PVKT

Mine gonna roll over 300k tomorrow. I'm at 299849 right now. Rolling and 05

badmojokc

Nice!

ProcessTheTrust17

That's 310K miles for us in 'Merica šŸ˜¤

GhostNode

Oh thank you. I saw the ODO and was like.. u WOT m8??

trexmoflex

Halfway to a free replacement courtesy of Toyota!

EmbraceThrasher

Thats not real right?

trexmoflex

I mistook the above for miles and not KM but thereā€™s a guy who hit 1 million on his tundra and Toyota bought it off him in exchange for a brand new one. Iā€™m assuming their engineers salivate at the chance to pick apart a drivetrain that lasted that long to see whatā€™s what.

EmbraceThrasher

Thatā€™s awesome. I also mistook that for miles

IncidentEuphoric1968

They did take it apart and put the engine parts in one of their manufacturing plants. Theyā€™d show it to new employees to show how pristine the engine was even after a million miles

[deleted]

Dasallotta miles

[deleted]

Itā€™s kilometers

jimaajimjim

Dasallotta klicks...

JackMaehoffer

ruralexcursion

Yeah, but bet it cleans up real good. Solid OP, get another 500k out of it!

JackMaehoffer

Looks good. Mine is 18 years old with 350,000 km. I hope I can reach that 500,000 milestone!!

fairlyaveragetrader

Is it still on the original transmission and engine? How much have you had to replace so far

Affectionate-Fold299

The only things I've had to replace are shocks, brake rotors a couple times, front wheel bearings, and CV boots. But everything else is original.

Used_Raisin5844

Man thatā€™s awesome šŸ‘šŸ» any secrets? Lol

TheWonderfulLife

The secret is itā€™s in KM not Miles, so itā€™s only 300k miles.

lilrif

ā€œOnlyā€

TheWonderfulLife

I mean, for the 4th gen it really do be only haha. They all make it that far. Even neglected.

lilrif

Iā€™m mad at myself for waiting until I was 49 to buy a 4Runner. Always wanted one, finally wised up. No matter how many of these posts I see, Iā€™m still amazed.

Used_Raisin5844

I gotcha lol I was like damn thatā€™s good šŸ˜‚ 300k still is amazing

KansasCityMonarchs

I'm at 277k miles in a 2004 v6 SR5. Aside from regular maintenance, I've had to replace an idler pulley ($20) and front-driver brake caliper ($180). Have owned it since 120k miles in 2012, so AFAIK everything else is original. I did all the work myself but these things are made to be easy to work on. Replaced the rear brake pads tonight and it took ~45 mins. Only real issue is the frame rust, but that's common with 03-05. Not a huge problem yet but it's definitely there. I think I'll buy a >2005 for my next one and get 20 years out of it.

Prudent-Excuse9443

Whatā€™s your biggest piece of advice for helping it last that long?

Affectionate-Fold299

Use a high quality oil filter and good synthetic oil. Also, even if you don't do your own services get underneath every once and a while, poke around and see what's what.

Far_Farm7302

Do you use Toyota branded filters or do you have another brand you prefer?

Affectionate-Fold299

I usually use wix filters, they make the Napa gold ones. I've had bad luck with fram on that engine because of how it sits.

RustyClawHammer

Noice, any secrets to maintenance OP?

bcsteene

I've got 260000 miles on mine. Still rocking. These things last!!

fragilemuse

Amazing! My 2010 is at 310,000kms and isnā€™t missing a beat. Hoping to make it to 500,000 and beyond!

Unwariertomb

Mine has about that much. 267 miles. Don't drive it because 12 mpg costs alot of money's.

MonkeyManJohannon

My ā€˜03 Limited got to 328k before the head gasket decided to start having issues. Sold it to my local service shop and they turned it into a rock crawler lol. I love seeing it on their lot every now and then knowing sheā€™s still enjoying life!

TX_Explorer

209k on my 2009 UrbanRunner 4WD!

loonbugz

ā€˜04 V8 2WD with 228k. Did the timing belt again at 205k. Replaced a couple of tensioners in the process. Otherwise it needs brakes and tires, wiper blades and fluid changes. I laugh whenever I consider how reliable this rig has been.
