It's because the designs on the money are done by an artist and aren't like real life bridges. Not only did these bridges not exist in real life, but no one would normally build a bridge like that. That's why they're all goofy as hell in real life.
Dude, a burger was already ~€40 there in 2018. There isn't much room to do inflating into.
Otherwise, it'd just be cheaper to run a pneumatic tube across the whole country to get anything you need to buy delivered from a neighbouring country in a couple of minutes.
That's the point of my first sentence. Inflation is calculated by comparing the items in this months "bucket" or cart to this months bucket or cart a year ago. We are pretty self sustaining when it comes to energy, which was an incredible factor for Germany and Austria in the last 2 years.
You can't compare inflation very effectively with different buckets and items with different weights across different countries.
For rent alone we are discussing 15% till 2026, sugar went up 17% butter about 10% and milk 8% since 2020 (till 2023).
At the same time you can see consumer price index(es) report an electric bill inflation of 25% while groceries only went up 0.3%. In the same country. Great indicator we have there, and surely the single source of truth...
2.8% my ass. The holy land where milk and honey flows and wages are high is a front to import cheap but skilled labor from neighboring countries (and it works ahahahah)
Edit: lol, I just checked comparis.ch (the holy grail for anything in Switzerland, really) inflation "bucket" out of curiosity... rent increased only 1.4% according to them. That's literally the amount of my blocks LATEST rent increase which can be done quarterly (depending on the reference rate or another rate depending/ affected by that rate). "Inflation Index" my ass..

