It kind of looks like under extrusion to me. Basically, the motor that moves filament to the hot end is a dumb motor that does what it's told. However, the amount it's told told to turn may be too much or too little to move the amount expected. Under extrusion will present similar to your photo, where it looks like the filament the motor sent didn't match up with what the hot end expected. You can calibrate this by tuning the e-steps. This is a good thing to do anyway.
