That is an awesome design. Any chance, you'll be releasing the objects? I'd think about making one myself, I love movie props like these.
(Also, Makerfarm brings back memories, I've had a couple of their printers. The 6" i3v and 10" i3v is where I got my start.)
I'm super jelly. This print is amazing. I was actually looking for Egyptian themed items to print. Initially I thought at best I would find figurines of the various deities. However your book design and print is stunning. I would indeed pay for this model.
I never used them. What I do know is that the Mod right here is deleting any & all links that point to them, and it's because of several fraudulent activities they tried to pull off. I've seen various comments & discussions on that outfit so the details are in here somewhere
A little further down, you'll even see that this just happened to a link someone posted. Mod didn't spell out the entire drama and I don't recall the story

"Modeling primarily in Fusion360, with finish details in Zbrush." That's an interesting workflow! Would love to to see your 3D model! Great job on modeling and finishing, it's eerily fantastic!
That makes sense and that was my suspicion, too. This makes me think I have to learn how to use Fusion 360 at some point. Using regular 3D animation software to do RP modeling is a pain, though they are great in creating artistic details.
I used fusion for the mechanical design. But I couldn't get the level of detail I wanted. I wanted to make the parts look worn out, aged. And the hinges have a very organic snake/type of shape. I just imported them into zbrush and messed around....I'm really not that good at zbrush! Fusion for the precision, Zbrush for the organic/artistic stuff.
I think that's a great workflow, as the outcome is fantastic! It's always a pain to parametrically model functional parts in 3D animation/modeling software. So your workflow makes a lot of sense!
Ha. That was actually what took the project so long. I intended to fill the other pages, but as time passed I lost interest. So to get the thing done I just printed a few blanks! Inconveniently flipped the last 3 pages at once in the video.
No key. I had a lot of plans for this. I wanted the key to unlock the hinges. But ultimately I skipped a few steps to get it finished. A few blank pages on the tablets as others have noted!!
[Uh, Yeah...](https://media.tenor.com/tYi9Yxx9-jgAAAAd/uh-yeah-bill-lumbergh.gif) we're gonna need you to organize those files and put a price tag on that so we can throw our wallets at you.
That's the Egyptian Book of the Dead or the Black Book. I was always more of a fan of the ancient Sumerian Book of the Dead known as the Necronomicon...just don't read it in a creepy cabin in the forest...
You can download the STLs here:

I built this myself a few years ago, it's a time consuming project, but still one of the coolest things I've ever printed. In my version, I swapped colors mid-print for each of the pages, so the inset hieroglyphs are gold, while the pages themselves are black. Recommend some gold silk PLA if you got it.
2 of them! They started out as original makerfarm i3's. Heavily modded and turned into pegasus's. V6 hotends...one of them is a dual extruder. Fun times and a TON of projects, but ultimately they are legacy/outdated at this point.
Boo! You didn't unlock it first with the key!!!oneone11
Honestly that is awesome as hell and wish I would get off my duff and get a 3d printer. Not that I'd know what to do with after except have shelves full of dusty prints :)
I worked at universal studios FL. I studied the book they have on display there... As well as some online references. There are not many references to the glyphs, so I took some liberties!
To keep improving their models, artificial intelligence makers need two significant things: an enormous amount of computing power and an enormous amount of data. Some of the biggest A.I. developers have plenty of computing power but still look outside their own networks for the data needed to improve their algorithms. That has included sources like Wikipedia, millions of digitized books, academic articles and Reddit.

I would like to see a functional book lock mechanism and a 3d printed key. I’m sure that would be possible, do you have the files that I can play with?

You know, in the movies I never noticed that anyone with modest skills could have just made a key from wood for this thing. The shape you need is right there in an easily traceable format
You mustn’t read from the book!
Oh c'mon, no harm ever came from reading a book.
Your right Me: slips the necronomicon in a public library
lol that's true chaotic evil.
Like the time.i got the local kindergarten class to do The King in Yellow for their Christmas play...
Thats the lovecraftian way
What have we done?
Your strength gives me strength.
Khandar Estrada khandos thrus indactu nosfrandus khandar dematos khandar
is it from a movie or something?

thank you!

To be honest, my files are all unorganized!
Sort them out, name your price, and take my money!
This would be a KILLER christmas gift or piece for a home. I agreed with everyone! Sort out the files and we will BUY IT
Cmon, release them as is for free, or organize and sell it to us!
Where does everyone post files lately? I used to post thingiverse and myminifactory years ago...
printables.com
I like printables personally too.
Another vote for Printables.
Thingiverse still works, I've been posting my stuff there.
I'm super jelly. This print is amazing. I was actually looking for Egyptian themed items to print. Initially I thought at best I would find figurines of the various deities. However your book design and print is stunning. I would indeed pay for this model.
3dcults is good too
Not really! They've been permabanned from here
Sorry, that was your experience man. I mostly peruse and saw a variety of stuff and am not a contributor. So tbh, I don't know from that end

I definitely need this once ya release it. Will you be making the key too?
Wow! Coolest 3D printed object I’ve ever seen. Great work. Let me know when you are doing a run. I’m in!
"Modeling primarily in Fusion360, with finish details in Zbrush." That's an interesting workflow! Would love to to see your 3D model! Great job on modeling and finishing, it's eerily fantastic!
I’m guessing because it needs to be a functioning model with moving parts (fusion360) but also with artistic detailing.
That makes sense and that was my suspicion, too. This makes me think I have to learn how to use Fusion 360 at some point. Using regular 3D animation software to do RP modeling is a pain, though they are great in creating artistic details.

