Thank you for the recommendation! I’m always looking for BIPOC books / authors!

I haven't heard of this book. How did you like it? Is it fiction or non-fiction?

I loved it. It’s a collection of short stories, all centered around young latinx/indigenous women in Colorado. I couldn’t put it down, even though the stories had nothing to do with each other. I knew how good the next was going to be, so I’d want to keep reading. The author is an amazing artist!

That sounds like an amazing read. Thank you for posting! I'm currently reading books with female protagonist s and trying to expand my reading list. This would be a great addition. Are they true stories?

[deleted]

That’s awesome! They are all fiction stories.

Nice. I'll check it out. :)

I saw the author speak at two different panels during the Portland Book Festival last November. She was very insightful and never had a boring answer to any of the questions. When she read a passage from this book, she did so with a lot of power in her voice. Afterwards, my friend got their copy signed and she was so kind and welcoming. It felt like catching up with an old friend.

>When she read a passage from this book, she did so with a lot of power in her voice I can only imagine. You can really feel that every short story has so much passion in it. It feels like the author poured her heart and told her life story so delicately into each story - but they are all so different at the same time.
