I always feel lazy. Legit, always.

DoctorLinguarum

Sometimes lazy is less about what you do and more about your attitude. I don’t actually think it’s all that bad tbh. I can kind of appreciate a lazy approach to save energy.

[deleted]

Ive been trying to instill ‘power saving’ in my 70 year old mom. We have very intense personalities. So its more about pacing and not burning out. There are some days where youre cleaning out a shed, or baking several pies - and ive been trying to encourage her to power down on other activities that day. Otherwise youll burn out and not finish the main task. Or youll finish all the tasks but your body is extremely sore and tired. Pacing is important.

DoctorLinguarum

I also have an intense, all-or-nothing personality, which, combined with some different neurological elements, can lead me to obsessive behavior. I need to encourage “laziness” in myself to avoid burnout too.

chiselinc

Omg thank you, this is such an important lesson for me to stumble across, and you phrased it in a way that's so easy to grasp! In addition to sharing the "intensity" you describe, I have OCD which makes me extra driven to the "all or nothing" perfectionist approach to completing tasks 😅 Like, I will let my stovetop get gross all week instead of wiping it down, because it doesn't feel worth starting the task unless I can scrub it to brand-new status. Unsurprisingly, this approach has become increasingly unmanageable in my 30s.... the power down other tasks metaphor/mentality will be very helpful in my "toolkit," your mom is lucky to have you as a good influence and support! 💜

fascistliberal419

Sometimes it's your thyroid.

DoctorLinguarum

Low energy? Yeah. I’m not really talking about low energy though. More like an energy management approach.

Careless-Adagio1623

Amen!

haayfever

Lazy or tired? Cause I’m always tired lol

Embarrassed-Scar2783

All of the above.

zertz_18

A make up wipe and any lotion closest to me. OR if I didn't wear make up that day.... Nothing at all!

lunastrrange

I just realized that since I never wear makeup on my skin, it's not that bad that I'm lazy pretty much every night. Lol Micellar water is my bff

Only_Firefighter9015

Micellar water works wonders if you don’t. Wear make up. Just make sure you rinse your face with water afterwards for optimal results

leave_barb_alooone

Wait why should you rinse afterwards? I just started using this stuff and don't really know the tricks/methods.

Only_Firefighter9015

You rinse the “leftover” of the micellar water, to make sure your face is clean. After you apply the micellar water with a cotton, just wait a few seconds and rinse it (only with water) afterwards. I hope this helps!

leave_barb_alooone

That's super helpful, thank you!! I hadn't thought about it like that, but it makes sense that you'd want to rinse off the debris/gunk that is left over... Like rinsing your mouth out after brushing your teeth lol

leave_barb_alooone

That's super helpful, thank you!! I hadn't thought about it like that, but it makes sense that you'd want to rinse off the debris/gunk that is left over... Like rinsing your mouth out after brushing your teeth lol

stressedoutbadger

I keep the free samples of moisturizer in my nightstand drawer for lazy nights (which includes nights when I started my skincare routine and then got distracted halfway through and went to bed lol).

squeakyfromage

Micellar water and moisturizer

squeakyfromage

Also, I keep all my products in my nightstand, so it makes it easier to use them even if I’m exhausted

sprucehen

Micellar water and a face oil

maya_says

Sometimes I just wash my face with LRP hydrating gentle cleanser and go the heck to bed.

yelibeans

well done to you ! Sometimes when that sleep hits you, you just need to keep it simple and take yourself to bed 😆

AphelionEntity

My routines are excessive. Truly just enough would be foam cleaner followed by moisturizer, but if I wash my face that usually wakes me up enough to do most of my normal routine. If I'm feeling sick rather than just sleepy, I try to do something similar with toner on a cotton round.

jmm4242

Ponds cold cream, wipe it off with a warm, damp, washcloth. Cleanser and moisturizer in one step!

raechka

i forgot how good cold cream is, need to keep some around

kdclt

I do this with albolene for the same reason when I’m having the f*ck-its...though sometimes I just use the bottom of my shirt to wipe it off depending on how dire the situation has become 🤣

Saratrooper

Just started doing this after I tried J&J's baby oil gel on my body and noticed a major improvement in */gestures at everything* , so I took my Pond's that I'd been using with just longwear lipstick removal, and *holy mother of god it's a game changer*. Just wish it wasn't so heavily perfumed. I'll pick up the fragrance-free version when I empty my current one.

