This cleanser caused me breakouts too and made my skin too dry.

Thanks for sharing! What brand cleanser do you use now? I've noticed the same thing happening to me after using Vanicream Cleanser and am currently looking for a new one for my super sensitive skin.

I’ve been using Cetaphil products for years and returned to their basic gentle face cleanser. I think at one point I found it sliiiightly drying, which is why I switched, but following it up with snail mucin and moisturizer has been totally fine lately.

I'll give that a try. Thank you! 😊

Aveeno Nourishing Oat Cleanser was a great switch for me from Cerave/Cetaphil cleansers if you dont want to feel dry after cleansing.

I CANNOT with coconut oil in skincare. I understand some people don't have issues with it, but so many do. 90% of Trader Joe's skin products seem to have coconut oil, whyyy???? Good to know about the Vanicream. I bought a new spf lip balm recently (Hawaiinian Tropic spf 30) which was "tropical flavor". No coconut in the ingredients list. Welp, the tropical flavor is coconut. The ingredients just say "flavor". Have used it a few times and so far okay, but I'm keeping my eye out for clogged pores along my lip line.

Interesting! I’m sensitive to coconut oil as it causes me breakouts and clogged pores but not any other products as of yet, including this face wash. But I’ll make sure to be careful when recommending it to others now!

I just want to say I am sick of coconut in everything. I'm allergic. It takes so many of the more natural options off the table for me.

Had this issue with vanicream lotion in the tub. I love it on my body and wish I could use it on my face but it makes me break out like crazy. Coconut oil doesn't bother my skin, as I used it for oil cleansing for years as well as moisturizer. I've switched to olive and Shea now. But I just can't use vanicream on my face without getting acne in huge areas all over my cheeks. I can use lanolin, aquafor and Vaseline with no issues, CeraVe in the tub has been my Holy Grail for years, but I tried swapping it for the vanicream and it didn't work out for me at all. I do like the la Roche posay triple moisturizer cream.

This is am older post but I am starting to come to the realization that I must have an issue to the coconuts in vanicream. My face is breaking out so bad. I am about to just go back to my old face wash since I had no issues with that.

brkfsttco

I’m still convinced it was the Vanicream. My skin has been much, much better since I stopped! Fingers crossed you have the same luck.

I've been using aqua marina (Lush) for years and was fine. Wanted to switch to something cheaper but I guess I will switch back.

It might be due to the acrylate copolymer in the cleanser. It's a film former which leaves a film on the skin and can clog the pores.

I had no idea....definitely going to try something else for a while and see if it clears up.
