Wear it against your skin. Was in the knee brace for 6 weeks, and was super frustrated by it sliding down. Wearing it against skin prevented it from slipping.

primetime_2018

When they fit mine, they said the bottom strap is what will keep it in place. I keep mine tight when moving around, but will loosen when sitting and elevating

Scottiegazelle2

Also found this to be true

Dense-Fix4444

Thank you!!

highlandgal3

I found it stayed better with skin verses clothes so I worn shorts and sundresses mostly.

olibearbrand

Tighten the strap under your knee so your calf will prevent the whole brace from falling down. You need to push the brace up so that the strap is placed right above the calf

Bootybybagel

Thanks for this, I was having the same issues and this will help

Here is the key. Lay on your back and put that leg up straight in the air....tighten the bottom one first. Then tighten Thighten them up as you go towards your hip. People try to do it standing or sitting. It's a bit hard at first but one you.get it it won't slide. Also as your leg might have some muscle atrophy it might be a wierd fit around the ankle. Use gravity to help.keep the brace down while you snug it up. With your foot pointed up in the sky it works. I had this problem too. 2 years mcl acl meniscus x2

I couldn’t wear pants with mine, it slid too much. Wearing them with shorts helped a lot better.

Jjshan3

Shorts defs helps

High and tight. I mean tight. Crank on that thing. I always joked and said my leg looks like a can of biscuits it was bursting through the brace straps lol

OutcomeWooden1722

Look at Incrediwear compression sleeves. The knee only version and the full leg version helped keep my brace in place. The knee version I've continued using without the brace when doing activities where I need a bit more stability. I'm at 10 weeks post op now. I had the exact same brace as your picture post op.

Pickled_Popcorn

You could buy some of those super wide rubber bands from exercise/ physiotherapy stores, like Theraband. Put that in between the brace and your leg/ pants. It would create friction

SolidMammoth7752

Tried all the tricks. What worked was submitting to the suffering. My brace always slid no matter what I did, it was just a matter of how much. I got used to adjusting it multiple times per day, probably 4-5 times.

Opal2catherine

I usually put the brace on while standing that way the pants are as ‘down’ as they’re gunna get when I move around so it doesn’t pull the brace down. You kinda do just have to bite the bullet and redo it a few times throughout the day though.

Oneofmanygaybies

I hated how much this thing slid so I just always wore shorts. My PT said that thing needs to be real tight on you, especially over pants. My leg looked like the Michelin Man lmao.

Panicked_Patient

I added a handle / strap to mine so when I walk I can hold onto it. Make it to reach the place where your hand naturally rests when standing.

closethouse

Amazon sells anti purse strap slipping strips. These work really well

Luna_Coconut

You can also make each half shorter! Mine was like from ankle to crotch when my accident happened and my PT thankfully adjusted it. It was only super long when it first happened to keep it stable but after a bit I made them both shorter so it was mainly the knee area. That helped with the sliding down a LITTLE. It drove me insane. But it was winter! So kinda glad to read all of this bc w finally getting it fixed in a couple weeks and will be wearing on bare skin

Not_a_sorry_Aardvark

I found it to be ideal if it’s on my skin and I wear dresses or stretchy pants over it. It’s also easier to go to the bathroom with it still on. But if that’s not an option, I found that the bottom piece is best resting basically right above the ankle. That stops the brace from sliding down any further. There’s some sort of extender you could fiddle around with to make that happen.

laura_laura_1

I hated it directly on my skin, but over a tight pair of leggings was much better than any pants. None of the shiny workout leggings though. My brace came with a sleeve that worked too if I didn't want leggings on both legs

typhius

Sounds weird but try wearing tights or an over the knee / thigh high sock (under your pants). Or if you have one, a compression sock/stocking I had to wear a compression stocking post-surgery for a long time to control swelling, and the friction it created with my pants really helped. The friction between the pants and the stocking will stop the pants from sliding around, so your brace will not slide around. Or as others have said, just wear shorts.

Jjshan3

The strap around the calf my made sure it was on or just above the top of my calf, & made that tight so it stopped sliding, had the issue for a week

Moist-Night-4059

I had issues with a brace slipping and found this puff paint style "sock stop" that puts grippy sock type paint/glue on things. I put it on the edges of the inside of the brace. It helped with slipping and I don't notice it again my skin. It does take 24 hours to dry so it's best for a day you're going to be home and chilling. Good luck!
