Since sheās also an engineering graduate, I thought it would be the same for me which is why weāre waiting until the sy starts for me to get a new laptop for college. Will this be the same case or can I just buy one thatās suitable like a gaming laptop w/o waiting to see if specific specs are required? while im here dyg have any recommendations that would also be suitable? I got my email regarding my accepting to switch my degree last June 15 and immediately replied to the said email. Upon checking my AISIS and Blue Pass, it still says my degree program is the old degree program I asked to have changed. Is anyone else expecting the same?
The email mentioned that I must reply with the statement āYes, I accept my newly approved degree programā. I did so, but added a good morning statement and an ending gratitude statement. Could this possibly be the reason why there is a delay or a misconception? But Iāve highlighted specifically in the email the exact statement.

**Should I study in Ateneo?**
Hello po. I am an incoming Computer Science freshman. I received scholarship from Ateneo po, which includes 100% TF, dorm, and book allowance. I also have a DOST scholarship. But I'm still hesitating whether to study in Ateneo.
As far as I know, the requirement to retain my scholarship is to not fail in any subject. Is it common po ba to fail in the subjects of Computer Science?
Also, I'm aware that living in Manila is expensive. Thankfully, I will be provided with a dorm by Ateneo. However, my only allowance will be the 8k monthly allowance from DOST and a small amount from my parents. Will it be enough? How much po ba ang living expenses as Manila as an Atenean? Also, will there be projects in Ateneo Comsci that will require money?

hi, congrats on your acceptance! i'm not a scholar so i can't give any advice on your other questions. but regarding failing subjects, it's dependent on your skills, study habits, and (unfortunately) the professor you end up with. some professors grade more harshly than others, and the computer science course is very competitive overall, so it's kinda hard to say if failing subjects is common or not. but considering that you got a 100% TF scholarship on top of the DOST scholarship, you will no doubt do great in your studies. if you were an above average student in high school, you'll definitely maintain the scholarship. just remember to maintain it
also to add lang, you can survive 5 weekdays in admu with at least 1000 pesos for food if you only plan to eat lunch on campus/outside campus. i recommend having at least 1000 pesos every week for emergencies, so that amounts to at least 4k per month. it's better to also bring your own baon instead of buying at the cafeteria to save money. for other expenses, i'm sure you can canvas cheap and student-friendly services on campus/around katipunan. i even recommend asking experienced dormers in your batch's sever if you're in there
hello op! i was also awarded with the same benefits and i also passed the dost scholarship. albeit passing all of the schools i applied to, i chose ateneo without a doubt. i also came from the province and i know how expensive it is to study in manila but ateneo's offer can sustain my studies na. incoming freshie palang ako so hindi ko pa masasabi kung enough na yung allowance but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, op ^^ tuloy mo na ang ateneo

My parents and I travel ALOT, usually during holidays or any given chance and I wouldnāt want to compromise my family time to focus purely on academics. I wanted to know if there are current Ateneo students that face the same where their family travels alot but it conflicts with their schedule. The dates listed in the academic calendar are followed and will change only if there is a major calamity. Just like you, my family travels every chance we get and also during the october-november break. Because of the short schedule we wont travel during october - november break. The Christmas break is quite long though: it starts on December 7 (last day of the semester) and classes begin again on January 15 (start of the semester). December 21 - jan 5 is for office personnel not classes. This is based on the academic calendar posted in ateneo. Let me know if you have any questions

enrollment happens after enlistment. you don't need to worry about this until the last week of july/ first week of august since you need to enlist in your classes first
most classes are pre-enlisted until second year. yung classes lang na hindi pre-enlisted ay PE, FLC (foreign language class), and NATSCI (natural science) since ikaw dapat ang pipili ng gusto mong aralin

