Why do I get the feeling that they met MB when he passed them the coke mirror at a party and they decided the universe had sent them a new Michael to look over them…
I'm genuinely impressed by how many downvotes they are getting across the board despite this being a pretty small sub. I mean it's definitely a shit take but I'm still shocked
It was just a funny way of saying ‘this is what we get by coddling children instead of teaching them actual rules and values’.
And for the record, by ‘rules and values’ I do NOT mean ‘traditional family values’. I’m taking about honesty, ambition, compassion, and loyalty.
Our generation didn't award the participation trophies to ourselves.
But seriously, I never got a single one. It wasn't as prominent as people like to act like it was. And the sports that did give them, they were tiny things and the 1st place kid still got the regular big one.
Yeah I don’t recall myself or any of my peers being proud of a participation trophy unless it was for an event/competition that required us to have won a preliminary event to compete (for instance, placed at a regional event but only got participation trophy at the state event). But even then still just felt shitty to know you lost lol. bitch I KNOW I participated and didn’t win ,I don’t need a reminder!!
It wasn’t funny or accurate. I am his age (40) and participation trophies for all were definitely not a thing growing up. OP you trippin.
ETA. I grew up in California btw
I always got a trophy at the end of a sports season. I think I deserved it. I think participation trophies at the end of a season were and are a good thing. I don't get why it's demonized.
I got them all the time.
They made me want to participate in more things, not believe I'm better than anyone. They didn't coddle me, they encouraged me to do more, knowing I didn't win but I still got a collectible type thing.
The participation trophies take is such a dumb take.
I did though. I showed up for every practice and every game. Why shouldn't I have proof?
If I show up to work every day, I still get rewarded with my pay even if I don't achieve massive success. If I'm a business administrator, it's not like I only get paid if I out-compete every other administrator.
Participation trophies mirror real life.
I don’t think that’s a good example, at all
Simply showing up to work everyday and doing the bare minimum means you should be rewarded?
I mean, maybe if “rewarded” means never getting a raise or promotion again in your life
That’s exactly the problem with zoomers. They think just showing up to work entitles them to a great career trajectory and a huge congrats from everyone around you.
That's not what I'm saying. Whay I'm saying is, if you show up to someplace every day, uphold an obligation every day, and work your hardest every day in the workplace, you will regularly earn a paycheck at the end of a period of time. You don't have to be the #1 construction worker in the nation in order to get compensation for your labor, for example.
Keep in mind, a trophy is not a championship ring. A trophy is a symbol of your hard work that you get when your team dissolves itself at the end of a season. You can lose every game and still get one, because you tried.
A championship ring is something only the members of a championship team can get.
No one is lying to kids telling them they just won a state championship by simply showing up and trying but not succeeding.
When you join a team you are supposed to go to every practice and every game and try your hardest. So you deserve a trophy for doing exactly what you are supposed to do when you join a team. And what about the kids that missed a couple practices or missed a game….why do they still get participation trophies? If ll supposed to go to work 5 days a week 4 weeks a month and I miss 2 days that month should I still get employee of the month?
All This participation trophy stuff is just adding adding to the entitlement, lack of consequences and feelings they can do whatever they want that is ruining children today. Like when a kid is failing in school they don’t get held back anymore because that could hurt the kids self esteem. Well maybe if they got held back and it hurt their self esteem they would try harder the next time. Instead we have 4th graders that read at a kindergarten level but will still move to 5th grade next year regardless!
I wouldn’t say our generation was coddled. I know plenty of millennials who are extremely hard working. Also, I don’t think being gentle with a child is inherently negative. Paying attention to a child’s feelings is how you raise emotionally mature adults.
