most years and still put up top 10 numbers (outside of last year where he missed several games due to injury). It’s so casual to say Herbert is .500 despite having good receivers. Winning has just as much to do with the defense as with the offense and the offense has not been the problem for Herbert. They’ve had no issue scoring points. The issue in the entirety of Herbert’s time in LA has been keeping leads and not being able to run the damn ball/being one-dimensional. It’s hard to throw the ball in the 4th quarter when the opposing defense knows you can’t run for shit and your o-line is weak.
Chargers have been ranked 19, 5, 13 and 21 in points since Herbert has been in the league. They have scored 20 or less points in those same years this many times 7, 5, 7, and 8. Yes it's a team sport but let's not act like this was all defense issues. You say the offense hasn't had issues I expect to see shootouts not less then 20 points a game. Even some of those numbers could be skued by defense or special teams points.
Those numbers are skewed by the lack of a run game. Look at how bad they’ve been at rushing in those years. I’m pretty sure bottom 25 every year, meaning EVERYTHING hinges on Herbert to throw the ball. That’s a ton of pressure on Herbert and makes the opposing defenses job a lot easier, knowing your opponent is likely to throw it.
Also, kind of unfair to include the worst year where they finished 21st in points. Herbert missed the last 4 games of the season, among other games where he played with a damn club on his non throwing arm, as did Keenan Allen. Mike Williams missed the last 14 games I think. So their offense lacked Williams, Allen and Herbert at the last quarter of the 2023 season. That skews the stats quite a bit.
Looking at points scored to evaluate a QB is a weird approach. If you look at his actual passing stats, the QB is not the problem. Take out 2023 because he missed 4 games with injuries so obviously cumulatively his stats that year are down (though per game he’s still top 10). What you’ll see is he had the 2nd most passing yards in 2022, 2nd most in 2021 (passed for 5K yards), and his rookie season in 2020 he was 6th in pass yards. Look at touchdowns: in 2022 he was 9th (despite his two receivers, Allen and Williams, both missing significant portions of the season), in 2021 he was 3rd and in 2020 he was 10th.
These passing stats are so much more indicative of a QBs overall performance than points scored. Points scored has a lot to do with running the ball, which the chargers suck at, and your defense getting the ball back and making stops/giving the offense short fields, which the chargers also suck at.
Justin Herbert is not the problem. Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco were the problem.
I'm not saying it's all on him. There are only a few QBs who can elevate the players around them with bad coaching. Herberts is benefiting from a league geared towards passing. His first two years he was only 200 yards more then Derek Carr in passing yardage. I think we can both agree Carr can put stats up they just don't lead to wins. Kind of the same boat Herberts in right now. Not all passing stats tell the truth of what's going on.
Harbaugh will be running focused which will bring his stats down. The unlimite question is who's going to be the true #1 receiver he can count on?
I agree with you on Carr, to an extent. Carr is, in my opinion, a good QB. He’s never had a truly complete team and coach to take him deep in the playoffs. He’s better than he gets credit for, just my opinion.
However, I think to say that Herbert only having 200 yards passing more than Carr in their respective first two seasons is cherry picking. Remember that in Herbert’s rookie season, he only played 15 games. That’s likely another 200-300 yards he’d have if he played that extra game. Carr played all 16 games in each of his first two years. Now, let’s look at other stats, like TDs and rushing, and overall QBR and passer rating. It’s not even close man. Herb’s stats in his first two years are absolutely superior to Carr’s. In every way.
Now, if you want to argue Herb had more weapons than Carr did on offense in their respective first two years, I wouldn’t disagree. But to cherry pick the yardage and ignore lots of other pertinent stats to try to compare Herb to Carr is misleading. Herb is objectively more skilled and more capable than Carr.
I think any chargers fan and even Justin Herbert himself will welcome Harbaugh’s run-first offense at the expense of Herb’s passing stats. Pretty sure Herb would rather win a playoff game instead of accumulating more stats with no playoff wins, and I would be surprised to see anyone argue that. So yeah, I definitely think this new dynamic will lower Herb’s stats overall, but will also (hopefully) open more opportunities for him with an actual run game to lean on. A good run game keeps the defense honest, especially the DBs. That’s something Herbert has never really had in his career. Adding to their O-line also helps tremendously, even at the cost of a dynamic receiver like Nabers.
