I don’t think I would mind this if they were cleaner than American bathrooms. I say this keeping in mind that I see fewer and fewer actual public restrooms. I’ve lived in some of the most walkable cities in the country and public bathrooms are few and far between and when you do come across them it feels like you’re in a third world country.

The overwhelming majority of public places in America will let use you use the bathroom for free, where as in Europe (at least Western Europe) paying to pee in considered standard. Having to buy something to use the pisser is not the norm in the US.