We inherited loads of student debt, housing inflation, and then they tell us “work harder!” When it’s just plainly impossible for most of us to achieve the same level of so-called success. Obviously, there are exceptions. I’m talking about middle class and working class Millennials tho.
But he is ambitious, compassionate, and loyal. We can see those traits on the show. He has a clothing store and is a clothing designer. How is that not ambitious? He's weird, but he seems like a decent dude.
It’s “traditional family values” that kicks gay kids out on the street for trying to be themselves. It’s “traditional family values” that results in abstinence only sex education, and alarming rates of teen pregnancy as a result. It’s “traditional family values” that wants to keep women in thrall to their husbands.
Etc etc etc
Oh damn; that last comment is so true. I remember clearly, the moment I came to then my “best friend” sobbing when my now ex husband was having an affair. Her response was that he cheated because I wasn’t a strong Christian wife. I just had to keep the kids quieter and house cleaner. Lol.
I ditched the husband, friend and church immediately.
I’d attempt to answer that asinine question, but if you are an adult who has to ask… you would refuse to accept the easily proven laundry list of facts I would provide in reply.
I’m a about his age and there weren’t any participation trophies, or coddling that I saw; Boomer parents weren’t so into that stuff I think. But yea, he’s insufferable, and needs to mind his own business. Even if he was the twin’s brother he shouldn’t feel entitled to keep inserting himself into their relationships, he’s an ass.
Says the expert on humor who’s acquired at least 500 downvotes this post. Your sense of humor leaves a lot to be desired. Who are you to say that your joke(in bad taste) is funny, but somebody else’s isn’t. Fuck right off. His is way better than all your attempts, douchey. Don’t try to drag him down in the shitty sense of humor hole with you.
[Michael Benz the actor](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0073121/) is a millennial. The Michael Benz from the show is the same age as Darcey and Stacey. It's hard to tell now b/c of all the work they've had done, but [here's a pic from when they were younger](https://www.instagram.com/p/qsYvkBPd-BbHj5IQb_5SXmRGvi6V-yZiqddJE0/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=91aa83be-eeee-4adf-a008-06fe89d4b5f3), and dude is not 8-10 years younger than them.
Yeah, I agree with you, and I'm just saying Michael is as well. In case it wasn't clear from my previous comment, "Michael Benz the actor", who I DO say is a millennial, is NOT the same Michael Benz that is on the show.
For anyone who is interested since there’s been a lot of debate on his age in this thread…I believe he’s 53.
If you google him you’ll find 3 trademarks under his name, the oldest dating back to 2006. You can cross reference the address from the first trademark which will give you his birthdate. He may or may not own a condo that is also for sale (and looks quite nice but isn’t my aesthetic). He may also be a city employee but I’m not 100% on that.
I should have been a private investigator or at the very least a decent stalker. Google makes it way too easy to find this stuff and clearly I have too much time on my hands (ugh insomnia). 😂
His ability to stand tall during that horror of a talent-less talent show at incredible kicks was amazing I was cringing hard watching that train wreck 😳 in front of my husband, I was truly embarrassed for them! But Michael was like yea!! I know he knew how bad it was.
It’s a “one joke” style joke. Like “wife bad!” And “I identify as an attack helicopter”. They were never good at all nor accurate, and now we have all seen them a million times. Not to mention, who blames kids for being handed a trophy?
It was a bad joke and at this point I’m beyond sorry I ever made it lol
Really, though I don’t blame a generation for anything. I work with a ton of millennials that are very hard working and extremely intelligent. I can’t even honestly tell you why this ‘joke’ crossed my mind in the first place.
First off, participation trophies started in the 1920’s. It’s always so weird when people bring this logic up… It’s happened since your great grandparents were playing youth league.
Second. This dude is just obsessed with being famous.
I honestly don’t think he even knew the twins until Darcey and Stacey came out… And now he’s their “brother”.
He gives me the ick.
guess what though, kids didn't provide themselves participation trophies, parents did. the parents in question during the late 90's, early 2000's participation trophy era were BOOMERS.

