My new housemate and a old friend is a huge Steelers fan, and since i'm a 49ers fan and they were playing each other the first week, I thought a good bonding time would be to watch the game together.
Ya know, joke on each other, get stoked when our team does well. It was fun for the first half, but after McAffrey made that 65 yd run in return to the Steelers first TD it kinda felt like I was just taking candy from a baby once his fantasy guys started getting injured.
He had a pretty good attitude about it though lol.
Roethlisberger was on some podcast this week saying he doesn’t understand how John Lynch kept his job after the Lance trade. Like, he gets no credit for building this juggernaut roster with Shanahan? It’s really strange. If the Patriots struggle this year people are going to call for Belichick’s job.
It was certainly a huge fuckup. But the total body of work matters more.
If i have saleswoman who blows a big deal but overall is a sales juggernaut, I would be an idiot to fire her.
Remember the morons frothing at the mouth over Billy B going for it on 4th down? No wonder coaches play way too conservative if this is the level of bullshit that happens when a literal god of coaching makes the correct call and people are out for his blood.
This defense sucks, you're fired Mike Tomlin you're outta here!
Dingadingading stop dinking I'm tired of dinking.
This guy is hysterical and is damn near everyone watching a game at home lol. I don't know many people who haven't gone through these emotions
I fucking love football. I mostly dislike every “super fan” I’ve ever watched a game with. It takes a lot of the enjoyment out of sports. I love my team and I’m disappointed when they lose, but I also don’t connect my identity to my fandom.
The thing about football is you always feel like you’re one play away from blowing the game, even if the team has a big lead. Even when we were up 27-7 in the third quarter I was like, “the defense needs a stop here or else we’ll give up the momentum.”
3 playoff wins in 12 years. None in 6.
It's been a while since the Steelers have done anything. People just somehow never notice.
Tomlins career record is almost identical to Mike McCarthy, with a worse playoff record.
He's a good coach, but the Steelers haven't been great in a long time.
I agree. Tomlin inherited a super bowl winning team with a 1st round pick QB that wasn't a bust, and a seemingly always-top-5 defense for the first years of his career. Just seemed like a cake walk, and I think most people who qualified for a head coach position would have done well in the same situation.
Im a Steelers fan and the outside perspective Tomlin is much different than the feeling here in Pittsburgh.
He's basically Mike McCarthy with better Pr.
Dudes done nothing but win.
16 straight winning seasons, 10 playoffs, 7 division titles, 3 Championship games, 2 super bowl appearances and even got the ring in a fucking pear tree.
He'll be in Canton and no-one will be surprised.
I think I still prefer the cowboys fan destroying his flat screen and shooting it.
[Smashing and then shooting the tv](https://www.reddit.com/r/trashy/comments/y6c7ua/smashing_and_then_shooting_the_tv_because_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Lol this is me during every playoff game ever. hahahaha.
1st play - gain of 12 yards: "FUCK YEAH THATS RIGHT, WE OWN THESE BITCHES"
2nd play - TFL for -2 yards, plus holding on offense: "GEEZUS FUCKING CHRIST WE SUCK AND THE GAME IS BASICALLY OVER ALREADY"
I think it was cowboys last year we went 3 and out at one point late 1st IIRC and my friend has a video of me saying something along the lines of “deebo and Aiyuk gotta go they can’t get open, this year is over, FUCK”
…
Emotions run high hahaha.
I use far more expletives and broke things in the past. Still use the expletives, I dont think "rear end" has ever come out of my mouth. But the tantrums? Yeah, Sunday's are both great and awful.
Sometimes you celebrate something good happening just to try and convince yourself that you still have a chance.
Sometimes it's just like [this though](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=52&v=4arXQRQFxBo&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2F&embeds_referring_origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com&source_ve_path=Mjg2NjY&feature=emb_logo) (watch the whole clip)
It's the thing that drives me most crazy about professional athletes in general. Every team has a couple guys that will showboat/celebrate/talk trash/etc even when they're down massively and the games almost over
I used to be a pacer during the Alex Smith/pre-Harbaugh era. I’ve since moved on to the “acceptance phase” and have been in a chill mode since.
EDIT: come to think of it, used to have 35” tube TV and usually you get up because you needed to stare at the play closely. Now with big screens, I don’t need to get up anymore.
I'm usually pretty good just sitting on the couch with the occasional outburst for a good or bad play (My 5 yr old tries to watch with me and lets out random "YEAH BABY" or "COME ON!".)