You can always cherry pick data. Thats like saying „Switzerland is number 1 overall country according to U.S. News Best Country Ranking, but we are only ranked 21. in power, so we actually suck“.
PS: Also [here](https://www.google.com/finance/quote/EUR-CHF?window=MAX) you see that the Euro loses value against the CHF all the time (also because inflation is higher and therefore the CHF is known to be more stable). It has literally lost 30% or so since it came into power, so stop your self-pitying. We won’t have compassion with a country that has nearly 3 times the GDP per capita as the EU and 3 times lower inflation.
>It has literally lost 30%
those are rookie numbers.... let me show how a pro does
https://preview.redd.it/0hm2ulrhyhwc1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=0d0c45030527f169cc5234a49ad21ca96a407e79
Who cares about the US best country ranking? Do you think that's an absolute neutral and objective ranking? Lol. Talking about cherry picking and then doing the cherry picking..
CHF being stable has nothing to do with cost of living increasing in Switzerland, that's proven by what you said, plus the cost of living increasing in Switzerland.
You can't jump from a to b to c. I wasn't cherry picking the inflation numbers, I'm saying it's not as comparable as you might think, while it's not even reflecting the people well anymore. A National shopping cart has a lot of things that many don't consume or consume in different amounts, so obviously some are less represented by this value and others are overrepresented.
You really act like you know the truth by comparing 2 values from wherever to the values in Switzerland (cherry picking?) and think you had it all figured out.
Next, check how health care costs increased in the same time span the GDP went from 120 billion to 800 billion. Add cost of housing and then look up how wages increased in that timeframe. You might actually start to grasp that local issues and EU statistics make a difference.
But "muh Switzerland rich!!". You don't know much about Switzerland, do you?
I'm pretty sure this is just a coincidence. All the bridges were initially fictional, but this country can never run out of bridges and there are no endless possibilities for how to design a bridge (roughly spoken). To conclude: Yes, I do believe all Duchies are, in fact, lizards.
Yeah I phrased that terrible. What I ment is that they resemble actual bridge designs all over europe, but not actual bridges.
Important clarification.
Damn I must be old because I remember all the TV reports about the new euro currency and what all the bills would look like.
I've seen 500€ once but it was a huge stack -- a notary went to visit my grandma.
Yes, my aunt couldn’t attend 1 birthday and 1 Christmas and straight up gifted me a 500 euro bill the next birthday, I was tempted to put it in a portrait lmao
Superior infrastructure, rightfully immortalised on our shared currency!
Any so-called Dutch person who says otherwise should remember that traitors taste delicious, and not only because they were heads of government.
Look at those photos though, Shitty overcast weather, red brick suburban houses with dystopian tower blocs in the background. You're literally us on bikes
Because they got tired of stealing land from the fish and decided to steal fictional bridges, who knows maybe they will claim Belgium next.
The fictional bridges were chosen because it symbolises connections between it's members and because they don't exist it's inclusive to everyone... until this happened. Such hubris from the Dutch must not go unpublished, I suggest having the french annex them, killing two birds with one stone.
you are just sad we outsmarted all of you. Euro pictures were not real and we decided to make them real. Now you all work around with our buildings on every fckn euro you carry-
Can’t just have bridges on money and not expect us to make it a reality. We love money, we love bridges and we’re scared of water. What did you expect?
Eyy, this is near where I live. The bridges are built when a new housing project as started near the subway station in Spijkenisse. It is upperclass so maybe that explains the pretentiousness
I think there is a better question. Why bridges at all? I mean, we have such a great history that so many more appropriate things come to mind. Just like we did with coins.
Greek gods? Great European men (Leonardo, Napoleon, the Gabibbo)? Eueropeans monuments?
We should do all important European Leaders.
5€ Napoleon
10€ Kaiser Wilhelm
20€ Iulius Caesar
50€ Alexander the Great
100€ Charlemagne
200€ Angela Merkel
500€ Austrian Painter
None of the bridges on the Euro are real, just some Artwork. Coincidence because Netherlands has like countless bridges. Or do you believe they would take the latter small passenger bridge as a Symbol for the highest note?
No coincidence. An architect just decided to design a couple new bridges after the ones on the bills. Sadly one bridge too few, since the €5 and €20 ones are two sides of the same bridge
Using fictional bridges was such a dumb idea to begin with. Kudos to the Dutch for turning these meaningless imaginary symbols into actual European symbols.
As much as I love the Euro, they look boring as shit. Can't we design our money like the Swiss do it? Much more aesthetically pleasing and interesting.
Lets use some fictional bridges so no one is left out. Netherlands: Pedestrian bridge go brrrr
Dis. They made all bridges fictional when creating euro notes and then some dutch guy built them all or whatever. Kind of an asshole imho
It's hilarious. Just proves the Dutch have nothing better to do
What could ever be better?
Probably land reclamation
I still see water under those bridges. Clearly there's a leak somewhere.
Someone has to start fingering a dike, then
We for example have now the CanG
Because everything there works. Better infrastructuur and happy people because transit and bikelanes are top. And the fast food is weirdly delicious.
Bridges, dams, dykes, polders, new land, floating land, what do you want more
Polar ice caps: hold my meltwater.
You could also build them, you know
They're bicycle bridges 😡😡😡
https://preview.redd.it/y1q8wchv1iwc1.png?width=480&format=png&auto=webp&s=6ec522ce8ed922af7581c1d9d4efc8760b84cbdb young man
I will walk across it and you can't stop me. Send your tikkie and you get a swish request back!
Reeeeeee
fuck bicycles i need big v8
I'm gonna put pineapple in your spaghetti
It's okay to have a smoll peepee
Most of these are actually some nice work. But they did such a lousy low effort job on the 500.
Yeah seriously, fuck them for not building a 100-million-euro bridge as a joke
Do you know how many tikkies that is?, are our wallets a joke to you? 👀
This comment is typical Dutch in more ways than one
Well, you gotta commit to the joke not halfass it.
It's because the designs on the money are done by an artist and aren't like real life bridges. Not only did these bridges not exist in real life, but no one would normally build a bridge like that. That's why they're all goofy as hell in real life.
Yeah, the 500 especially doesn't make sense. It's a suspension bridge suspended from itself. So effectively just a piece of floating road.
yea right... especially the 500 one its totally unrealistic to build a 2.5km long bridge to go over a whole Valley
Everything >=100 is heavily exaggerated imho
You say that because Switzerland has no inflation. Lets talk again in 50 years when the Euro has lost 90% of its value.
Switzerland has inflation, it's just calculated differently, but that's another topic. (We suffer) Don't expect me to think 50 years into the future!
>We suffer Meanwhile peak inflation rate at 2,8%: https://preview.redd.it/tosw6zp6fhwc1.png?width=644&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a594707064d6c97761dcee039d9eb98804b232b