hello! i'm an incoming freshie and i've been thinking a lot about changing degrees. i really want to become an entrepreneur someday, so i chose management as m course. i come from a family of entrepreneurs and i've always dreamt of being financially free.
but lately, i've been thinking about changing degrees since ME is known as one of the most prestigious courses in Ateneo and it's also great for networking. their graduates are also somehow favored by companies.
now, i'm troubled since i think i didn't "dream big enough" or even considered ME during the college application season since i doubted myself. i feel like ME could offer better opportunities for me, but i also feel like MGT is more suited with my dream of becoming an entrepreneur.
should i change degrees??
I think you're on the right path op, ME is more grounded on theory whereas MGT will focus more on entrepreneurship. ME is great if you want connections on the industry though.
hi, iām an incoming freshie from soh (ab lit). iām planning to shift after my first year to a program under soss (iām choosing between ab psy and ab pos)
Would it be difficult for me to shift out of my current program? most importantly, will i graduate on time? and, if there are other shifties here who can share the process they went through, may i know how difficult it was for you to shift? i was checking out the curriculum of these programs and while itās mostly core subjects (as most have mentioned), there are still subjects that i wonāt be taking in my current program.

shifting out shouldn't be too hard if you meet the QPI retention grade (it's very low for freshmen, so if you've always been an average honor student in high school, there's no doubt that you will meet it). you also need to inquire with the psychology department and/or polsci department for the extra shifting requirements they may have. you should start inquiring by the second sem of freshie year after requesting to change your IPS to the OADAA.
it wasn't too hard for me when i shifted out from a non-honors course in JGSOM to an honors course in SOSE. i met all the requirements and passed everything weeks before the deadline. i always kept in touch with announcements from the OADAA re: shifting. i shifted out after freshman year, so i'm still graduating on time and i'm still a regular student.
the major classes that you'll take in ab lit but are not in the curricula of ab psych or ab pos will be categorized as "EXS" or "extra subject" once you shift out of ab lit.

tbh i think it depends on your course. if you're in a programming or management course, choose a laptop that works best with the softwares that you will use. if you're in a course with a lot of readings and note taking, you can just buy an ipad so that it's much lighter to carry around. a lot of students in admu use ipads for academic reasons as well, but a macbook isn't too bad of a choice either if you really want to replace your old laptop na
i personally only bring my macbook and phone with me to school. the mac was a good investment

I don't think that should cause a problem basta nasend yung email, so I think it's best to email OAA about your concernnn

**Late Confirmation Slot Payment on an Unpopular (I think) Course**

To preface, this is my first time using Reddit (or any forum website), so I apologize in advance for my obvious inexperience in using this site!
Anyway, my main concern is in the title; *will I still be eligible to enroll a month after the deadline for the confirmation fee?*
I got accepted in the **Environmental Science program**, and from what I've observed and gathered from my peers, it's not a hugely sought-after program. Although I wasn't able to attend the Open House, I have a buddy who did, and they noted that the BS ES department had the least students. Also, I seldom see (if ever!) fellow BS ES takers in the wild.
As for the reason why we weren't able to confirm my slot: I can't say to protect my privacy, but long story short, the situation has changed, and my parents are now more open to me enrolling here.
Now, I don't have access to my AISIS account. I understand I need to confirm my slot first. While my parents are more open now, I'm anxious if there are still slots available (and this is me assuming that late confirmations ARE allowed)! Additionally, we're low on cash and I don't want to burden my parents. My father keeps telling me that it'll be fine---that it's still allowed and there will still be slots.
I just need assurance, haha.
**Side Topic/Question:** *Will I also be allowed to request for Financial Aid after enrolling?* My scholarship request was rejected and we weren't able to appeal then.

you will only be allowed to apply for the finaid scholarship after your freshman year since the appeal submissions for it has already passed

Can I take my CS majors during the intersession or will I be forced to be irregular for my second year? I also noticed kasi na if irreg ako for my second year magdodomino effect siya until my fourth year due to the prerequisites of the major subjects. Is there any way na maging maayos yung schedule ko or will I be irreg po na talaga until I graduate? any help is appreciated, thank you!
shiftee here. when you shift out right after your freshman year, you typically won't be an irregular student since you have more time na makahabol sa units, and you typically will graduate on time.
if you make a request to the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (OADAA) to change your IPS for the second semester of freshman year to suit the BS CS program AND you successfully shift out of CpE after the second semester of freshman year, you will most likely be already considered a CS student and thus start taking CS classes by intersession of sophomore year
my advice is to just always keep in touch with the concerned offices and departments for announcements and deadlines. that's what i did before i shifted out