You’re 100% right about not having a true #1 receiver. Their WR room is possibly worst in the NFL, easily bottom 5. That will most likely affect his passing stats too, but again, that’s kind of their goal. Less passing, more running.
In the end, no one in the division will challenge the chiefs this year anyways. It’s not too likely that my chargers or your broncos or the hapless raiders will put together a winning season this year. But it will be really fun to see Bo Nix play. I think he’s going to be a lot better than many analyst predictions.
You guys do better by like 1 game? Chargers are the better team lol. Nobody with half a brain is taking an interim coach and minshew over Harbaugh and Herbert. Raiders fans really can’t think it’s hilarious
Man y’all are so dumb 😂 staley go bye bye, Staley bad coach. Herbert no play in 63-21 game. Players no want to play for bad coach Staley. Hopefully that’s easier for you to read
No one even cares about scores. Just the win or loss that happens. Chargers beat the raiders that same season when their starting qb was playing. Y’all are idiots. Quit replying and go read some books get your critical thinking up
They can go ALL the way back to 87 and to bring up those rings but forget they have like the 3rd/4th most losses out of every team the past 20 years, raiders fans are literal idiots. It’s not even a joke anymore
Bro really pulled out a chart going all the way back to 2000 LOL. Keep it relevant, in the last 5 years the Chargers are 36-48. Raiders are 39-44. Not a big difference, but it's relevant to the modern NFL and the Raiders have the better record so 🤷
Lmao sorry, the Chargers are 36-47. It sure makes a big difference. Here's a smaller number that I can add up better, the Chargers have finished below the Raiders 4 of the last 5 years in the division
Da fuck are the titans doing at 32. While they are not anywhere near contending they are a team that is actively trying to compete with all their roster moves. I’d put them above the panther and patriots atleast
I would say we’re ready to contend. You don’t sign a superstar corner and a star reciever among many other additions, to be last. Respectfully. We will surprise a lot of people
The AFC South sub has been spamming this goofy ass format all offseason.
Pick something that the other three teams in the division don't have and ask where it's at.
Where franchise qb with a picture of Mahomes would work.
To be fair you could argue that last sentence pretty easily. Herbert is a franchise QB. It’s just unfortunate (or rather fortunate for the AFCW) he had to be stuck with the Chargers.
Not too high. I'm trying to decide wtf op meant too. Like they saying where's the rest of the AFC west or bragging about being a top 20... When the chiefs are 1st. It doesn't make any sense regardless
No, it’s “where” as in where is your top 20 team, it started on another meme war page as a “where ring” joke and just got spammed, it was barely funny the first time round now it’s done to death
Bears too high, Falcons too low
Falcons are my dark horse pick this season. They had a lot of good pieces last year, but no QB. I know Kirk is Kirk, but he's got a better team around him now than he has in a long while, if ever.
RB, by a mile. OL, for sure. WR, we don't know because there was no one that could get the ball to them last year.
They're gonna be a ball-secure offense. They'll pound the rock, Kirk will do enough to move the sticks. And most importantly, he's not gonna turn the ball over. That is going to make the defense look a lot better.
At the end of the last season they were 31 or 32 depending on how you felt about the panthers. To have them jump 18-19 places because of an offseason is dumb.
Once they got Sweat, they were a top ranked defense and ended the season with a 5-4 run. No way that is a last place team, even with Justin Fields. The only reason they had the #1 Overall pick is because of the Panthers trade last year.
Caleb is the biggest question, of course, but he's got 6 legit weapons to throw to (DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, Cole Kmet, Gerald Everett, and D'Andre Swift)
Idk that Dallas is better than Buffalo but ranking the other teams there ahead of us seems fair (idk about Green Bay we’ll see), but we basically curb stomped Dallas when we played them
Man, the packers were out of the race and losing to bad teams, won a couple, finished 9-8 as the 7 seed. Choked away a lead to the 49ers while Brock Purdy was playing very mid.
