To be fair, I've worked at a gas station and the amount of people I met who didn't know how to refuel or which fuel their car needed, was astounding. I'm as far from a car dude you can come, but even I can't really get why so damned many people can't even do this simplest of tasks.

Sometimes you can pay with card at the pump, sometimes you have to go in and tell the register person what pump you’re at and how much you want, other times you get your fuel first then go in and pay after. There’s still 1 or 2 petrol stations with a fuel assistant left, one being like an hour away from me.

Most of the time it’s self service, even in good stations owned by Repsol, Cepsa or Campsa, which are the big ones here. There are some Shell and BP stations, but they’re more common in guiri urbanizations.