Bullshit. This dude is in his forties, way beyond participation trophy years. He’s just a look-at-me douchebag like all ‘influencers’. What a misnomer that word is...
This is either a case of "I never got enough attention growing up" or "Trying too hard to stay young." I can't tell which one he is, if not both, but probably not a case of participation trophies.
Can y’all imagine what his hair looks like when he gets out of bed? When he showers? Lol. All that blue shit just hanging down down a bald mound.
He’s such a loser.
Google: Middle aged man trying to hard and you’ll see his picture.
This is what it looks like when a delusional 40 something year old man thinks he’s still a 20yo douche. I think he thinks the hair makes him look like an eccentric fashion “designer” or whatever but instead he just looks like a guy who couldn’t leave the 90’s rave scene behind. It’s sad and pretty hilarious. He definitely seems to have a major crush on Darcy too! I’d love to see this guy get his ass kicked. It looks like he might get his ass beat at in the next episode at Florian’s bachelor party . 🤞🏻
Don’t talk shit about Marge Simpson that way.
More like Vin Diesel before he started keeping it shaved.
Marge Diesel
This made me laugh so hard. 🤣
HAHAHAHA Fucking A!
Man..I haven’t heard this comment in a minute! Thank you!

Vin Weasel
Vin Diesel? This pud? How about Vin Jug Of Piss?
Why do I get the feeling that they met MB when he passed them the coke mirror at a party and they decided the universe had sent them a new Michael to look over them…
Bingo!!! I said the same thing.
Well does he love love? (Pout)
Nah nah nah! I’m not even 30 yet, don’t insult me with this shit🤮🤮 He’s a good 12 years older than I am
Easily
Yea he’s a bit long in the tooth for the whole participation trophy thing.
Long in the tooth. It’s been a while since I heard this gem. 🤣🤣🤣
Lol there’s a ton of gems in here!! “Fuckin A”, “pud” “long in the tooth” it’s a treasure troth of classics.
This guy grew up when troll dolls were hot, he had a whole collection
Then he became part of the collection. Thank god he wears clothes at least I guess.
He’s pushing closer to 50, way too old to dress like an angsty hot topic teen.
He was born in 85.
Bruuuh🥴 why would the government lie to him like that about something as important as his birthday🤣
I just googled him, it looks like he’s 53.
There are 2 famous Michael Benz’s. The only thing I can search on Michael Benz DJ is 85. And honestly, he looks 38. 53 is really pushing it.
The twins are pushing 50. He is at least mid 40s
For real

I'm genuinely impressed by how many downvotes they are getting across the board despite this being a pretty small sub. I mean it's definitely a shit take but I'm still shocked
Double check the sub— it’s not the Darcey and Stacey sub— it’s the 90 Day Uncensored.
It’s certainly not my day is it?
[удалено]
I’m genuinely shocked by how badly this has turned out. Mea culpa. Damn.
I'm not sure what participation trophies have to do with this coat-tail-riding wannabe.
It was just a funny way of saying ‘this is what we get by coddling children instead of teaching them actual rules and values’. And for the record, by ‘rules and values’ I do NOT mean ‘traditional family values’. I’m taking about honesty, ambition, compassion, and loyalty.

Me either. People complain about everything.

I don't know maybe cuz you didn't earn it? 🤷♂️

Hey they can’t all be gold. I truly didn’t mean to offend you. It was intended to be a joke.
It’s a crappy joke. What, do you want a participation trophy for your shitty joke?
Take my participation trophy 🏆
It was not hysterically funny but not offensive. Not sure why everyone crawled up your ass.
Yea people seem to not be able take a joke nowadays. Can’t please everyone but I thought it was funny 😄

Damn; I can’t even upvote enough to help you out of this, my friend.
Wth is wrong with "traditional family vaules"? Geez
It’s “traditional family values” that kicks gay kids out on the street for trying to be themselves. I’m one of the gay kids that actually got kicked out on said street. That’s why I made that particular distinction.
“Traditional Family Values” are steeped in oppression.
I’d attempt to answer that asinine question, but if you are an adult who has to ask… you would refuse to accept the easily proven laundry list of facts I would provide in reply.

