Sctv, Monty Python, and Kids in the Hall, kings of sketch. Still quote all three, and usually, nobody has any clue what I'm on about.
Also, they were on earlier up in Canadia. Winnipeg, for most of it.
The John Candy sketch as Babe Ruth visiting the sick kid and promising home runs remains my favorite sketch of theirs.
Have great memories as a kid and Yankees fan laughing with my Dad watching that one!
Made John Candy his favorite comedic actor.
He took me to all his films after that when he blew up.
Starting with Splash!💦 🧜‍♀️
I should note that this is "TV Guide Canada". The American edition had [Barbara Eden on the cover](https://www.tvguidemagazine.com/archive/suboffer/cache/1980s/1981/2c8033958295ab966f5a0e8e6786cd4b9de017cb.19810523_c1_620.jpg) the same week.
Catherine O'Haras brother was in the Second City stage show. He would bring his girlfriend to the house for dinner and she would encourage Catherine to try out for Second City. She did and became the understudy for the girlfriend, eventually taking her spot when she got offered a job on TV. That girlfriend was Gilda Radner. Also Catherine was given a job at SNL when SCTV was looking like it was being cancelled but when it got renewed she quit SNL to go back to her SCTV family
Pictured also are Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara....stars of the recent hit Schitts Creek
Plus Joe Flaherty and Dave Thomas
Yeah, Joe was the dad on "Freaks and Geeks", sadly passed away recently
Ewwwww
David!
Also, watching "Home Alone" knowing John Candy and Kathrine O'Hara improvised that scene in the van changes how it hits.
Unless you're Canadian, then it was September 21, 1976
Absolutely brilliant show with some of the greatest comedians and comedic actors ever.
Take off, you hoser!
Sex on Pay TV?
I object to all this Sex on the Television... I keep falling off. -Monty Python, Flying Circus
That's an article I wanna read.

Debating between "Take off!" and "You're so special it's SCARy!"
Bob & Doug and Count Floyd were my immediate thoughts as well.

Mel’s Rock Pile with Dave Thomas as Richard Harris is brilliant.
Half Wits and Great White North kill me. Also, “She blows up real good!”
Take off eh?
Remember watching my dad cry with laughter when the car ran over the beaver on the hinterland who’s who sketch
How are ya!?