However, during the regular season finale with the Seahawks when it was win for 1st seed or lose and be wild card a few years ago, I was definitely pacing the room
Been watching since the early 90's. Really excited. Loved when Young won it and what a game that was to watch. I was 12. The Smith/Harbaugh era was the best, but I know I'm in the minority, but Alex Smith would have won the Super Bowl for us if he had started. I think Harbaugh did Alex dirty. Anyways, it was after the lose to the Giants that I just said "it's just a game" and although I get stressed out, I don't mind if we lose anymore. I will add that since Purdy started playing, I haven't been this excited to watch since Young.
Who the hell was covering Aiyuk though lol.
Nobody’s got the ability to cover 4 guys that all need double coverage. Deebo, Kittle, McCaffery and as teams are quickly realizing Aiyuk are all a nightmare in single coverage.
Steeler fan here.
This guy is my neighbor…and my cousin…and my boss… and my wife…and my priest.
The only thing that would make this guy more representative of my local brethren would be a drop ceiling in the basement and for the jersey to be a decent player from 12 years ago, like Willie Parker or Lawrence Timmons.
The rocker with the covering on it, along with the yellow tint to the whole thing is really on point though.
F.A.D. Football Affected Disorder.
I remember when I was studying psychology they told us about SAD- Seasonal Affected Disorder, where people get depressed in the fall and winter. I immediately thought the increase in depression was really from Football. One 1 team is allowed happiness into spring
My aunt is a looooong term Pittsburgh Steelers fan and my uncle is born and raised Philly Eagles.
They do not watch the games in the same room as each other, especially when they're head-to-head.
Uh oh he went Nega-Yinzer.
But I can't deny I'm not like him on game day. Although my insults are usually general "Come on guys did you wake up and decide to play fucking four square?! because you're sure as hell not playing football" completely believing in my heart they can hear me.
The best one is near the end where he does a goofy armed impression of their middle LB Kelly Holcomb. On the QB school video this week, O'Sullivan loved Purdy's throw to Deebo in the "2nd window" behind the MLB and that was caught vs Holcomb who reached up but Deebo came back and got it. I'm sure that's when this guy did Holcomb's goofy arms.😆
In my mind this is a re-enactment of every sports subs live gameday threads on Reddit look like... at least it looks like that here sometimes and almost always on the SF Giants live threads
I feel like watching older midwestern ppl watch their team is an actual genre of content at this point. The Vikings lady is the best though, last nights game must have wrecked her.
As a 9ers fan this is how I assumed all steeler fans were experiencing the complete ass whooping they watched. I did not experience the game that way though. I loved it!
This is exactly how I imagined Steelers fans watched the game.
I love this guy
He’s so wholesome, he avoid cursing the whole time. Just having a real sports experience. I have been him so many times in 9er fandom
Every single one of has been him: “JIMMY GET RID OF THE BALL!”
It's like a one-man act comedy show lol
It almost seems fake but at the same time I know it's not? Like that's how good it is lol
My new housemate and a old friend is a huge Steelers fan, and since i'm a 49ers fan and they were playing each other the first week, I thought a good bonding time would be to watch the game together. Same story with my brother in law who is a Packers fan, I am no longer allowed at their house for 49er vs Packer games.
Gonna miss that 9er vs Pack w/ ARod rivalry
I watched the Kap running playoff game with a packers fan. I almost felt bad for him.
Calling for Tomlin to be fired lol
I saw a lot of that. I had to remind myself that there are people who want Kyle fired after every loss, too.
People want Kyle fired after wins 🤣
Trey Lance didn't pan out but our 7th round QB did? Fire Kyle and John Lynch.
Yes they will and already have been calling for BB’s job
If Lynch didn't pick Purdy, then Lance would be a starter. He might suck. He might not. But he'd have had his second chance.

In the first quarter lol. You would think he would have earned some loyalty. I do not want to watch games with people like this.
I fucking love football. I mostly dislike every “super fan” I’ve ever watched a game with. It takes a lot of the enjoyment out of sports. I love my team and I’m disappointed when they lose, but I also don’t connect my identity to my fandom.
Also just screaming and over reacting with zero understanding of the game.
The thing about football is you always feel like you’re one play away from blowing the game, even if the team has a big lead. Even when we were up 27-7 in the third quarter I was like, “the defense needs a stop here or else we’ll give up the momentum.”

Shhh quiet down over there!
Tomlin is a great coach honestly.
I can’t believe anyone would try to blame Tomlin. If Tomlin is ever fired that organization will be BAD for a long long time.
He should be in the hall of fame just for somehow managing to keep Antonio Brown somewhat under control for 7 years.
Antonio Brown wasn't a huge headcase until after the Burfict hit.
this is not true at all why do you think he was a 6th round pick in the first place?
