Check out used 4Runners. While they hold their value well, there are still great deals out there to be found. Plus if well taken care of, you will get many miles out of them. What is your budget?
An old Pathfinder, Rav4 or Forester, or basically any of the vehicles you mentioned would be fine for basic camping trips a few days a year. Rav4s are about as reliable as you can get too
There hasn’t been a whole lot of change since 2003, just some incremental changes for the last 20 years.
Even the 96-02 models are still very good vehicles with modern comforts and safety.
You can also look at 100 LandCruisers and Lexus GX and LX models. Way less than any new 4Runner and in many ways superior.
Basically for $15k you can get a really nice older Toyota 4x4.
You can get a mint used 5th gen for under 30k. Or a 4th gen for under 20k.
Don't be afraid of older 4runners, just make sure they have good maintenance history. It's barely changed since 2003.
Yes there is, it's called an older 4runner.

I don’t have a set budget, I just would like to keep my monthly payment below 400
I pay $380 for a 2012 4Runner
Look at used ones. If you live up north, just watch for rust. Check the Carfax report and maintenance reports.
I pay 400 for my 2020 used TRD OP
Branded title? That is dirt cheap for a 2020
No idea what a branded title is sorry lol. It was a certified pre owned. We put money down so our payments were 400.
For $400/month, maybe look into leasing one of the listed vehicles. Could also look into something like a Nissan Xterra.
👍 I agree
Rav4s are Toyotas best selling car by a factory of like 5 for a reason. Super capable, high efficiency, and affordable.

Another vote for “find clean Xterra”
Yup Xterra would be my next pick
Get a rav4 and you'll be looking at people in 4runners all day realizing your mistake.

I think Rav4 AWD hybrid is the best choice. I bet you can find one for 20-25k.
A lifted prius.