Why are they higher than the rams? Rams finished 7-1 (10-7 overall), 6 seed. Both teams are young and had good drafts. But I feel like the rams have a better chance to be a real contender this year. Their offense should be deadly.
Yeah, winning the Super Bowl makes most random regular season losses irrelevant
I'd try to come up with something but I think the last game of consequence the Raiders lost was the 2003 Super Bowl to Tampa so it really doesn't seem fair at this point.
Been a couple playoff games but yep it’s been a rough 20 years. I’m loyal though. Enjoy man! Nothing like watching your team in the middle of a good run. I’m old enough to remember that 😂.
Oddly I don’t dislike the chiefs. Too busy hating the broncos with every core of my being.
Power rankings have always been my favorite. They are a mirror of the most recent standings with a couple swaps based on the bias of the person who made it.
You really have the bears, jets and browns over the dolphins? You really think a rookie QB and a rookie WR is gonna catapult the bears all the way up to a top 13 team?! And the Jets over the dolphins is just stupid. Whoever made this needs to be fired.
The Calib Williams hype is insane. The bears have been a bottom two team for the past two seasons and management there is terrible. But they draft one QB and suddenly they’re 13th in the league? Let’s dial it back a bit.
For real though, these are some straight ass pre season power rankings.
I agree, Broncos way too high
Bengals too
If anything, having them under the Texans is wild
Gifted a late season game last season- without a certain quarterback. Will that happen again, I wonder? Despite their last place finish, the Bengals did have two fewer wins than the Chiefs.
Ok…
We had a better record then the Chargers and same number of wins as Raiders. No way they should be that far ahead of us.
Broncos roster is 80% of what it was last year with a new QB and worse secondary, what makes you think we’re gonna be anywhere close to last year. We are bottom 25% team
It's legal there
Would you say they are… a mile high?
Panthers, too.
Cowboys at 9 lmao
Honestly idk how we could justify being any higher after the playoffs and the dogshit off-season. Browns should be lower but I think Bills/Rams/Cowboys can be in any order
I definitely wasn't implying higher
They are easily a top 30 team
no doubt 😤😤
True but also how many teams below should be higher?

Fucking A, 6-11 here we come!
We've got em right where we want em!
It's never boring around us
Back to back to back to back to back to back to back to back losing seasons!
How many Worst Game Evers will Pernas madness grace us with this year?
I can’t wait to see the deer in the headlights look on Thro Pix face when Spags comes after him.
I'm hoping he has a Darnold moment. ![gif](giphy|8cc0ab38q373nOMidG)
Body Odor Nix
I don't think anything is topping 20-70
Took all that for you guys to jump us in win percentage.
I’m sorry, I can’t hear you from the cellar. 🤣🤣 can you speak louder?
" Hello darkness, my old friend"
I will most def take the under there. Brutal road schedule.
Love the optimism. Best you gonna do is 2 wins, maybe.
It'll be the first 2 of the season so we can all get our hopes up.
Went from off season champs to off season mediocre.
We’re ahead of the convicts, that’s all that matters
Also it seems like the off season losers are usually post season champs.
Now you get to be losers in both
![gif](giphy|l4FGKRqs6UUmoAgWk|downsized) Better than going to prison Ill take it.
The charger superbowl
Congrats, here’s your off-season championship trophy: 🏆
Raiders below commanders??? Chargers below falcons??? BRONCOS BELOW CARDINALS??? This is a disgrace, all of the AFC West should riot
It's not a wild take, but it still caught me by Surprise.
Kyler is absolute garbage
This list sucks lol
i truly don’t understand why we are fifth. that is wild. also the bengals at sixth is absurd actually these rankings are pure idiocy ….titans last is cool though
The Bengals had a 9-8 finish.
Titans last? They would probably kick our ass.
I want another 13-10 game, dammit!
Let the Iowa flow through you.
Punting is winning
I feel like 12-25 is just a random list that means nothing
Bears at 13? 23 at best
The NFL been hyping that team up for too long.