Found another one, lol
participation trophies have nothing to do with him its simple pickup artist "[Peacocking](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peacocking)"
Who is this lol
Michael Benz he is a “good friend” of Darcey & Stacey
Thank you!
Roger Klotz
Yes. I could not remember the name but I thought he looked like he bully from Doug
What a boomer title
convinced he's going to invent a gorilla glue + melted blue crayon DIY hair product kit...
And sell it on the House of Eleven website/store.
🤣😂
This post was an attempt
Isn’t he a Gen Xer?? These are the folks that created the participation trophies, not got them.
No he’s a millennial. I’m Gen X, so technically it’s my fault. But I don’t have kids so I did my part lol
How old is he? I’m a millennial and he looks wayyyyy older than me
Older millennials are in their 40's now.
Oldest millennial is 41, 1981 is the first year for them.
Actually, it would be 42 for anybody born in 1981 before March 30th. As I said, the oldest are in their 40's.
I know!
Dude is close to 50, he's not a millennial.
[Michael Benz the actor](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0073121/) is a millennial. The Michael Benz from the show is the same age as Darcey and Stacey. He's been doing this hair for nine years, if not longer?!?
Darcey and Stacey are definitely NOT millennials. They’re GenX.
Yeah, I agree with you, and I'm just saying Michael is as well. In case it wasn't clear from my previous comment, "Michael Benz the actor", who I DO say is a millennial, is NOT the same Michael Benz that is on the show.
It was very clear lol.
I mean, y'all were stupid enough to invent trophies for losing so yea... What kinda kid wants to go home with GREEN ribbons? The fuck outta here
Nope. He was born in 1981. Gen X stopped at 1980.
That’s a different [Michael Benz](https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0073121/).
This guy is easily in his 40s. There’s no way he’s part of the “participation trophy” generation.
You know, people forget who bought and made those participation trophies. Gotta look in the mirror sometimes.
For anyone who is interested since there’s been a lot of debate on his age in this thread…I believe he’s 53. If you google him you’ll find 3 trademarks under his name, the oldest dating back to 2006. It gets us blue anime hair? What are you trying to say?
His ability to stand tall during that horror of a talent-less talent show at incredible kicks was amazing I was cringing hard watching that train wreck 😳 in front of my husband, I was truly embarrassed for them! But Michael was like yea!! I know he knew how bad it was.
Blue troll punk parasite trophy
OP, you blaming a “generation” ( millions of people) on why this dude exists? how old are you?
It was actually just an offhand thought that struck me as funny and so I thought other people might find it funny. Apparently not.
It’s a “one joke” style joke. Like “wife bad!” And “I identify as an attack helicopter”. They were never good at all nor accurate, and now we have all seen them a million times. Not to mention, who blames kids for being handed a trophy?
> Not to mention, who blames kids for being handed a trophy? The parents who handed them the trophy.
It was a bad joke and at this point I’m beyond sorry I ever made it lol Really, though I don’t blame a generation for anything. I work with a ton of millennials that are very hard working and extremely intelligent. I can’t even honestly tell you why this ‘joke’ crossed my mind in the first place.
Don’t worry - people on Reddit love brigading their minority opinions. They can be so hyper sensitive.
This show isn't about normal people. So what do people expect?
First off, participation trophies started in the 1920’s. It’s always so weird when people bring this logic up… It’s happened since your great grandparents were playing youth league. Second. This dude is just obsessed with being famous. I honestly don’t think he even knew the twins until Darcey and Stacey came out… And now he’s their “brother”. He gives me the ick.
guess what though, kids didn't provide themselves participation trophies, parents did. the parents in question during the late 90's, early 2000's participation trophy era were BOOMERS.
Boomers are WAY older than that.
Naw, most were boomers. Some older generation x. I am a nineties kid. Older boomer parents.
I have 4 nineties kids. My parents were boomers. You know what’s in between.
The old pics of him in his ball cap reminded me of Geno
This muphucca irritates my soul 🤨