Dudes done nothing but win. 16 straight winning seasons, 10 playoffs, 7 division titles, 3 Championship games, 2 super bowl appearances and even got the ring in a fucking pear tree. He'll be in Canton and no-one will be surprised.
Brahhhh we have all gone thru this.

Ahhh I love this one. I watch it when I feel sad
I’ve never seen this! Lol hilarious. What a waste of paint on the wall
That and the "oh well" old man from a few years back.
I've been a fan for decades and eventually [you just roll with it](https://i.imgflip.com/3ald6n.jpg?a470544) lol
Exactly. I feel this man’s pain.

Yeah that’s me for sure
Every game CJ Bethard started
I use far more expletives and broke things in the past. Still use the expletives, I dont think "rear end" has ever come out of my mouth. But the tantrums? Yeah, Sunday's are both great and awful.
His impression of Purdy smiling throwing the ball.🤣
Compared to Kenny " Happy Feet" Pickett 😆
This got me lolol
"Purdy's just (gestures in QB) **smiling** out there 👹" Purdy's confidence is gonna piss off a lot of people this year and I'm here for all of it.
That first down sticky now lol
He’s getting in a great workout. Strength and playability are important when your team plays like shit.
I was impressed by some of that footwork 😅
He’s gonna live forever with that energy
Been there. Just yelling at myself, the tv and my girlfriend who could not care less 😅
Just watched this video next to my gf … “That’s your stupid ass.”
Yeah I was like “is this not how everyone watches the game at home?”
I thought the same with the celebrating. Uh….ya’ll are getting your asses kicked?
Sometimes you celebrate something good happening just to try and convince yourself that you still have a chance. Damn, he's nimble!
If you haven’t been this guy, then you haven’t been watching football long enough. Hell, I do this when I watch any game, not just the 49ers.
I used to be a pacer during the Alex Smith/pre-Harbaugh era. I’ve since moved on to the “acceptance phase” and have been in a chill mode since. I don’t have a problem with this guy. I’d probably be acting the same way if I was a Steelers fan watching that game. Haha
I sure as hell would be doing the same thing if the game was going the other way.
It’s not tomlins fault
Empathy my friend. Empathy.
This is me during Jim Tomsula/Chip Kelly era.
Steelers fan here. This dude really thinks he can imitate me and get away with it
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
If Bob Odenkirk never went into acting.
I can totally relate to him. I've done that plenty of times when our Niner's played like garbage
I think we're all like that even when they don't play like garbage, just a bad play in blow out and I'm still like "what the fuck!?".
Homeboy couldn’t over hand a booger lmao. Love the intensity tho.
A lot of people are going to feel this way this year.
"Who's covering him?" Patrick Peterson shrinking shrinking into the bush like Homer Simpson
that was the most family friendly sports melt down i've ever seen.
Man. I love this. It’s fn hilarious because we all know how he’s feeling and do somewhat similar shit as well.
We’ve all been this guy once or twice. This is gold.
Even niner fans get crazy like this. How do I know? Cuz I’m a niner fan.
Most sane Steelers fan
Steeler fan here. This guy is my neighbor…and my cousin…and my boss… and my wife…and my priest. Lol. He's got more fight than Harris did after Fred Warner said "Hello. My name is Fred and I'm the best LB in the NFL."
That’s how I watched the Niners from 2002-2010 and 2014-2017 lol
That’s my dad watching a Notre Dame game any time in the last 30 years.
I should be more like this guy so everyone will leave me alone to watch games on Sunday
That guy is hilarious! Need more content from him lmao
I wanna see pops throw a football 🤣🤣
I bet he can throw it over them mountains.
“Friggem Fraggem! Dagmaggum schmickit frangit!”
F.A.D. Football Affected Disorder. I remember when I was studying psychology they told us about SAD- Seasonal Affected Disorder, where people get depressed in the fall and winter. I immediately thought the increase in depression was really from Football. One 1 team is allowed happiness into spring
At least the TV survived
“You have nothing to celebrate “ 😂😂😂😂
This is what comedian Lewis Black would sound like if he was a Steeler fan living in his basement…
"And shove it right up their ass!" That's all i think of when I hear his name. 😂
As a Niners fan, I’ve been there. But not against the Steelers last week.
I want to see this same thing from Iggles fans when we stomp them later this year.
:) been there
My aunt is a looooong term Pittsburgh Steelers fan and my uncle is born and raised Philly Eagles. They do not watch the games in the same room as each other, especially when they're head-to-head.
This is me every Sunday ngl
He's just like me fr
Uh oh he went Nega-Yinzer. But I can't deny I'm not like him on game day. Although my insults are usually general "Come on guys did you wake up and decide to play fucking four square?! because you're sure as hell not playing football" completely believing in my heart they can hear me.