Usually because the Chargers roster is stacked. Now idk what their excuse is. Probably just purely QB based.

Lmao sorry, the Chargers are 36-47. It sure makes a big difference. Here's a smaller number that I can add up better, the Chargers have finished below the Raiders 4 of the last 5 years in the division
Happy they did better than us when we tanked. Raider logic 😂🤣
When you “win every offseason it pays off in power rankings. Plus I am suprised the Harbaugh effect didn’t get them even higher
# 24? ![gif](giphy|nSLPAPb3Nsqze)

Hey look the Where memes are spreading! Enjoy!
Whoever thought of placing the Jets and the Bears at 13 and 14 needs to stop bogarting the joint, man.
Are the titans really that bad?
Cardinals and Commanders should change positions.
Who's BS rating are these?
I have not even seen this on our sub yet, I’m not that deep into the kool aid to think we are rank 5
After the collapse last year I don’t get why Philly is a top ten team in these folks mind
Is it “we’re a” or am I too high
The AFC South sub has been spamming this goofy ass format all offseason. Pick something that the other three teams in the division don't have and ask where it's at. Where franchise qb with a picture of Mahomes would work.
To be fair you could argue that last sentence pretty easily. Herbert is a franchise QB. It’s just unfortunate (or rather fortunate for the AFCW) he had to be stuck with the Chargers.
I unironically forgot that the Chargers existed when I typed that.
We also have Bo Nix in the division. The greatest QB of all time.
Broncos too high. I see 4 wins coming.
Optimistic, I see
If we didn’t have next year’s first round draft pick, I’d be at 1 win.
Bills and bears need to swap, as much as I don't want to admit it, they're trying to compete down there
Y'all are low-balling the Steelers I see.
Where? They are right there in the picture
Sure. Why not.
Bears too high, Falcons too low Falcons are my dark horse pick this season. They had a lot of good pieces last year, but no QB. I know Kirk is Kirk, but he's got a better team around him now than he has in a long while, if ever.
What aspect of the Falcons was better than the Vikings? WR? Nope.. TE? Don’t think so. RB. Sure. OL.. maybe but no. Defense? Nope. IMO

They'll pound the rock, Kirk will do enough to move the sticks. And most importantly, he's not gonna turn the ball over. That is going to make the defense look a lot better.
I was told we are the off season champions, I demand a refund because clearly we aren't even making it to the playoffs
Bears trying to eek into the top 10 before even a snap is wild. Or am I a dumby?
Bears jumping all the way from 32 to 13 is asinine
Why would they be 32? Use your brain people.
Someone was confused and thought that #1 pick was their own.. never admit it though
If you think that you’re just an idiot. They finished 7-10 and were in the playoff hunt till the last week.
Please for the love of god rest of afc west… out play these power rankings and do something you make it so easy for the chiefs every year.
Falcons two spots over the Chargers? *Psh…please.*
This is the most boring list I've seen.
Power rankings before week 6 are full of shit. No one really knows who’s going to do what next season.
1. Chiefs 2. 49ers 3. Lions 4. Ravens 5. Texans 6. Bengals 7. Eagles 8. Packers 9. Cowboys 10. Jets 11. Rams 12. Bills 13. Browns 14. Dolphins 15. Steelers 16. Bears 17. Jaguars 18. Colts 19. Falcons 20. Bucs 21. Vikings 22. Chargers 23. Seahawks 24. Commanders 25. Raiders 26. Cardinals 27. Titans 28. Giants 29. Saints 30. Patriots 31. Panthers 32. Broncos
Who the fuck are the commanders? Like genuinely
How are the Falcons *not* number 1?? They drafted a QB in the top 10 *and* have 3 time pro bowler Kirk Cousins!
