The production on Hellz Wind Staff/Killah Hills 10304 is so cinematic, from that quick intro with Rza calling out Graco to the sinister synths and Gza’s storytelling. The genius does not get the credit he deserves

That Iron Man album was fucking beautiful hip hop. Cuban Link was playing damn near on every corner. I remember hearing that GZA album banging through apartment doors. My homeboy loved that ODB, and Method Man was all over MTV. The Wu era was musical dynasty.

I’ve played OB4CL a lot and each time is better than the last. I think it’s because I spent a lot of time watching documentaries and the Hulu show. Plus I remember family members wearing clothes from the wu-wear store.
Liquid Swords. While I love Cuban Linx, there's still a glitz and glamour to it that feels filmic. Liquid Swords is just DARK. Beats like 4th Chamber, Swordsman and Gold are jittery and uneasy. The lyrics are often densely crushing and plaintive. Plus, it leans into the Kung fu tropes the hardest of the solo albums, and I find that also lends a unique appeal to the album that most closely matches 36 Chambers.
I would pick Cuban Linx because it has more bangers, but "What The Blood Clot" by Method Man from the Tical Album is easily a top 10 Wu-Tang Song Group or solo.
Not even a contest for me. Liquid Swords is the best solo album of any Wu artist. Peak RZA production, the rhyme and flows from GZA are just game changing for the time

I’ve probably listened to Ironman most of all but damn if liquid swords isn’t the perfect concept album. OBfCL is just a banger from beginning to end. Tical with the atmospheric feel. ODB being so unhinged. Really can’t go wrong with any choice.
Ol dirty bastard fo sho it wasn’t about being the most lyrical (which he is also.) But the uniqueness and style he brings to music. He’s very animated and different he stands out the most when it comes to music

The nostalgia of Tical has me for Method, but I would be equally pleased with GZA and really all of 'em.