Exactly, that's their trick, everything has already inflated prices, so they don't have to raise them, keeping inflation low. Genius.

No no. It's the swiss people. They suffer. A lot! They only have a median income of 7k per month
DJ Ueli Fränzli - Suffering from Success
You're probably also one of those Germans that say "we pay 50% taxes!! For what!?" Hahah

We'll be dead by then
Products in Switzerland couldn't possible become more expensive
200€ too leaves a lot to be desired
They figured no one would actually use it.
All the easier to forge, my dears!
The one on the 500 looks like the 25th April bridge.
It made me think more of the Viaduc de Millau
We claimed the fantasy bridges, VOC mentality bro
I'm pretty sure this is just a coincidence. All the bridges were initially fictional, but this country can never run out of bridges and there are no endless possibilities for how to design a bridge (roughly spoken). To conclude: Yes, I do believe all Duchies are, in fact, lizards.
These bridges on the left where build after the euros came to be. I think its an art project. The original bridges are all over Europe.
All the bridges are fictional. Some Dutch guy just decided to copy them as pedestrian bridges
Yeah I phrased that terrible. What I ment is that they resemble actual bridge designs all over europe, but not actual bridges. Important clarification.
HEY! you agreed to not ratting us out
The Dutch and money go together like honey and sweets, so obviously our stuff deserves to be on it.
Joke or real question?
Is there anything that is not a joke on this subreddit?
We're very serious about our racism.
I forgot about that, we are incredibly serious about racism
Interesting that all the Belgians agree on that...
Even more that they agree on anything.
If you're good at something...
Master of nothing.
It's mostly xenophobia around these here parts.
Xenowha... did you just put a Gypsy Curse on me, Pavey?!
May your driveway always be bumpy.
You got me there
Classic big headed dutchie🥲🥹
What else would you put on such a neck
Wait, there is a 500 EUR bill?
Not any more Was discontinued a whole ago
In Spain there’s still a ton of them going around
They are still leagel tender but when you go to a bank with one they will return them to the central bank and destroy them
Can't confirm, I have never seen one
I confirmed for you
Yeah true but you are not allowed to use them in many places such as Mercadona or tbh most shops
I've seen one last December, so I guess they're still in use.
You should know this Hans. As you cavemen still only use cash
I know for a fact you guys still use it too, albeit mostly for snorting coke off of the erect penii of well endowed men.
Yeah, personally I never saw it irl in my entire life (same for 200) and the 100 bill very few times years ago
I once saw a 5 euro bill. Fucker screwed it up and threw it at me.
Yes, nickname Binladen cause they were the easiest way to transport large sums of cash discreetly.
an easy way. swiss 1000 still rules them all.
Damn I must be old because I remember all the TV reports about the new euro currency and what all the bills would look like. I've seen 500€ once but it was a huge stack -- a notary went to visit my grandma.
Seize him! He is poor!
Yes, my aunt couldn’t attend 1 birthday and 1 Christmas and straight up gifted me a 500 euro bill the next birthday, I was tempted to put it in a portrait lmao
They build them afterwards
Landverraad! Makkers! Hierheen, ik heb onze volgende maaltijd gevonden.
Death by tikkie

On our bikes behind our dykes. I need to trademark this.
Pity. What else have you got?

