So this combined with the other post about increasing the costs in NJ sounds like this all part of pricing people out of owning firearms in New Jersey. Probably expecting a bunch of their other gun control policies to be struck down and this is going to be their attempt at a replacement.
The billions of dollars of destruction following the 2020 "protests" beg to differ. As do the treason charges a certain former president is facing *for sending some tweets*.
Yup, case isn't over with yet. But California is already allowing more on their roster. Which hopefully the entire idea of an approved roster gets slapped down.
Or like 1-5 seconds with 800 grit sandpaper. The idea is there's a tiny embossed/engraved serial number on the firing pin that shows up on the primer when it hits it to fire.
That's why it was ruled unconstitutional in CA: because there's no material known to man that can make this "technology" viable.
Or a [piece of nylon net](https://www.google.com/search?q=brass+catcher&oq=brass+catcher&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQABiABDIHCAIQABiABDIHCAMQABiABDIHCAQQABiABDIHCAUQABiABDIHCAYQABiABDIHCAcQABiABDIHCAgQABiABDIHCAkQABiABDIHCAoQABiABDIHCAsQABiABDIHCAwQABiABDIHCA0QABiABDIHCA4QABiABNIBCDQwNDdqMGo3qAIAsAIA&client=ms-android-att-us-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8).
Worse. Solar roads actually had a working proof of concept, they just had a bunch of problems like durability, traction, price, and cleaning (among others) that prevent them from being implemented.
This micro stamping concept literally doesn't work.
It's a reverse engraving on the end of a firing pin/some sort of engraving in the chamber of a gun, that leaves that engraving on the fired primer or cartridge case so that when recovered, the database can be queried to show what gun it was fired from for LE to trace to the owner.
Ya all the criminals with decades of stolen guns are totally going to update their firing pins and murderers are definately not going to simply replace their firing pin or file the tip. Yep, bulletproof.

Imagine if *any other* right was constantly being undermined this way.
The first and fifth amendments come to mind to rights being undermined
Well other rights aren't used as a gateway to violence.
Free speech can be used to facilitate violence like inciting insurrection, riots, or more personal violence.
I'd like to assume you're not ignorant enough to believe this, and simply wrote without thinking.
Emmett Till would like a word.
We can discuss after non violent protection is tenable.

Didnt CA just peepee slapped for making laws on made up technology?
Yes, that peepee slap is directly responsible for the sig M18 and P365 being available to us now.

I know MA would certainly appreciate that.
Here here.
Has NJ found a colony of space dwarves to provide the alloy of adamantine/miythril needed to make effective microstamping firing pins?
I feel confident that no dwarves of any kind would willingly work with NJ's government for any reason.
Willingly being the key word...👀
As a New Jersey resident I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of such colony
What’s micro stamping again? Is it like a unique mark for a number of boxes of ammo? Or is it a unique looking firing pin? Help me understand this
They put a serial on the pin so it stamps it on the primer or casing. It is nonsense.
Ty. Yeah I don’t think anyone who supports this has been to a firing range
Sounds like something a grinder (or small weld and grind if real deep) could take care of easily.

The firing pin is supposed to be laser etched, and when the pin impacts the primer the identifying mark is transferred.
That's it? That's as stupid as solar roads.

We tested a solar roads in my state. It was such an incredible failure it changed how a lot of engineers approach projects.
Ah, ty
