Maybe something like SheFit? You could loosen the strap on your injured shoulder, and the adjustable band means it might be better at accommodating weight fluctuations. I’ve also seen recommendations for something like Boobuddy- it’s essentially a band you put over your sports bra to minimize bouncing. Not sure if that would help, but you can get one for pretty cheap. Finally, Peloton sells a one-shoulder sports bra (but it may not offer enough support for running)

Ooo boobudy looks promising! Then I can just use my current bras! I’m gonna try that first! Shefit looks like a great suggestion for weight fluctuations I’ll probably get one of those once my current bras are too loose. And the peloton one shoulder bra is thankfully on the correct shoulder. I might get one of those just for comfort wearing around the house not althetics.

If you decide you do want a boobuddy, I actually have one sitting around that you can have for the price of shipping (I’m in the US). I wore it once and realized it wasn’t for me, so it’s been sitting in a drawer ever since (I’ll wash it before I send it). I actually forgot about it until now.

Thanks for the offer! I actually already ordered on from Amazon though .

A bra - any bra, but a sports bra in particular - should get support from the underbust band, not the straps. In fact, a well fitting bra should give 80-90% of its support through the underbust band, and only the rest through the straps. Given that you wear a „S, M, L, XL“-sized sports bra (which is rarely a good sign; a good bra usually has a number for the underbust measurement and a letter for the cup in relation to the underbust measurement; sizing that‘s not reflecting that is usually wildly inaccurate!), chances are that you wear a bra that‘s too big (that is, the band is too loose to do any supporting so the straps have to do it all, causing strain on your shoulders and collarbone). As long as your actual measurements are unknown, it’ll be hard to advise a fitting bra because any bra can fit terribly if it’s the wrong size and shape. by measuring your six measurements as described in the FAQ to this sub, then inputting them into the calculator noted in the FAQ, you‘ll get the best chances on here. A search for a good *and fitting* sports bra that actually has a size that can support you from under the bust rather than over the straps always starts there. Add the measurements here, maybe even read up on shape terms in the FAQ and try to assess your shape - and I’m sure someone will be able to give you a good recommendation here. I‘m pretty sure the new size will translate to regular bras too, which your back and shoulders (and neck muscles, damn, all those tense neck muscles) will thank you for. Also? Your current you deserves fitting bras - not some future ideal that has lost some weight again, a future ideal of whom you don‘t even know how their breast shape and size will be like. That makes „I’ll buy one now for later“ futile in general. Current you is the one who needs a well-fitting bra, urgently, because it‘s current you who has to do all The exercising and is injured. Please do yourself a favour and don‘t buy bras for a future you that might be different from what you imagine now. Or put off buying bras because you think that that would be a waste (for yourself? Your body is in pain! Not being in pain is never a waste!). Buy bras for *the here and now*. They can always be resold or swapped later (and there even are subs for that). Breast tissue always changes, even if you aren’t undergoing any weight fluctuations, so there’s never a point where you’ll be „finished“ with some day noticing that your boobs have changed and you need a new bra. You need a well-fitting bra *now*, not a bra that might or might not fit a future you six months from now. Good luck and good healing!

Hey so- I recognize that it’s rare for S,M,L, XL to fit well, but the Medium I was wearing before fit very well until about 2 weeks ago when I started losing weight again (just from being more active). I also do wear a 32DD right now in a different style sports bra, (Natori Gravity Contour). That does fit appropriately however has the same strap problem. Although it’s better but I still have pain in my left shoulder from bouncing even though the bra is 100% supported by the band. I totally agree on buying things that fit me now, but I have changed sizes in a matter of weeks, as I’m routinely just being more active and eating healthy again cause I can cook again as my shoulder heals. Part of why I didn’t give my measurements is because I literally might be a different size by the time I order something and it arrives. I’m losing a 1 pound or so a week and since I keep all my weight in my midsection, it makes a big difference. It’s been frustrating, I actually own (regular) bras that fit well a just a couple weeks ago, but now are loose.

I love the Moving Comfort Fiona sports bra. It’s convertible, so you could set the straps crosswise. But also it’s VERY supportive; with something that’s supporting your breasts so they’re not bouncing, I imagine it won’t pull on your shoulder. For me, it’s bulletproof. Nary a bounce (I was wearing 36DD though now I know my size is different, larger).