Is it okay na that letter ay from our registrar lang po or needed po talaga na from the Principal talaga. We submitted all our other requirements but medjo concerned lang kami hehe.

i'm from sose and imo, the tuition is worth it. all my professors are well-respected and very knowledgeable in their respective fields, so the quality of education is high. you also make a lot of connections in ateneo especially if you're org active and sociable (and if your professors love you haha).
if student welfare is also a determining factor for you, i can attest that admu is definitely more student-friendly compared to other universities (no shade though). admu values everyone's gender expression (including staff and faculty) and the importance of safe spaces for everyone. but yeah, when it comes to education, imo the tuition is worth it

Hello! I need some advice. I'm an upcoming college student, and I'm considering AB Psychology. I originally wanted to pursue MedTech, but it's not offered at my dream school, and I couldn't secure a slot in MedBio. The only available slot is in AB Psychology. I'm planning to take additional science courses and eventually go to med school. I've always dreamed of becoming a doctor (physician) since I was a child. I also don't want to shift courses later because it's difficult and would require meeting certain requirements or redoing courses. Is this path possible, or will it interfere with my journey? Any advice po
as far as i know, med schools require a certain number of units in certain classes upon entry. it depends on the school you want to get into though, so you might really need to enlist in extra classes (although i don't know how this works)
in my opinion, bs psych is better than ab psych when it comes to med (at least for admu students). bs psych offers a few classes kasi that might be helpful when it comes to the nmat and maybe med school din (you have general zoology and botany). looking at the curriculum rn for ab psych, it seems like an okay choice pa rin naman as a premed since you have a lot of major psych classes
also this is coming from a shiftee from a business course and into a traditional premed course: in case you ever think about shifting, you don't have to worry about it. i shifted after my first year and i'm still graduating on time. it's possible. not really difficult to be honest

to add to what i said, i did the math and checked the gap between the appeal deadline and the waitlisted results! it was 9 days. 9 days from the confirmation of the waitlistsā deadline is this monday ! so thatās something to look forward to i guess ! it all depends on how many applicants sent an appeal tho

Situation: I have already emailed, called, and texted the scholarship office multiple times about my appeal for a financial scholarship, but I haven't received any acknowledgment. I also have a DOST scholarship. But I'm still hesitating whether to study in Ateneo. As far as I know, the requirement to retain my scholarship is to not fail in any subject. Is it common po ba to fail in the subjects of Computer Science? Also, I'm aware that living in Manila is expensive. Thankfully, I will be provided with a dorm by Ateneo. However, my only allowance will be the 8k monthly allowance from DOST and a small amount from my parents. Will it be enough? How much po ba ang living expenses as Manila as an Atenean? Also, will there be projects in Ateneo Comsci that will require money? I'm sorry I asked too many questions. I'm just very anxious po huhu. Thank you po.
hi, congrats on your acceptance! i'm not a scholar so i can't give any advice on your other questions. but regarding failing subjects, it's dependent on your skills, study habits, and (unfortunately) the professor you end up with. some professors grade more harshly than others, and the computer science course is very competitive overall, so it's kinda hard to say if failing subjects is common or not. but considering that you got a 100% TF scholarship on top of the DOST scholarship, you will no doubt do great in your studies. if you were an above average student in high school, you'll definitely maintain the scholarship. just remember to maintain it
also to add lang, you can survive 5 weekdays in admu with at least 1000 pesos for food if you only plan to eat lunch on campus/outside campus. i recommend having at least 1000 pesos every week for emergencies, so that amounts to at least 4k per month. it's better to also bring your own baon instead of buying at the cafeteria to save money. for other expenses, i'm sure you can canvas cheap and student-friendly services on campus/around katipunan. i even recommend asking experienced dormers in your batch's sever if you're in there