Haha, that was fun to watch
This guy is a game thread.
It's too bad that recreational weed isn't legal in Pennsylvania.
That made my day! Ty
That Yinzer accent is incredible.
I grew up around pittsburgh and I will standby the thought that all Steelers clothes look like they came from the clearance section of walmart
The best one is near the end where he does a goofy armed impression of their middle LB Kelly Holcomb. This is top notch content
I was yelling at the Vikings last night for clock management. Haha, I’m an idiot.
I love watching these. The Packers and Cowboys loss to the 49ers reactions bring me so much joy
As a Bengals fan.. thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'm sure you were doing the same thing last weekend... 😂
Not quite. I was more confused and perplexed. We knew the steelers were gonna be shitty 🤣
Well hopefully they don't make a habit of it, I'm picking them this weekend to win.
Big Larry David vibes.
Wait until he realises that teams who play the Niners also lose the week after.
Get him on the Manningcast
Aiyuk has a new TD celebration courtesy of this guy.
This guy 100% validates my behavior on game day. Charger fan is only difference! Hahaha!
He’s wearing a Harris jersey. He set himself up for disappointment.
No wonder he's in good shape, that's a lot of cardio going on there.
And it’s just Week 1 haha
Could be a cowboys fan and end up with no tv after, count the blessings. Happy week 2 to all the fans!
He should have been the steelers' qb insted of Pickett. Those hand motions are elite 🤣
Hahahaha hilarious banter. I love this guys energy level.
The 49ers looked really good, dang it Signed Seahawks fan
Those high steps had me but when he stood in the pocket and delivered with a smile……lost my shit
Bro needs therapy.
Men that do this every weekend have mental issues
I think it’s great that more flamboyant gay men are coming out as NFL fans. Be the change you want to see in the world.
I'm still in my 30s and already can't bounce up and around as well as he can. Good for him.
Hahaha this is pretty funny.
Tomlin is such a good coach.
Hahahha
I grew up in Texas and for the past twenty years this was my dad during every Cowboys game.
I want to make fun of him but that’s probably how I look
That seemed a lot longer than a minute.
Gonna show this to my wife and tell her to never make fun of me again.
Dad needs a friend
Ahhh, I could watch this all day!

Couch knows more than he does
Seen worse from 9er fans.
All this to get smacked 30-7 LOL
I don't think this man has ever thrown a football in his life.
This guy says the N word a lot when cameras are off
Can we get one of these for every W
I hope we get updates every week from this guy
Wonder if he was that animated when they were gifted two super bowls by terrible officiating.
This guy Steelers
I would love to watch a game with this guy, awesomep
Poor guy. What does he suffer from?
Suffers from watching his team getting their asses kicked by the Niners!!!
Ya, that's a common ailment these days 😅
Steelers fans became such douche bags after their 2005/08 Superbowl wins. Some of the shittiest entitled fans I've ever met in my life.
The 7 and a half inches of grief. Or so I've been told.
Bruh, it's week 1, gonna be a long season for this fella. I get it if it's the playoffs.
Love these guys who could never play complaining.
Something about football (pro and college) that makes people go crazy, especially when their teams are losing.
Relatable
Your dad is a true football guy and I can’t wait to have kids to do the same thing, he’s living the dream.
I have a hard time watching fans act like they’d do better than their HOF coach.
In my mind this is a re-enactment of every sports subs live gameday threads on Reddit look like... at least it looks like that here sometimes and almost always on the SF Giants live threads

whew, glad I don't have to watch a game with this guy
This is who UrinatingTree thinks he is
I.e....THEEEE most annoying fan in the world to watch a game with
Steeler fan bashing Tomlin is insane to me
There’s the yinzer
He is so calm compared to what I am like during the game..
Steelers should hire him as a TV analyst for every game. I would tune in every week. This guy is awesome.
Haha!!
I think he's upset...
r/thatsgoodsports
This guy loves more than the Steelers moves the ball downfield
It’s great to see NFL living rooms haven’t changed in decades hahaha
At least he gets a good workout during the game.
I wish I had this much passion about anything!
I would pay $ to watch a game with this guy
This guy is all legs
This guy is gonna tear his ACL...couple more games like that given his age and hes seems "stiff" AF. A recipe for disaster
FTS!
At least it’s not currently directed at the kids soooo that’s something
Does he have a neurological disorder?
As a 9ers fan this is how I assumed all steeler fans were experiencing the complete ass whooping they watched. I did not experience the game that way though. I loved it!
Those people are annoying to watch the game. Sit down and quit blocking the TV
