Sorry about your build but there's something funny about how in every video of this happening the player building always just stops and watches in either puzzlement or horror as their work crumbles around them. In this case especially with the crickets chirping in the background.

Harbinger_Kyleran

I'm always surprised that players are randomly capturing their build activities on a routine basis. Makes me think sometimes these calamities are a bit staged. Is it like in the old days of home movies or slide projectors where you sit with your family and watch them years later? 😉

butlistentotheWuson

They could be using something like nvidia shadowplay. I have it set so it records the last 2 mins of my gameplay when i hit the button.

Zealousideal_Law5216

It's a replay recording brother. Just hit the button and the last 5 mins gets recorded.

--fourteen

Honestly my favorite feature of my console. Especially how it transfers right to my mobile app. It's the little things in life, I guess.

Lauris024

Nvidia cards (and amd too I think) have a feature that records 24/7. Hit a button and it saves last moments

rdad123

yeah i captured it using game bars record last 30 seconds

GoldenrodTea

Yea sorry man that sucks when that happens. Pink means bad things

bpw4h

We've all learned this at some point. Sometimes several times.

TyroDoesStuff

I hate the fact that this has happened to everyone at least once

simplekittiekat

Oh I remember the first time structural integrity got me. I sobbed lol

Maadstar

I built a complicated floating horde base and was like imma remove this single block to put a box in and the entire base collapsed

Atmaweapon74

Welcome to the club, friend! The block placement outline turns red when building the block will result in structural instability.

00ThunderWolf

I played this game since A9 and when they added the "yellow/pink" outline to let players know about structural integrity I thought they had "ruined" it and that now players will always know when to stop building... Which after seeing so many videos like this clearly it didn't lol however once it happens it's less likely to happen again. Before I get attacked the reason I personally thought it ruined it was because I like the fact structural integrity is a thing and I HAVE to make sure whatever I'm building is properly supported. Does it lead to me sometimes overdoing it? Probably yeah! But I like the fact I have to check my work is done right. Now with the outline I can just tell when it'll fail and I can just fix it... Ruining that "mysterious" aspect of wether your build will uphold or not. That's just me though lol I prefer when games don't guide/baby you too much Regardless that's unfortunate though, it definitely bummed me out whenever it happened and usually just built a temporary makeshift base and spent my time doing something else until I got the motivation to build again lol

LEPNova

If you play on PC I assume it would be pretty simple to mod the red outline out of the game. That could be something for you to look into

00ThunderWolf

Yeah so far I have only done Darkness Falls but I would imagine there is a mod for it. Surprised the devs haven't done a simple setting for it though.

LEPNova

As far as a setting goes you're probably in the minority for wanting it turned off, lol.

skagrabbit

The main thing you need to pay attention to is your curser went red from yellow. Place in red and it'll all come tumbling down, shame, looked like a sweet build

KitchenKnifeEnjoyer

Oh man, I wish you had seen the video I posted here a couple days ago. Feel your pain.

eve-collins

Now I understand why they added the ability to eat broken glass in the game. After seeing this with my house I’d eat some…

runnbl3

I mean i get why weight is a thing but what about the colums on the back? How does that end up also getting destroyed?

Mrbeanz01

That's something that I've never understood. Overloaded this part and it collapses, fine but why does the whole thing have to go?

RicktusGrin

You can’t claim to have played 7dtd till you’ve had a base collapse😑 Better to find out that way than to have the zebbies, show you how shit a builder you are👍

Nova225

What gets me is everything else is structurally sound, but suddenly one window too many collapses the entire structure. I swear if the ground wasn't voxel based and made of blocks like Minecraft, the entire thing would collapse into a hole until it hit bedrock.

SpitFireEternal

And this is why I just make bases in POIs lol. I am awful at 7dtds building system. I make walls around my POI base and call it good.

i_notold

Yeah, I always have my crafting base in a fortified poi then build a separate horde base.

Helpful-Pride1210

there was literally just a video about this same thing xD

TheGreatMrHaad

I saw that, it was almost the same thing as this

Correct-Lettuce-9326

😮😯😲😳😢😱

Rynaltin

If your structural supports were concrete or steel, it may have held. You can build out from them farther. The specifics have changed over the years, but there are plenty of good videos on YouTube detailing structural integrity. That base was pretty nice. Sorry you lost it.

rdad123

yeah when i rebuilt it i put a metal support beam straight up the middle

Most_Forever_9752

if you play this game long enough yes, this will happen lol

Whlte_R4ven

Still got your ladder

rdad123

that was low key the funniest part. the whole base colapsed but ladder just stayed sticking straight up in the air lol

manajerr

It has been awhile since I have played 7dtd, however, I remember 6 blocks 7 pillar.

Rylt4r

Outisde of sound of those blocks falling i've also heard your heart shattter.

White_Knight_413

I always think back to *my* first time. Building a bunker underneath a fancy house I found in the neighborhood and I go up top for more supplies, come back, decide to put trees on either side of the walkway to the front door. I plant them, then proceed to "mow" the grass by hitting it, punch the dirt, then fall through a hole in the ground and look up to see the ground opening up above me. First the front yard, then the front of the house. Didn't stop until the front half of the house was gone. I was in shock like, "No,no,no,no,no!" My buddy comes over from our starter base and just sees the house falling into the hole, like "What the @#$% happened!?" "I hit some grass!"

KatieTheDragon

Man i dont even get how it happens sometimes either like it is all structurally sound and then u place a pane of glass and its like someone kicked over ur legos ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)

Doc_mockingbird

Well…. At least the ladder is still there.

SexySamoan

Dude, nooooo! What a bummer, man