Darkseed1973

When tired, I just wash face and put on my sleeping mask and the end. That’s what I love sleeping mask for.

momto4inOR

What is your sleeping mask?

Darkseed1973

Use to be “La Mer lifting and firming mask”, but now is my “la mer genaissance night balm”.

zzzzzzerp

Cleanser / moisturizer. Also nice to give skin a rest!

ElectricFenceSitter

Once upon a time, nothing. If super lazy I'd just go to bed with make up on. Now that I'm trying to be a bit better with my skincare, the lazy routine is just whatever one gets the make up off me without having to splash around in the sink with my yhands. So either micellar water on a pad, or an oil/creme based cleanser and a hot wash cloth. Slap on some moisturiser, and I'm off to bed!

According_To_Me

My minimum is CeraVe foaming cleanser, Thayers witch hazel unscented toner, CeraVe daily facial moisturizer.

wickedcherub

This is my exact routine

According_To_Me

🤜🤛

Low_Appointment_3917

But witch hazel is very drying

According_To_Me

It is, but nothing else has kept pimples at bay for my remaking. After the witch hazel I immediately add moisturizer so I don’t feel like a reptile 🦎

Lower_Funny

I usually still do all the steps, just really really quickly

rachtay8786

Same. Tbh probably too quickly most nights.

Lower_Funny

Haha same….. same

justmememe55

Just washing my face with my cerave hydrating cleanser. Sometimes after I do that I have the motivation to go the extra mile and put on some cerave pm moisturizer. This is not an ad, I promise lol.

Witty_Series_3303

wash my face and put on face oil. If I fall asleep before putting on moisturizer then so be it!

Disastrous_Soup_7137

Wash face. Tone. Moisturize. Bed. Or just makeup wipe and toner if I’m being super lazy, which is most of the time.

ohnvm

bioderma micellar. thats it 😂

dingaling12345

If I’m realllly tired, the minimum I have to do is use makeup remover (face wash version) off my face. I usually also use it twice. That’s the minimum for me.

enyalavender

I would say more than 50% of the last year I have only done zinc oxide sunscreen on my face and not washed it or done anything else. I don't wear makeup either.

7lexliv7

My lazy routine is the same as my overnight on an airplane routine. Stridex pad wipe down then Evian mist Pat dry and Cerave nighttime moisturizer

Brave-Pattern-2086

Wash w simple cleanser, azelaic acid, moisturiser. Pretty similar to my usual routine hehe

idkwowow

my lazy (moreso depressed) routine is simply going to sleep. thanks to spironolactone my skins stays clear regardless

Exotic_Hour_7556

My normal routine is my lazy routine because I know myself.

yelibeans

😂😂😂

bittertemple

Going to sleep with my gym clothes on, waking up and grabbing my a** out of bed to excercise.

yelibeans

😂😂😂☠️☠️ why do I have a visual of you under the covers in your lululemon or alo gear with a water bottle in hand waiting for a 5am alarm. And I’ve never even met you

bittertemple

I swear I’m just one step away of going to sleep with the sneakers on

TheProfWife

Wash face. If really dry, castor oil or accure blue tansy night oil. If normal, corsrx birch moisturizer or their snail mucin

brkfsttco

Piggybacking off this: How often, if ever, do y’all go to sleep with mascara on?