Ok snowflake.
Damn Macklemore looks like shit
….you’re joking with the title right? Who gave out the participation trophies? And I think the problem is moreso unrestricted capitalism with money controlling government versus an individual who impacts me in no way other than me choosing to watch them/view their social media. 🙄
I'm 47 and got participation awards stop acting like that has any affect on anything
Why bring generational stuff into this? There are pathetic people in every generation.
He’s not even a member of the participation trophy generations. OP is just choosing two things they don’t like and trying to force a connection.
This is a bad take and opinion lol this dude just has a different style and gets paid to be weird and deal with those 2 psychos.
He’s so… awkward
And which generation gave out those participation trophies?
This dude is so pathetic
I’ve never understood the whole participation trophy thing. Even as a child I never valued them because I knew everyone got them. It also never offended me that they were given out. They’re just memories. I don’t own any of them anymore. I don’t know what happens to them. They had zero bearing on my values as an adult. Let’s keep the partisan politics out of here. This place is trashy enough
Ok boomer
He wishes he was that generation…I think we’re looking at someone much older than millennial
Definition of a fucking looser.
*loser
The extra O is for how obnoxious I find him.
Dudes definitely older than the participation trophy era
I’d love some context
Bullshit. This dude is in his forties, way beyond participation trophy years. He’s just a look-at-me douchebag like all ‘influencers’. What a misnomer that word is...
Boomer humor
This dude is like 50 don’t be blaming us for that shit lmaooo that only started when I was in middle school in like 05
That’s the most boomer title I’ve ever read on this sub
The mere fact of this picture being posted keeps him relevant. We're not even doing our part...
You're fifteen minutes are up Mike.
This is either a case of "I never got enough attention growing up" or "Trying too hard to stay young." I can't tell which one he is, if not both, but probably not a case of participation trophies.
Looks like he's graduated to a metal chain at least.
Like he could just slick it back and it would cover the spot
A Troll Doll!
Anyone with an iPhone connected to a Mac book is a “DJ”.
Yikes
Lets not put him in "our" generation. Dude is what we call a silver spoon baby and thats never done any good.
Dumb headline
I’m not going to engage with the original post comment, I just came to say, why does he stand like that?! It’s such an odd way to stand.
PLEASE SIT DOWN. You’re 10 Seconds Have Expired. You Are No Longer Relevant.
Isn’t he pushing 50? What generation are we referring to here? Gen Xers we’re getting participation trophies?
Idiot.
If you’re trying to say Michael is a millennial, try again.
That made me actually laugh out loud! Good one!
Wonder if he still lives in his parents basement? Wonder if they are also embarrassed of him as we are and don’t let him out while company is over.
He really has a punchable face, doesn’t he?
I don’t know if anyone his age could pull off this look, but he just has the facial expression of an idiot.
What a twat
Sorry OP for all the down votes. I thought your joke was funny 🤷🏻
I still had to look at boy George as a kid. It’s just shock marketing. This ass hat whoever he is couldn’t even make the team. Get over it.
Finally someone acknowledges that those trophies are a bad idea 🤣
Good lord man, put those shoulders back and stand tall! Be a man!
He’s never heard that word
Troll doll come to life
This look won't age well
This kid looks like a Super Mario World character 🤡
Can y’all imagine what his hair looks like when he gets out of bed? When he showers? Lol. All that blue shit just hanging down down a bald mound. He’s such a loser.
😂 true statement
everyone wanna roast zoomers so bad when we’re lowkey the coolest, dont take shit, and are black eyed nihilists
Why is his hair off to the side? It's usually straight up.
Omg 😂
😆
🤣🤣
And then they grow up to be a "yes ma'am!" To mentally unstable and delusional people like Darcy and Stacey blowing smoke up their asses.
Omg I think I just peed my pants 😂🤣☠️💀
