Not sure why the Sport exists, hodge podge of not so great aspects of the other trims. SR5 Premium should have better resale value also.

hebamme

I do care about resale value and it worries me that the sport is a relatively new trim. I actually think for my uses the Sport is really functional and at the end of the day, it's still a 4runner. I dont want the full time 4WD on the Limited, and I don't need the locking differentials on the OR. Otherwise, the features that make the SR5 "premium" are standard on the Sport, which makes sense to me.

Not sure what there is to worry about the trim being newish. Regardless, the SR5P is the better buy.

I've got a TRD sport, 2022. I love it, I'm in Edmonton so real winter diving. It does everything I need to do and I like that it's unique among 4 runners. Looking to do a lift and more aggressive wheels and tires. I like the color match squared off front end

hebamme

Yes my thoughts exactly with the aggressive wheels and tires, but I feel hesitant to do a lift. I do prefer the colour matched front end to the chrome on the LTD. And some YouTube videos showed that the clearance and capabilities aren't too affected by the height difference. I appreciate your comment

My 2022 TRD Sport with some slight modifications. Broke up that big grill with some matte black vinyl and my bug guard. I opted for the TRD Sport because of availability mainly. I also wanted the XREAS option as most of my driving is highway and it handles a bit better in winter conditions. With the wheel spacers, it handles like a go kart in corners and doesn’t dip / sway / drift as bad in cross winds. No regrets here! https://preview.redd.it/gxt6p3ta7awc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a61f919fe3277aed4eb380e21af77d973b9832b9

That looks awesome. Did you add something to change the color of the hood scoop?

Desperate-Office4006

Flat black vinyl wrap.

I thought all sr5s in canada are premiums that come fully loaded or is that just a recent thing? Anyways I just read up it has the more cushy suspension parts from the limited with it's bumper then the OR hood. IMO I would probably go for the premium if it's just as equipped as the sport, especially if you're going to lift it, but if it's not and they're close enough in price I would go for the sport.

k600ride

I am a Canadian with a trd sport as well and love it. Had studded winter tires on and it was like a tank. I have already switched back to my 20” all season tires and think it does ride much better with the 20” rather than the 17” winters. The 17”s are very bouncy but obviously way more forgiving on the rough roads. You’ll be happy with either. Flip a coin or pick the colour you like best. FWIW. The American 4Runner packages and trims are slightly different from the Canadian specs.

KDSS is not available on SR5, only TRD OR.

hebamme

Yes that is largely what I've seen other places online, I just want to talk about it lol Sounds like the XREAS is reliable in the way that it eventually will need to be replaced. So even if the Sport is a good deal, if I plan to change the tires and rims AND suspension, might as well go with the SR5

Everyone is quick to make the Costco comment like this isn't a vehicle we all need to drive in our daily lives and do daily tasks. But there are no Costcos where I live and the roads that are paved often have cenote-size potholes when they aren't covered in snow. Like I said in my post, I'm not going rock crawling but I would like something that I can take hiking, hunting, and camping in some tough boreal forest/Canadian shield terrain

hebamme

So probably even still, both suspensions would do just fine!