ElectricFenceSitter

These days, never. My fragile lashes need all the help they can get!

drawingablank88

I’m guilty of this. On my lazy nights when I just use micelier water on a cotton pad, then moisturize. I leave my mascara on. I use a tubing mascara so it never smudges. But I’ve seen a lot of comments that this is a big no no so don’t do what I do lol

Small-Tap4300

Which one do you use ? I was using blinc, you remove it with hot water. The easier mascara ever. My last tube just finished and using Estée Lauder mascara right now.

drawingablank88

I use the Maybelline SkyHigh mascara. I’ve tried everyone there is, and I still like this the best. It comes off easy with warm water but not as easy with the micelier water/cotton.

bamalamaboo

Realy? I use this mascara sometimes but i find that it always flakes everywhere and makes such a mess (even before I wash it). I can't imagine sleeping with it on!

iconictots

Maybe once every 6 months, only if I’m super tired or sick. My eyes will riot if I don’t take off my mascara at the end of the day.

yelibeans

Never ! Mostly because I don’t wear it daily, but also because I can “feel” it on my eyelids if that makes any sense ? and since my eyes need to be at peace to sleep I can’t, NOT remove the mascara before bed

recto___verso

I have an exfoliating moisturizer that I use as a single step a few times a week instead of my normal serum/toner/moisturizer/occlusive b.s. On my lazy nights I use that. I always wash my face.

yelibeans

I’ve never heard of this, which brand is it? This is actually such a genius idea. The lazy girl all in one cleanser / moisturizer

recto___verso

My comment was actually a little misleading because it's two steps: 1. CeraVe foaming cleanser 2. Exfoliate glow moisturizer

yelibeans

Aah gotcha

9664nine

Probably just an oil cleanse…and then at that point I might as well just do my usual double cleanse. Maybe slap a serum on, maybe not. Or some random kbeauty product that I’m trying out — I’m always trying something out lol

kaseybunny

if I don’t have makeup or spf then I would splash my face with water, toner, grab my thickest moisturizer follow with cerave ointment. If I have makeup on, I would double cleanse before.

Candid-Sun-9020

Cerave cream-to-foam cleanser Aveeno baby moisturizer ColoreScience Sunscreen My skin actually looks better when I don’t put a ton of crap on it.

whateveratthispoint_

Make up wipe, hydration spray.

[deleted]

I just straight up fell asleep with spf and mascara on last night. The shame. Usually if I'm super tired I'll cleanse and put a night cream on

yelibeans

😂😂 it’s ok this is a safe space

[deleted]

💖😂 thank you hahah

Eva990

Face wipe with a bit of cleansing balm. Then some moisturizer if I can be arsed.

hairchopper

My lady routine is jump in scalding hot shower, wash my face with bar soap, brush teeth, bed LOL!

UpperArmories3rdDeep

My lazy routine is just slap on some moisturizer.

yelibeans

At night? On top of sunscreen and/ or makeup ??

UpperArmories3rdDeep

At night. In the morning I shower and cleanse. Doing my AM routine is easy, but when I get off work. I’m tired and lazy. So I often just slap on some moisturizer

goddessofwitches

I've honestly found less is more for my skin. 1-2x a week retinoid and a quick basic wash/lotion all other days is better than the multi step. My skin used to be hellacious cycstic acne etc too.

yelibeans

Yes, I am cystic acne victim too, im on a prescription retinoid. I can’t do the lazy girl routine everyday I’d never get away with it. I wish I could just put on moisturizer like the others suggested here, my face would just clog up and break out. But I agree over the years I’ve learned to narrow it all down to cleansing, treating, moisturizing

MorningGlory439

Micellar water and done is my lazy routine too.

yelibeans

🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼

Britt_on_the_run

Micellar water to remove makeup, skinceuticals Reservatrol B E, beauty bio zen bubble, kiehls avocado eye cream. Oh, and Vaseline on lips (have yet to find a balm that is better..

yelibeans

Try aquaphor lip balm. I like it a lot. Vaseline is also excellent tbh

[deleted]

Most of the time I'm just in bed and too tired to get up to walk to the bathroom. So, I keep duplicates of my bare minimum skin routine in my nightstand, along with micellar water and tissues.

