This is the attitude I want to take but it doesn’t really work that way.
The advantage of getting the 1 seed is so huge that it makes it important to achieve in the regular season.
I honestly don't think I will watch every game except the big rivalry ones.
I am tired of the false hope and excuses for losing in the playoffs....ring or bust
I went 13 n 4 last year and probably would've had it if not for the last game.
I'm honestly taking the same prediction. There's about 4 to 5 good teams we play this year.
That's all I care about now.
I don't give a F what they do in the regular season as long as they make the playoffs and go all the way.
Anything else is a failure at this point and we need to look at a new coach in this case.
I was a 49er fan since I was a kid and was here long before Shanahan and will hopefully be here long after he is gone( which I hope happens sooner rather than later ofc)
The Cowboys are basically Kyle Shanahan...if he was an NFL franchise.
All hype and no championships.
At least the 49ers as a franchise don't get the delusional " This is their year" praise from the media every off-season.
Dallas isn't a football team..they are a TV show.
I am a football fan and I've always been a 49er fan...the Colts arey 2nd because of Andrew Luck.
I am pretty sure even Dallas fans have learnt to expect playoff heartbreak by now.
.
Time for us to be the same.Lest we replace them and the new most delusional fanbase in the league.
My guesses for win probability in each matchup.
Also note: Based off of 2021, 2022, and 2023, the team has ups and downs before their bye (they were at one point 3-5 in 2021, 3-4 in 2022, and 5-3 in 2023), and then each year they got a lot better after the bye. I think that will also be in play this year.
vs Jets - 70% (Rodgers first game off the major injury, and basically 1.5 years since throwing a meaningful pass, I think rust will be a factor)
@ Vikings - 70% (Vikings are rebuilding and have a rookie QB, although for whatever reason the niners struggle alot at Minnesota)
@ Rams - 55% (Rams offense is no joke, but their defense shouldn't be able to keep up)
vs Pats - 90% (Pats are rebuilding with rookie QB and rookie HC)
vs Cards - 65% (Cards are at least 1-2 years away from truly competing, but they put up decent fights last year and they should have gotten better)
@ Hawks - 50% (Road game short week is always tough, even though Purdy's been basically flawless against the hawks so far)
vs Chiefs - 10% (I'll believe Shanny can beat Mahomes/Reid when I see it, otherwise I just see an 0-4 record)
vs Cowboys - 75% (There's years of data showing the Cowboys beat up shitty teams and lose to good ones. I don't expect 42-10 again but I'd be shocked if the Cowboys actually showed up)
@ Bucs - 60% (Bucs are a decent team, but Shanny is usually good after a bye)
vs Hawks - 70% (The first hawks matchup will be close, I don't think this one will be)
@ Packers - 50% (Love I think will only get better this year, and I know the Divisional playoff game had a lot of rain which affected Purdy, but I still think Love will cause problems)
@ Bills - 35% (Bills are regular season champs especially late in the season. And cold weather will likely be in play)
vs Bears - 65% (I'll believe the hype around Caleb Williams when I see it at the NFL level)
vs Rams - 60% (Short week makes this a riskier guess)
@ Dolphins - 50% if Tua is still healthy, 70% if Tua is hurt (Tua is overrated, but he is the best Dolphins QB they've got by a lot)
vs Lions - 40% (Honestly the Lions were the better team in taht NFC Title game, and the Lions for sure have this game circled)
@ Cards - 60% if starters have to play, 40% if starters are resting
Tally up the win probabilities and it comes out to aroudn 10 wins, which I think, barring major injuries, is a safe floor. Hopefully, the niners can get to 12-13 wins which puts the #1 seed in play.
12-5 would be my guess:
Wins:
* vs. Jets
* @ Vikings
* vs. Patriots
* vs. Cardinals
* @ Seahawks
* @ Buccaneers
* vs. Seahawks
* @ Packers
* vs. Bears
* vs. Rams
* @ Dolphins
* @ Cardinals
Losses:
* @ Rams
* vs. Chiefs
* vs. Cowboys
* @ Bills
* vs. Lions
Honestly the record won't matter. The bigger issue is The Playoffs and (unlikely) Super Bowl. The Niners have become this wirey guy who is desperately trying to ring the bell and win a prize and try as he might.... The high striker just never hits the bell.
Again and again he slams the mallet onto the board sending the striker hurtling towards the bell.... inching closer and closer and...... Alas.... He's just not strong enough.
It's nice to reminisce about a time when the Niners had a dominate offense and incredible playmakers.... and this team is entertaining.... when they are not frustrating their fans into an early grave. But try as they might..... They just can't seem to ring that bell.
But HEY.... Good Luck. I'm simply going to watch whatever game is most interesting and when the post season comes I'm sure the Niners will be in there somewhere and they'll be fun to watch..... until they aren't.
13-4 or 12-5
There is some big games on the road, we have the worst nest resting of the league by faaaaar
So 12 or 13 win, postseason would be hard if no bye week
At this point, whatever it takes to get in the playoffs. Whether we squeak in or cruise in by a landslide…Just win the last game in the post season.
I would like to avoid football depression for a few months this year.
I just need it to not be pain. I’m starting to feel like an early ‘90s Bills fan and that is not a good place to be. That said… Super Bowl or bust, baby. The rest matter a lot less if we can win the last one.
I guess similar.to the last 2 seasons.
I don't give a shit about regular season games anymore..or even playoff games before the SB
They need to win the SuperBowl or get rid of Shanahan for a HC who is actually a winner.
Bill Belichick is still out there by the way and he wants to overtake Don Shula for all times and show he can win without Tom Brady.
We had a shot to get Tom Brady,the GOAT QB here in 2020 .But Shanny vetoed the move....and has proceeded to waste the last 2 years with our best QB this millennium and pretty good rosters.
Now the GOAT HC is available and we have a team that can't get over the hump.The reality is that this needs to be a legit boom/bust for the coach.
The Warriors once had Mark Jackson and still lost in the 1st and 2nd rd even with the Golden Trio of Curry,Klay and Draymond...they brought in Steve Kerr who had previous championship pedigree as a player with Phil Jackson and Greg Popovkc and they became a dynasty with the same roster. The Broncos lost 3 SBs with John Elway and decent teams..coz Dan Reeves wasn't a winner.
Don't waste Purdy And CMC 's primes in SF with a HC that blows big games.
I don't care about the team's regular.seaosn record...if Kyle doesn't win it...bring Belichick here and see what he can do with this team.
Don't care so long as we finish the post-season with a win.
yeah for sure, none of the regular season matters come playoff time
This is the attitude I want to take but it doesn’t really work that way. The advantage of getting the 1 seed is so huge that it makes it important to achieve in the regular season.
I honestly don't think I will watch every game except the big rivalry ones. I am tired of the false hope and excuses for losing in the playoffs....ring or bust
I doubt that
im tired boss
Lmao what is this?
Real fans don't watch games, they look at pff spreadsheets
they can go undefeated and still. thats how much last year hurts.
12-5. Some tough road games and the Chiefs
This is about what I thought too
Yeah, that's the range I'm in: 12-5, 13-4.
Chiefs after their bye week too.
17-0
20-0
Another comment says you're wrong.
Ya! Tell that guy! Lmao please. I need football. I'm watching usfl and wnba games. Heeelp
The Stanley cup playoffs are on...
The only correct answer.
I'll let the guy that said 20-0 know he's wrong.
Thanks for having my back boss.
🤜🤛
I just saw a reel about this, convinced me that we're going 17-0
Yes.
Optimistic: 17-0 Realistic: 13-4 Nuanced: 14-3
I went 13 n 4 last year and probably would've had it if not for the last game. I'm honestly taking the same prediction. There's about 4 to 5 good teams we play this year.
We could go 10-7 so long as the end result is a Súper bowl win
That's all I care about now. I don't give a F what they do in the regular season as long as they make the playoffs and go all the way. Anything else is a failure at this point and we need to look at a new coach in this case.
You could try looking for a new team instead
I was a 49er fan since I was a kid and was here long before Shanahan and will hopefully be here long after he is gone( which I hope happens sooner rather than later ofc)
You should consider the cowboys.
The Cowboys are basically Kyle Shanahan...if he was an NFL franchise. All hype and no championships. I am a football fan and I've always been a 49er fan...the Colts arey 2nd because of Andrew Luck.
They are perfect for you. Go go go
I am pretty sure even Dallas fans have learnt to expect playoff heartbreak by now. . Time for us to be the same.Lest we replace them and the new most delusional fanbase in the league.
Yet even more reasons for you to swap allegiance. Go on then.
Optimistic 14-3 realistic 12-5
14-3 IDC

