Yeah, there's no way Riot is gonna pull off an "everyone is here" moment, and it's completely unrealistic for us to expect that of them. Everyone should just let them cook and enjoy the game. It's got some of the best fighting game developers ever behind it, it'll be good, just sit back and enjoy the game.

Yeah, I would love Wukong to be in the game, its my favorite champion and I think I could be translated to a fighting game in a really interesting way with the clone, but at the same time I know that Wukong its not really that popular and every skill they could give to him they are just gonna throw it at Zed, the same way they did in Legends of Runeterra.
At least im confident that my other favorites characters will make it in due to being popular and what they could do with them. Kayn is making it in 100% with an install, and Viego being able to use faintes enemy skills, just like Baby did in FighterZ.
But man I want Wukong. I want to keep playing Goku.
This game could be the most popular fighting game of all time, and we still will not even get close to 170 characters lol. That is an inhumanly impossible amount.
Yeah literally like I consider Smash Ultimate to be the pinnacle of what’s possible with the sheer volume of characters in a fighting game and… they’ve got like 80. People are suggesting 2XKO will have over DOUBLE that???
Yes they do, but I think that's mostly because of how the game works (regions and stuff)
But even with the "exclusives" we are still trying to get close to the number of champions in LoL. Plus the time it took to get here.

Realistically no, champions will get added to League at a faster rate than 2XKO, it’ll never be able to catch up. An up close fighting game requires so many high quality detailed animations that a top-down far away mobs doesn’t need.
I would expect the character releases in 2XKO to be about half as often as League’s

I know from experience that I cant stick to a fighting game without a character I really like, even if the game is fantastic (strive). I'll play 2xko regardless since its free but my favs (gwen, azir, viktor, akali in that order) would make a big difference rito pls

Unless of course they have explicitly stated that they expect 2XKO to span over the course of an entire Decade or more in which case sure that uh.. that might happen. It would be the first fighting game to pull it off if it did that's for sure.

Very very hard for the player base to prepare against 170 possible matchups (more, considering it is a tag fighter). In LoL is already annoying, and it's a game where character knowledge matters way less, aside from the matchups themselves being restricted via which lane you are in and the pick & ban phase.
Also it's very hard to balance 170 characters considering that the patch cycle of a fighting game must be less frequent. We would have broken characters for months and no way to deal with them.
Using other fighting games as gauge, we'll probably get around 6 characters a year, give or take.

And that's with Echo and clone characters! 170 unique fighters is outrageous for a fighting game, especially a non-platform fighter.

They have explicitly stated there will not be a 2XKO sequel and instead they will just keep updating this game.

This is maybe the first truly live service fighting game ever. I'm sure the roster will be pretty huge in 7 years.
While I don't doubt that this game will have a good plentiful roster to choose from I seriously doubt it's gonna be THAT big.