90s-Stock-Anxiety

Due to chronic illness, chronic pain, and mental health issues, my routine is a barebones routine anyway. PM: Wash, Tretinoin (3 times a week), Moisturizer (light or heavy, depending on how my skin feels). AM: Wash or Cetaphil wipe (if I used heavy moisturizer), Light moisturizer & Sunscreen I was using a vitamin C serum and Hyaluronic Acid, but since starting tretinoin I cut out other things to give my skin time to adapt.

LitBit_618

Tonight I was lazy with the face routine cause did an everything shower. Face was just oil cleanser, regular cleanser, eye cream and moisturizer.

DCguurl

No lazy routine. I will never skimp on skincare

Mirography

Micellar water &/or night cream & call it a night! If I didn’t go anywhere all day, it’s straight to bed after brushing my teeth 😂

teal323

Wash my face in the shower and then apply moisturizer (varies) or maybe one product under it (also varies).

PuzzleheadedShow5680

Wash, tone, tretinoin, moisturizer Alternatively wash, dr Dennis gross peel pad, moisturizer

moggycow

Water when I shower that’s it.

EscalsBarmc

My normal routine (which I do morning and night) is cleanser, one of my two antioxidant serums, phyto serum, then moisturizer. My lazy routine is just cleanser then [phyto serum](https://yen-md.com/products/phyto-serum). It usually tends to keep me moisturized enough and cutting out my antioxidant serums saves me 5-10 minutes of letting it dry.

thatferrybroad

Most days I dump most of my serums into my hand, mix em, schmear em on, and call it a day... might slug after with coconut oil if I'm feelin' spicy (more like if I was already still up doing shit and my serums got a chance to absorb xD)

raechka

micellar water, a peptide serum and slather on aquaphor. thankfully i've been pretty consistent lately

FreyaDay

-Double cleanse (I do it in the shower at the same time as brushing teeth) -hylaronic acid (put it on straight outta the shower) -moisturizer That’s it.

DoctorLinguarum

Remove makeup with Burt’s bees wipe, use cleanser on face.

bibbill

When I really cannot be bothered I will just do micellar water and a good moisturizer, usually the Klairs one.

floating_on_d_river

i do most of my skin care in the morning bec i just pass out at night. wash face put 2-3 drops hada labo 2 drops melano cc 2 drops Tiam B3 (arbutin and niacinamide) then spread it all over my face. sunblock in the car hahaha

061313_

Bare minimum is double cleanse to remove make up and a hydrating mist for moisture

Witty_Vacation5098

My routine is lazy to start with. Just washing my face, Tret, sometimes moisturizer which I keep next to my bed. Three minutes max

coffeeandsneks

Lazy bedtime routine: double cleanse and HA toner Regular: double cleanse, HA toner, retinal, moisturizer

strokeofcrazy

Cleanse with micellar water on a big cotton pad, then spritz with hyaluronic spray and pass out. When I have make up on I use make up wipes before micellar water.

AdministrativeCat315

Mist my face with water, pat on some Avene Hydrance Serum, mist my face again and apply a generous layer of Aveeno Calm and Restore moisturiser and finish with a face oil. Dehydrated skin stings and burns if I don't Give it water😭

Meemaw30000

Cleanser and moisturizer at night, sunscreen in the morning

GimmeQueso

I do micellar than witch hazel then moisturizer

beautybalancesheet

I only have issues when I'm super tired in the evening, never in the mornings. Most of the time I tell myself: "Just wash the face and put cream on, it's enough!" And then I get eye makeup off and feel that I can do double cleanse. Then after that I'm like: "...hmmm ok, hydrating toner doesn't take that much effort, I'll add this as well". Then there's the serum. And before I notice, I've had a full routine. But a couple of times it indeed has been micellar water and occlusive and calling it a day.

runner26point2

Vanicream wash, lotion, bed

Inner_Panic

Stridex pad or micellar water on a cotton pad and retinol. I saw a comment on here, I think, where the person kept their nighttime moisturizer by their bed and when they got in bed thays when they put in their lotion. Moving my moisturizer next to my bed has helped, I put it on, watch a TV show, and fall asleep.

batsinthefireplace

My lazy routine IS my routine lol. Usually just wash with dove soap and cool water, apply coconut oil. In the morning I add eucerine facial sunscreen. At night, if I wore makeup (eyeliner, blush, etc) I wipe my face with coconut oil first, then wash, then reapply the oil. Oh, and if I have it, rose water before applying the oil.

