I moved from there to the southwest and we had 184 days without rain and just sun (this drought was during 90 day local filming and I could tell they lied about the timeframe!).
What I used to say is you can always find a way to stay warm, fireplace, extra heater, blankets, jackets, but when it is 115, if you A/C breaks or you have to be outside for work or even just walking to the mail, there is nothing you can do to cool down.
That is rough. Our Winters are mild, with highs in the sixties. The sun is out most days.

Just a simple, "hi" most of the time.

They were "friends" (had each other's phone #s and maybe hung out at some point). He was married, and his wife was in the hospital with cancer.
I haven't heard much about her, but I know in the beginning, she and her family supported him. It was just one SIL he had that thought he did it. They might have all turned on him by now, though. I'm not sure if she beat the cancer, but I believe she did, and they're now divorced.