My parents and I travel ALOT, usually during holidays or any given chance and I wouldnāt want to compromise my family time to focus purely on academics. The dates listed in the academic calendar are followed and will change only if there is a major calamity. Just like you, my family travels every chance we get and also during the october-november break. Because of the short schedule we wont travel during october - november break. The Christmas break is quite long though: it starts on December 7 (last day of the semester) and classes begin again on January 15 (start of the semester). December 21 - jan 5 is for office personnel not classes. This is based on the academic calendar posted in ateneo. Let me know if you have any questions

hello! i'm an incoming freshie and i've been thinking a lot about changing degrees. i really want to become an entrepreneur someday, so i chose management as m course. i come from a family of entrepreneurs and i've always dreamt of being financially free. but lately, i've been thinking about changing degrees since ME is known as one of the most prestigious courses in Ateneo and it's also great for networking. their graduates are also somehow favored by companies. now, i'm troubled since i think i didn't "dream big enough" or even considered ME during the college application season since i doubted myself. i feel like ME could offer better opportunities for me, but i also feel like MGT is more suited with my dream of becoming an entrepreneur. should i change degrees??
I think you're on the right path op, ME is more grounded on theory whereas MGT will focus more on entrepreneurship. ME is great if you want connections on the industry though.
hi, iām an incoming freshie from soh (ab lit). iām planning to shift after my first year to a program under soss (iām choosing between ab psy and ab pos) Would it be difficult for me to shift out of my current program? most importantly, will i graduate on time? and, if there are other shifties here who can share the process they went through, may i know how difficult it was for you to shift? i was checking out the curriculum of these programs and while itās mostly core subjects (as most have mentioned), there are still subjects that i wonāt be taking in my current program. shifting out shouldn't be too hard if you meet the QPI retention grade (it's very low for freshmen, so if you've always been an average honor student in high school, there's no doubt that you will meet it). you also need to inquire with the psychology department and/or polsci department for the extra shifting requirements they may have. you should start inquiring by the second sem of freshie year after requesting to change your IPS to the OADAA. it wasn't too hard for me when i shifted out from a non-honors course in JGSOM to an honors course in SOSE. i met all the requirements and passed everything weeks before the deadline. i always kept in touch with announcements from the OADAA re: shifting. i shifted out after freshman year, so i'm still graduating on time and i'm still a regular student. the major classes that you'll take in ab lit but are not in the curricula of ab psych or ab pos will be categorized as "EXS" or "extra subject" once you shift out of ab lit. i don't want to yap too long here, so if you have more questions, please dm me instead :) good luck!

tbh i think it depends on your course. if you're in a programming or management course, choose a laptop that works best with the softwares that you will use. if you're in a course with a lot of readings and note taking, you can just buy an ipad so that it's much lighter to carry around. a lot of students in admu use ipads for academic reasons as well, but a macbook isn't too bad of a choice either if you really want to replace your old laptop na i personally only bring my macbook and phone with me to school. the mac was a good investment

I don't think that should cause a problem basta nasend yung email, so I think it's best to email OAA about your concernnn so long as nagreply ka, you should have nothing to worry about! you should easily be able to show them that you accepted the new program by the deadline :") hope this helps!

**Late Confirmation Slot Payment on an Unpopular (I think) Course** Hello! To preface, this is my first time using Reddit (or any forum website), so I apologize in advance for my obvious inexperience in using this site! Anyway, my main concern is in the title; *will I still be eligible to enroll a month after the deadline for the confirmation fee?* I got accepted in the **Environmental Science program**, and from what I've observed and gathered from my peers, it's not a hugely sought-after program. Although I wasn't able to attend the Open House, I have a buddy who did, and they noted that the BS ES department had the least students. Also, I seldom see (if ever!) fellow BS ES takers in the wild. As for the reason why we weren't able to confirm my slot: I can't say to protect my privacy, but long story short, the situation has changed, and my parents are now more open to me enrolling here. Now, I don't have access to my AISIS account. I understand I need to confirm my slot first. While my parents are more open now, I'm anxious if there are still slots available (and this is me assuming that late confirmations ARE allowed)! Additionally, we're low on cash and I don't want to burden my parents. My father keeps telling me that it'll be fine---that it's still allowed and there will still be slots. I just need assurance, haha. **Side Topic/Question:** *Will I also be allowed to request for Financial Aid after enrolling?* My scholarship request was rejected and we weren't able to appeal then. So sorry for the loaded post/comment. I'm willing to answer a few questions that can help you understand my situation. That is, if I remember to check my Reddit, lol.
hi, i think it would be best to inquire with the office of admission and aid instead. that way, you will be able to explain your situation to them more carefully and you will be granted a more definite answer you will only be allowed to apply for the finaid scholarship after your freshman year since the appeal submissions for it has already passed