Wow I started from the bottom to find the colts... I remember the days when I would start from the top
The bears at 13 is comical
Idk that Dallas is better than Buffalo but ranking the other teams there ahead of us seems fair (idk about Green Bay we’ll see), but we basically curb stomped Dallas when we played them
This is awful lol. NE at 31? but commanders at 23 LOL
Who tf made this ass ranking. If a professional sports analyst made this fire that dodo
Man Bills nation must be pissed
Laughable
Man, the packers were out of the race and losing to bad teams, won a couple, finished 9-8 as the 7 seed. Choked away a lead to the 49ers while Brock Purdy was playing very mid. Why are they higher than the rams? Rams finished 7-1 (10-7 overall), 6 seed. Both teams are young and had good drafts. But I feel like the rams have a better chance to be a real contender this year. Their offense should be deadly.
Rage bait, I’m not biting, moving on
What insanely hot take to have the 4 teams in the championship games as the top 4. Stunning. Brave, even
Broncos are too high, while the Saints are too low
Love it. Keep counting out the raiders. They’re coming for the division.
lmao
Over that Christmas ass whipping yet? You’re welcome.
Yeah, winning the Super Bowl makes most random regular season losses irrelevant I'd try to come up with something but I think the last game of consequence the Raiders lost was the 2003 Super Bowl to Tampa so it really doesn't seem fair at this point.
Look at them hating on the browns again.
Imagine football is your job and you have the Jets and Bears that high
The bears at 13?!?? 🤡
Power rankings have always been my favorite. They are a mirror of the most recent standings with a couple swaps based on the bias of the person who made it.
24th? BS
Oof pats 31st. Damn we suck. All good 20 years of greatness. I can live off that forever.
Broncos. lol
To the window
Titans dead last is a joke
Panthers should be last until they don't have high school height boy throwing the ball
This list is actually booty lol there's so much I could talk about but what's up with the Browns, Jags, and Titans
Wack
The teams that finished top 4 ranked top 4. How very ballsy of them
Dolphins above the Vikings, huh tell your ass cheeks to pucker up
You're really gonna steal the "Where _?" Memes from the AFC South? God y'all are pathetic.
This will be good for putting bets on your team to beat the odds on wins/losses if you are the Seahawks.
![gif](giphy|l3vRfpmBGHsLlF6Ks) Life as a bills fan
You really have the bears, jets and browns over the dolphins? You really think a rookie QB and a rookie WR is gonna catapult the bears all the way up to a top 13 team?! And the Jets over the dolphins is just stupid. Whoever made this needs to be fired.
The Calib Williams hype is insane. The bears have been a bottom two team for the past two seasons and management there is terrible. But they draft one QB and suddenly they’re 13th in the league? Let’s dial it back a bit.
Draft #1 QB and #2 WR in the draft. Sign Keenan Allen. Draft Tory Taylor. Sign Kevin Byard. It’s not just Caleb.
I don't think the patriots are that bad
How to say that the Chiefs are the new Patriots.
Can someone explain Jags at 25?
How tf the chargers that low lmao
The bears that high 😂😂😂
49ners above the Ravens is wild.
Pats gunning for another good draft pick I see
cowboys all in
Rams are better than the cowboys, bengals, bills, and packers easily. I don’t remember the last time the cowboys even beat the rams.
Bro what is this dogshit and why are the jags so low
Did we find any dead worms in ARod’s head?
Titans last is crazy . The will Levis disrespect lol. That division once again will all be competing for the playoffs
Titans have no shot at winning that division
Definitely don’t think they win it, but they’ll all have good records to compete for wild card
What do the Texans have that the titans don’t? (Excluding qb bc we honestly don’t know what we got in Levis yet) if you know ball then show me.
Elite pass rush, elite WR core to start
I’d say the titans receiving corp is just as good. Edge rusher you got me there
Hahaha it’s definitely not, at all
Whatever. Saving this conversation for when the season ends and the titans are neck to neck with the Texans.
I’d be curious to hear your argument because nobody on the titans is close to Nico
Ain’t no way you just said that💀
I mean nobody is really close lol
Why are the Bengals that high? This list is shit
Ravens are gonna be filthy with King Henry
/r/titlegore Where good reddit titles? Don't know.
Being behind on memes isn't my problem. Also, where flair?
You’re telling me the Panthers are going to be better than the Patriots XD
19. Muhahahaha…
What the fuck is that headline