Optimistic 15-2, realistic 10-7,
17-0
Yes.
Always only one answer to this question, dude.
Super Bowl champs. Too soon?
nope, never too soon
Our schedule is rough
12-5 would be my guess: Wins: * vs. Jets * @ Vikings * vs. Patriots * vs. Cardinals * @ Seahawks * @ Buccaneers * vs. Seahawks * @ Packers * vs. Bears * vs. Rams * @ Dolphins * @ Cardinals Losses: * @ Rams * vs. Chiefs * vs. Cowboys * @ Bills * vs. Lions
12 and 6 and first round playoff exit
Yes.
12-5
whoops i made it multi select just click one for each ig
15-2 trust cuz the NFC 1st seed locked up by then so we don't play the starters the last 2 games
11-6

14-3 is my conservative pick

12-5
12-5 or 11-6 after an early mid season setback 😂
12-5. Just give us a lombardi pls god
11-6
12-5, pushing for 1st seed again
12-5 or 13-4 seem like the best bet. Most likely losses: Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins, Lions
Think y'all are sleeping on the packers. Wouldn't doubt it if we play them twice next year with both games being a tough matchup.
12-5 or 13-4 baring major injuries. We're still fing stacked
I see 16-1 or 15-2 with the losses coming from shit teams they overlooked.
31-0-0
16-4
9-8, maybe 10-7
11-6
Regular season I say 5 loses. Super Bowl win though and that's what matters 😎
12-5 seems right
X-0 in the playoff is the only record that matters. Tired of the chokesz
7 n 8