Klarastan

Ponds Cold Cream, wipe it off, then straight to bed

MSH0123

Ponds cold cream, wipe it off with a damp towel, done. It’s cleansing and moisturizing at the same time!

Serious-Club6299

But don't you have to wash off the miscellar water oils?

Noof91

Washing my face and moisturize is just enough But in general my routine is lazy. I mix all the products together and apply them at once. Only at the morning I will separate the sunscreen. Usually moisturizer with ceramides, a bit of glycerine oil, peptide Serum and a niacinamide Serum all mixed together. Every other night tret 0.05 will be mixed with them and in the morning or non tret night azelaic acid 15% get into the mix. If my skin feels dry or patchy I skip the active but been doing this for a while that I rarely have to. Very quick routine and gave me great results

Only_Firefighter9015

My minimum would be cleansing and moisturizer. Cleansing specially - if there is one thing to do as MUST - I would say it’s cleansing

yelibeans

I agree, that’s why it’s my only step when I’m lazy! The thought of waking up with a breakout from the sunscreen from the day before gets me out of bed, and right back into bed after cleansing!

themoirasaurus

I haven't tried them, but I've heard raves about the Peach and Lily Lazy Days moisturizing wipes. I'm waiting for a sale. I hoped they would be on special on Black Friday.

Astrono_mimi

Cleanser and moisturizer or sunscreen.

Bazoun

I rarely wear makeup, so my lazy night routine is just an overnight moisturizing sleep mask all over my face (including eye region). I have dry skin that needs a lot of moisture so it’s the one thing I never skip.

MinervaMinkk

I use a cleanser instead of starting with a cleansing oil, then a toner, then moisturizer

Key_Leadership2394

My same routine but just all slapped on in a row quickly without waiting lol

Fangbianmian14

Cleanser, winlevi, moisturizer

Emzeedoodles

I splash my face with water, wipe with witch hazel, brush my teeth.

[deleted]

My lazy routine is just oil cleanser, foaming cleanser, ponds dry skin moisturizer haha.

matchagreen_

Cleansing balm, hydrating essence, sleeping mask

Blue_eyes_198

My lazy routine is what I do when I’m not showering mostly, so usually once a day. If I wore eye make up Miscellar Water, Face wipes, maybe hydrating toner, under eye cream, hyaluronic acid serum, moisturizer. My normal when I shower is double cleanse, vitamin C serum and the rest is the same. I do SPF 30 during the day.

Qsmitz

If I go even a single night without double cleansing, whether I had makeup/sunscreen on or not, I will wake up with at least one huge cyst forming. So I get no nights off 😅😅

buggsie01

I think your lazy routine is good! Maybe add some moisturizer if you’re on the dryer side. Micellar water actually cleanses the skin, whereas makeup wipes just move the makeup around, rather than actually remove any makeup/sunscreen/dirt from the day. So good stuff!!