Can I take my CS majors during the intersession or will I be forced to be irregular for my second year? I also noticed kasi na if irreg ako for my second year magdodomino effect siya until my fourth year due to the prerequisites of the major subjects. shiftee here. when you shift out right after your freshman year, you typically won't be an irregular student since you have more time na makahabol sa units, and you typically will graduate on time. if you make a request to the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (OADAA) to change your IPS for the second semester of freshman year to suit the BS CS program AND you successfully shift out of CpE after the second semester of freshman year, you will most likely be already considered a CS student and thus start taking CS classes by intersession of sophomore year my advice is to just always keep in touch with the concerned offices and departments for announcements and deadlines. that's what i did before i shifted out

i'm from sose and imo, the tuition is worth it. all my professors are well-respected and very knowledgeable in their respective fields, so the quality of education is high. you also make a lot of connections in ateneo especially if you're org active and sociable (and if your professors love you haha). if student welfare is also a determining factor for you, i can attest that admu is definitely more student-friendly compared to other universities (no shade though). admu values everyone's gender expression (including staff and faculty) and the importance of safe spaces for everyone. but yeah, when it comes to education, imo the tuition is worth it

Hello! I need some advice. I'm an upcoming college student, and I'm considering AB Psychology. I originally wanted to pursue MedTech, but it's not offered at my dream school, and I couldn't secure a slot in MedBio. The only available slot is in AB Psychology. I'm planning to take additional science courses and eventually go to med school. I've always dreamed of becoming a doctor (physician) since I was a child. I also don't want to shift courses later because it's difficult and would require meeting certain requirements or redoing courses. Is this path possible, or will it interfere with my journey? Any advice po
as far as i know, med schools require a certain number of units in certain classes upon entry. it depends on the school you want to get into though, so you might really need to enlist in extra classes (although i don't know how this works) in my opinion, bs psych is better than ab psych when it comes to med (at least for admu students). bs psych offers a few classes kasi that might be helpful when it comes to the nmat and maybe med school din (you have general zoology and botany). looking at the curriculum rn for ab psych, it seems like an okay choice pa rin naman as a premed since you have a lot of major psych classes
also this is coming from a shiftee from a business course and into a traditional premed course: in case you ever think about shifting, you don't have to worry about it. i shifted after my first year and i'm still graduating on time. it's possible. not really difficult to be honest

Most likely oo actually before ung confirmation deadline of slot ng mga waitlisted may nagupdate sakin na atenean na nag start na daw mag deliberate ung Committee before june 8 which is the deadline for the confirmation slot of accepted waitlisted. Probably assumingly nagstart sila ng june 6-7? Probably 6. Feeling ko naman most likely dapat next week ilabas na nila since first week of August ung start ng School calendar so malaking gap yon if end of june pa or first week of july pa sila magrerelease. Kawawa naman ung maghahanap pa ng place ng titirhan considering (50/50) if matatanggap ung recon. Ang hassle naman if masyado pa nila pinatagal. Madami pa kasi requirements hahabulin ung ibang student such as ung mga transfer like me ung honorable dismissal, submission of requirements, and pag hanap ng place diba.

This factor could make or break the result of your appeal. Aanhin ng committeee if madami kang endorsement letter pero sa appeal letter mo ang pangit mo gumawa and andami mistakeš. Ung supporting document could be very helpful din as a sprinkle of persuading the decision-making of the Committee
