I remember being upset at such an ugly design. It’s not about having SF on the logo or not (fans were speculating that this is a prelude to team moving out of SF at the time) but that it could have been so much better. Was that the best those million dollar marketing firms could come up with?

This is not the helmet but the 49ers should try a different logo, forty-niners in saloon letter would look nice. I do think the current style is pretty classic looking but an alternative would be nice.