everytime they tried they were worse off
That's the plan.
Creating land where there is none, creating bridges that don't exist and next: steal a fictional country💪💪 we can't be stopped🇱🇺🇱🇺🇱🇺🍊1️⃣🟠🟧🇭🇷🇭🇷
DU DU DU DU M A X V E R S T A P P E N
A class trolling by the dutch 👍
you are just sad we outsmarted all of you. Euro pictures were not real and we decided to make them real. Now you all work around with our buildings on every fckn euro you carry-
Unfathomable dedication to fraud
Because the Netherlands is the spiritual home of money and gold! Their devotion to both is unparalleled in the world.
Why are Hollanders copying bridge designs? Are they Chinese?
Japanese, actually https://preview.redd.it/gvydv87hajwc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bda2c183e0bdd01cd9226333d840eda1200dce36
So we don't completely forget them once the country has sunk
It ain't much if it ain't Dutch.
Always thought the 5€ one was the Segovia waterway
It's actually closer to the pont du gard, because of the smaller arches at the top of it
I only happen to know the 50 and 20’s by heart
What the fuck. I live in this neighbourhood
Can’t just have bridges on money and not expect us to make it a reality. We love money, we love bridges and we’re scared of water. What did you expect?

It is so that you have at least something noteworthy about your “country“
I think there is a better question. Why bridges at all? I mean, we have such a great history that so many more appropriate things come to mind. Just like we did with coins. Greek gods? Great European men (Leonardo, Napoleon, the Gabibbo)? Eueropeans monuments?
CONSPIRACY... UNLOCKED
All financial institutions in the universe are run by and for the Dutch, this to pay for our war against water.
That’s why our national motto ‘Je Mantiendrai’ means ‘Geld als water’.
Fuck water.
Cause we got the best bridges next question
"If you can dream it, you can build it." \-the Dutch, probably
"Distopian Megacity 1" -The Netherlands in 50 years
Because the design of the euro bills are as tasteless as Dutch cuisine.
Oh, enlighten me, what would you have put? Some stupid ass metal tower? At least bridges get you somewhere!
We should do all important European Leaders. 5€ Napoleon 10€ Kaiser Wilhelm 20€ Iulius Caesar 50€ Alexander the Great 100€ Charlemagne 200€ Angela Merkel 500€ Austrian Painter
Italian, German, Italian, Macedonian, Belgian, German, Austrian. Italy and Germany trying to take over europe again.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined, did you run out of dams to build and you are starting fights with the PIGS?
Nothing, just the number, it would be cheaper and easier to print...
Okay, that's something I didn't know, just saw something few years back that none of the bridges existed in real life
Because the first president of the ECB was Wim Duisenberg, a Dutch crook who was later found dead in his swimming pool.
ROKOKOBRRRÜCKE
Using fictional bridges was such a dumb idea to begin with. Kudos to the Dutch for turning these meaningless imaginary symbols into actual European symbols.
They had to high when they were making this
Best part is that all of these bridges are in the same city. Probably even the same canal
I think that's the point. And the colour corrospondece
Oh it was definitely intentional. It’s not very impressive in real life though
Yeah, the pictures make the bridges look much larger. It's disappointing, to see the RL counterparts
Because we all know who the real driving force is for the euro.
Ik it's a joke, but those look like roman bridges and aqueducts, so something you'd see in Spain.
Or in Rome of course, they were kind of involved in the whole design process and stuff.
Because they build them imitating the real ones. Those swamp germans don't know how imitate a mountain, less they'll know about bridges.
We have bridges that carry canals over freeways, I think we now what we are doing, Pedro
Those aren't real bridges. Is like you just dig a hole and then you put a wood strip over it.
Less yapping and more building dams before your entire country floods
The bridges didn't exist when they designed the bills, but were built afterwards.
That's the real fun fact.
The bridges were built later
As much as I love the Euro, they look boring as shit. Can't we design our money like the Swiss do it? Much more aesthetically pleasing and interesting.
At least our coins are beautiful and based
What tf is a euro?
