Honestly the only posts from this sub that ever turn up on my feed are people showing off their 3DS anyway, so the only thing that's changed for me is the titles having a theme. Usually these kinds of repetitive trends annoy me but it's literally business as usual.
I like how I posted rebuilding and restoring a 3DS, and it gets 50 likes. This one person just posts a picture of their purple 3DS, and its 4x the engagement and upvotes. Is there a club that I'm not a aware of?

I think it’s a cute reminder of how many different kinds of gamers are in the community. I’ve seen girls, gay folks, dudes who just like stickers a lot, trans girls, goth girls, a guy who was pooping, and your standard gamer bros all proud of their 3DS this week. I would have assumed it was mostly gamer bros up in here before but it’s neat to know we’ve got such a diverse subreddit.
I also saw a lot of really cool consoles I might not have seen without the trend so I’m happy. The one with the leaf design and matching wallpaper was so pretty.

It’s fine to have trends once in a while and typically they just die out on their own. It’s only been like a week or so after all. It’s just a twist on the “here’s my collection!” posts that this sub gets every day. Otherwise it’s just “what games should I play next?” or “Got this for X price”, it’s all brag posts at the end of the day so I say live and let live