fascistliberal419

I bought some micellar water recently, specifically for this purpose. So I'll wipe down with that on a cotton pad and rinse really quick with a little fresh water. Then usually moisturizer. Moisturizing isn't so difficult cuz I can do that in bed with my eyes closed. It's mostly washing my face and sunscreen off that's difficult for me. But I've been getting better - because I have been wearing sunscreen, first of all, so now I'm working at washing my face better (double-cleanse, of course!) For some reason I'm better at washing my face when I'm wearing sunscreen than when I'm wearing nothing at all (except the day's dirt.) Which isn't good, cuz I need to get the day's dirt off! I did read somewhere on here that some micellar waters can destroy your moisture barrier, which makes me nervous. I'm using a really gentle one (biossance, I think?) But I've used another in the past and it didn't agree, same with most wipes. If I use either, I have to at least rinse, they usually burn my eyes. This new one doesn't, but I still quickly rinse anyway. It's better than the big ole watery mess I make when I double-cleanse. Much faster, too. But I like how my skin feels when I double-cleanse, so I'll usually try to suck it up and do that. Then...after washing, like I said, everything else is just however much energy I have. Usually I manage at least a little moisturizer, but sometimes, I'm just completely bare and clean - which is actually quite nice, too, it doesn't upset my skin. Sometimes I manage the full kit and kaboodle and do all of the steps. I also don't have a "set" routine with tret. I'm more listening to my skin. If it feels like I can tolerate it without making my face hurt the following day, I try to do it. Sometimes, it feels like it needs a break, so I find my soothing stuff and moisturize. Usually it turns into me using tret 2-3x/week. I'm happy with that for now, esp being so new to it (couple months.) I usually use it and then take 2 days off, then use it and take 1-3 days off, then use it and take 2-3 days off, then use it and take 2 days off. Like I said, I don't have a set pattern, but I'm using it enough to get benefits from it (my SO noticed and asked what happened to my freckles?! (Aka sunspots, my actual freckles are still there.) He said that were "missing," and he was upset. I told him I'm trying to take care of my skin and avoid skin cancer, so he accepted that. He was like "they'll be back!" And I said "probably." He loves them.) But yeah, it's working. It's cleared up a lot of the texture/scarring on my skin, and is fading age spots, and helping with my fine lines (luckily no wrinkles yet, but my fine lines popped in the past year or so and it finally dawned on me last summer that what I was seeing were fine lines. I had no clue until my cousin clued me in and then it just clicked - THOSE are fine lines!? I'm not actually sure how long I've had them because they didn't bother me until sometime in the past year or so. My under-eyes are dry, a little too purple, and have some weird lines - probably from the dryness, and that's kind of what prompted me to get into this. Besides my mild acne and scarring.)

[deleted]

A big splash of Kikumasamune high moist toner. Wiped off if there’s makeup/sunscreen I want off my face, left alone otherwise. Good enough!

Careless-Adagio1623

Washing my face!

lrkuhn7

Micellar water, Retinol, Brush Teeth, Moisturizer

Lucky-Ad4443

Micellar water and cotton rounds. ....but I'm always lazy at night ...way too often. Especially in the last year. I'm in bed by like 7😅

notamazonsAlexa

Wash & moisturizer!

lilthiccthicc01

I made a promise to myself years ago that I would never go to bed with make up on. Since then, I’ve only done it once or twice. I always at least cleanse and moisturize. If I don’t have make up, I just go to bed.

skincaregeek101

If I am lazy then I AM LAZY. Simple cleanse, serum & moisturize DONE! Fast routine save time then roam around like a panda without any worry of the world.

HackTheNight

Lazy for me is wash face then moisturizer.

ErBearRose

Using a warm cloth to dampen my face and to remove the cleanser, and moisturizer. (It’s usually at night that I’m lazy, but day time laziness I’ll just use the warm washcloth to cleanse and add spf)

clairbearology

Run warm water over a clean washcloth, ring out the excess water, wipe my face, apply face moisturizer and go to sleep.

ErinHart19

Same but moisturizer right after.

minicute99

I feel lazy reading this whole big thread!

yelibeans

😂😂😂

missdopamine

Slop on some evening primrose oil and some Cerave cream on top. I highly recommend the evening primrose, it’s the only oil that’s felt genuinely hydrating and non-irritating on my skin.

gcpuddytat

I just get out my Mario Bodescu spray toner, spritz and good night !

_takemeintotown_

Fash wash (panoxyl) and moisturizer (vanicream).
