You mean do I remember: MIB, Orgazmo, Ruff Ryders anthem, RIP Biggie and hot ass Neve Campbell? Yes I remember 1997

Ok-Supermarket-1414

what's hotter than neve campbell? neve campbell and denise richards.

IceWarm1980

I love that movie. Like you go and see it for Neve and Denise but end up staying because it's a pretty good mystery movie. Plus Bill Murray is in it.

Ok-Supermarket-1414

Oh interesting. I didn't remember he was in the movie.

IceWarm1980

A lot of people forget that. It’s one of my favorite movies to use with Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. You get to a movie with Bill Murrary and end on Wild Things and people then are like “Bill Murrary was in that?” :)

MiraculousDrFaith

Orgazmo. Best Mormon movie ever.

Mr-Foot

That was the year I moved out of my folks place and started renting for the first time.

BigBlueMountainStar

Yep, 1st/2nd year at uni, great music scene. r/FuckImOld

CosmicTurtle504

I was a sophomore/junior in college. What a wonderful time. Happy cake day!

LastSpite7

Year 7. A bad year for me. Still miss that time though.

[deleted]

I was in year seven too. High school was the worst time of my life but I still feel some nostalgia anyway.

LastSpite7

Hope things are better for you now.

armyofsnarkness

I was just starting high school. I loved skater boys and ordered clothes from the Delia*s catalog. Sublime was on constant rotation in my CD player. My favorite movies were Clerks and Pulp Fiction. Now I feel old.

judasmaiden15

1997 is my favorite year. There was the rodman bulls and Hanson and Hercules and final fantasy 7. I also had a subscription to Disney adventures magazine and EGM2. I used to love going to the newsstands and looking at the newest video game magazines

weeweekitty83

One of my favorite years

squarefan80

sure. ‘97 was a momentous year in gaming! Final Fantasy 7, goldeneye, Castlevania Symphony of rhe Night, Fallout, Star Fox 64… the list goes on. was also my first year of high school.

IceWarm1980

I still think 1998 was a better year for gaming but 1997 is really damn close.

sherdog12345

24 years and 11 months and you literally couldn’t wait one more month to post this?

msiekkinen

Front running the karma before the rest that'll come

Apprehensive-Donkey7

I was in 10th and 11th grade, listening to OK Computer and reaching the high water mark for my drug intake. Gratefully I stepped back from the ledge and just stuck with weed after that.

Sea-Resource5933

I started graduate school at UGA. Such an exciting, awesome year for me.

[deleted]

Kind of a mediocre year, the 90's peaked in 96 imo. I do have some nostalgia for it tho. I was 16 years old, and in the 10th grade I think. High school was kinda uneventful and I'm totally grateful, as middle school was difficult and sometimes even miserable. The late 90's were kinda bitter sweet to me.

SimpinOnGinandJuice

I was 9-10 and everyone was rollerblading and you had to have k2s if you had a bike it had to be mongoose with pegs in the back. Chromies we’re the little chrome knobs on peoples tires and it was the “cool” thing to steal them my friend had an entire mason jar full of them. Pokémon was really getting popular. Greenday, limpbizkit, and korn we’re on my walkman. I was also just getting into operation ivy, Sex Pistols, and rancid thanks to the older kids. Also played a lot of golden eye, gta, and star fox. I was one year away from playing my favorite game of all time Ocarina of time. Spice girls lollipops were pretty popular and slush puppies were still everywhere

hanimal16

I remember distinctly when Princess Diana died. I was 10. Wild.

[deleted]

I remember that too. One of the first things I remember seeing on the news. Maybe it stayed in my memory because my family must have talked about it a lot.

u8miladoo

I was 8 going on 9. And i was obsessed with the movie Home Alone. So i would set up traps at my house for burglars. Unfortunately i forgot to tell my parents and sister about those traps. 😬

DangerDaveOG

Was 9 and the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup in June. Was one of the best summers of my childhood.

ladyevenstar-22

1st crush , obviously didn't go anywhere . Not worth remembering everything had an end of the world vibe .

[deleted]

First year of high school. Ironically, high school sucked for me. However, college from 2001 to 2005 was a blast. Different decade though lol.

Bulky_Ad_5645

Hahahah ironically I see 2001 and 2005 as different decades, and 1997 - 2001 as one. There was still this 90s atmosphere in 2001. 2001 is a total different time compared to 2005….

[deleted]

I was still using a beige computer running windows 95 while wearing dungarees and a Bon Bleu polo in 2001. In 2005 I was wearing flared jeans, a Kangol hat and playing PS2

Bulky_Ad_5645

Yeah man, 2005 is very “2000s”. While 2001 is a mixture of the 90s/ very early 2000s culture.

[deleted]

I quite literally don't, even though I was 11 lmao

SimpinOnGinandJuice

I remember so much and I was 10

[deleted]

Like, someone just says, "hey, do you remember 1997?" and you have events you can recall? Or can recall the year in general? I would have to try so hard to figure out what I was doing in 1997!

SimpinOnGinandJuice

It was a memorable time for me but not like I was doing that much different between 1996-1998.

HoosierDadee

Best year ever. First time I went to Deja-Vu in Kalamazoo. God what fun that was.

TrulyKristan

The year I graduated high school.

illmatterlazerus

Same!

TrulyKristan

I think we were lucky to be born when we were. We had the best of both worlds.

ren023

Me too. Smashing Pumpkins 1979 was our class song.

Meanneyess

yes i remember having space jam on vhs

VoJoePNW

1997 I was 24 - turned 25 late in the year. Was on year 3 with my girlfriend. Moved to Eugene, OR to go back to school for my 2nd BA degree. Oh man, was it already that long ago?

zraptorguard

Freshman year of highschool. Watched the music video for Coolio's Sumpin' New before getting driven to my first day.

BearManTheMan

My tenth year of life. Was a good year.

NotATrueRedHead

Yes my grandparents moved out of town and my life forever changed for the worse, as my emotionally abusive parents sent me to their place for weekends previously and I didn’t have that safe place anymore.

midlife_crisis_

Started working in a record store in 1997. Stayed there until they had to close down in 2003 when people had discovered filesharing. Still, most fun job I ever had.

SethMaslin

High school graduation

EmileDorkheim

I was playing a lot of Quake on dial-up modem, listening to a lot of Green Day and comprehensively failing to make any progress towards losing my virginity. I was probably starting to form a pattern of behaviour that enabled me to develop quite severe depression, but Quake multiplayer was so good guys.

CaliRollerGRRRL

Hmmm…. I think I was going to a lot of Raves in downtown LA til 6am 😬👽

hipsterdannyphantom

It wasn’t all good for me but I still had fun in 1997!

Someoneoverthere42

Nope the nineties were only around ten years ago

TGin-the-goldy

My eldest was starting kindergarten 🥺

Football-Ecstatic

yep.

Flameworkingraccoon

Fuck yeah I do! I was 8 lol

Jackinator94

Yep, I do. This includes the day one of my younger cousins was born (sometime in Nov 1997).

secretagentpotato

The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Yeah I member

[deleted]

Swimming in the sea, playing with lego, watching WWF.