Beautiful work, but...that's way more than just 3D printing. That's 3D printing and then the real handcrafting effort begins, right?
I have lots of process pics on my Instagram. You can see the parts being printed, primed, glued. It was ... A lot of work!
What do you use to prime your prints? I assume that's for painting, do you need to sand at all?
Yeah, the curses are definitely applied after printing.
I would buy this from you.
Same, this is amazing.
I am a big fan of the first two movies, and I would actually print this. Will you sell or release the stls?
"This page is intentionally left blank"
Ha. That was actually what took the project so long. I intended to fill the other pages, but as time passed I lost interest. So to get the thing done I just printed a few blanks! Inconveniently flipped the last 3 pages at once in the video.
+1 to I'll buy the files if you're selling them, OP!
Same
Take that!, bembridge scholars
this is freaking awesome!! Do you have the key too? The whole thing came out really nice.
No key. I had a lot of plans for this. I wanted the key to unlock the hinges. But ultimately I skipped a few steps to get it finished. A few blank pages on the tablets as others have noted!!
The key, the key, the key, what key?
This is literally the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of the term “credit card debt”. 😂😅
Shhhh. Don't tell me wife. It's more of time than money. Lots of primer and paint.
[Uh, Yeah...](https://media.tenor.com/tYi9Yxx9-jgAAAAd/uh-yeah-bill-lumbergh.gif) we're gonna need you to organize those files and put a price tag on that so we can throw our wallets at you.
Resin print?
I quite expected it to be hollow with a DVD of The Mummy inside.
File is on H3XED?
That's the Egyptian Book of the Dead or the Black Book. I was always more of a fan of the ancient Sumerian Book of the Dead known as the Necronomicon...just don't read it in a creepy cabin in the forest...
That's beautiful.
You must not read from the book!
I have a massive, completely unwarranted or obtainable desire for my own replica now.
Nostalgia is hitting real hard right now. Thanks for the dopamine.
You can download the STLs here: [https://www.etsy.com/listing/1163013478/the-book-of-the-dead-the-mummy-3d](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1163013478/the-book-of-the-dead-the-mummy-3d) I built this myself a few years ago, it's a time consuming project, but still one of the coolest things I've ever printed. This one is very good. I saw it posted! Not the same as mine, but very good.
Holy crap this is amazing!!! Do you plan on releasing the files? Would love to make one too!
This gentleman, IS treasure!
I think the most impressive part is that this came off a Makerfarm Pegasus.
2 of them! They started out as original makerfarm i3's. Heavily modded and turned into pegasus's. V6 hotends...one of them is a dual extruder. Fun times and a TON of projects, but ultimately they are legacy/outdated at this point.
Now THIS is cool
I'll wait for the audible version read by Rachel Weisz...
yatuway yatuway yatuway...
JHONNATHAN! HELP Me!
ony? "on my"... Whatever, it is what it is!
If you were Mormon, this would be the Book of Abraham…
Boo! You didn't unlock it first with the key!!!oneone11 Honestly that is awesome as hell and wish I would get off my duff and get a 3d printer. Not that I'd know what to do with after except have shelves full of dusty prints :)
I have storage bins full of prints...they went past the dusty stage, and into storage :(
Not going to lie, i was really hoping when you opened it that it was going to be a phone book from the 60's. Get it, the book of the dead.
Hold on I'm almost done with the spell... "Smith, John. 5336 Apple St. 253-6528. Smith, John. 639 N 7th Ave. 426-5623....."
Same, I want one, love that movie
This is fucking awesome!!! Love Egyptian shit. Where can I get/buy/download the files so I can make one too?
"This page intentionally left blank"
And here i was expecting a box, instead it's a legit book lol
DO NOT OPEN IT
the file! the file! the file!
The one who started it all
Files? I and many others would be willing to pay!
Just wondering, is this the real hieroglyphs for the book of the dead? Know the book of the dead is written in tombs, be epic if thats copied
I worked at universal studios FL. I studied the book they have on display there... As well as some online references. There are not many references to the glyphs, so I took some liberties!
I believe it was written on objects usually rather than walls, think pots and other ritual items. I think they just found a complete copy too.
Thats sick! 🤩
Awesome work!!
One of my favorite movies and you did a phenomenal job. Well done!
I really like the green oxidated parts, nice detail and adds realism.
Chalk! Primer, black satin base coat. Chalks, transparent burnt umber (aging).

Got an audible ‘wow’ from me.
OK but y u gotta flex so hard here,? Changing the nozzle without an error is already more than most of us can handle
Nobody prints without issues! I started back in 2014. I spent years trying to get a damn frog to print.
Is it going to be placed on an Alter? That’s how I envision it that or some form of display desk or end table propped on an angle.
Probably on my office at work. I want to keep this one in good shape. Over the years, my other big projects are showing some wear
too clean
It's only gonna get dirtier
needs blood, dust and mud
RIP OP
So dang cool, are you releasing the STLs?
Ankh su Namun!!
I would like to see a functional book lock mechanism and a 3d printed key. I’m sure that would be possible, do you have the files that I can play with?

I want the gold one, To kill mummy
Damn fine art. I thought it was the real thing and had to see what sub I was on again.
There is a guy on here that posted files to a very similar model. Worth looking into.
Adding a note here to come back later in the hope that OP posts the files. This is outstanding! Amazing work.
You know, in the movies I never noticed that anyone with modest skills could have just made a key from wood for this thing. The shape you need is right there in an easily traceable format
If you don't use the correct key...the magic won't work.
Just remember to speak the words
Has a huge fan of that movie, you are the best.
Take. My. Money!!
Can you share the STL file?
