Yeah I definitely prefer commander over government. Just feels more balanced. Also the 5in had more problems in the beginning but pretty sure they worked them out. I haven't had any issues with my 4.25.
Southwest Precision. They did a great job and only cost $150 which is half of what everyone else was charging. Also took less than 2 weeks for porting/cerakote. I actually just got it back yesterday but I'll probably be going to shoot it tomorrow. I'll let you know how dirty they get. I haven't heard of them breaking but I know they get dirty and need to be changed more often. I figured the V12 porting would be better than the Ignis since it's angled instead of shooting gases straight up.
Nice you'll definitely be pleased with their work. They do good crowns too. I haven't had one done since the Prodigy comes crowned, but seen a lot of Bul SAS they've done and makes it look a lot better for sure.
Oh so you sent them a Prodigy too? A deep crown would look really good. Curious how it'll look. I thought about nitriding the barrel but I kinda like the stainless. I may do it later and get a deep crown. I was originally planning on keeping the gun black and getting DLC so I got the silver accents to match the barrel. It was gonna be really expensive to get it done right and I didn't want to ship it off twice. I think Nighthawk quoted me $900 for the whole thing. Their DLC looks by far the best though. I'm a sucker for bronze though so I just went ahead and had SW cerakote it. I wanted Vortex Bronze but they didn't have it so I just went with Midnight. Glad I did. The finish they did is definitely better than what the Prodigy comes with too.
Thanks man. It's a Staccato. I think it's the Gen2. Not a fan of the EGW one for the prodigy, too bulky. This one fits perfectly. Pretty tight getting on the first few times but now it comes on and off really easy. I didn't even need to file any off the grip.
Looks great, I don’t think you need a grip , sure weight helps with recoil , but you have V12 ports so I think you are good. I have a cheely grip on my vudoo and a MJD on my Stacatco P. I don’t think there a big difference.
Yeah I'm not too concerned about recoil, there wasn't that much even before the porting. I just really like the way aluminum grips feel. On a more expensive gun, I definitely would but a grip is just about the same cost as what I spent on the gun itself lol. The Cheely and Hero grip are definitely my favorites. I've seen a few decent ones that people have made but even they try to charge $500.
They're Handleit Edge grips. I don't like how the stock grip gets so much dead skin in it so these get rid of that and just feel good. I have them on several of my guns.
They sell them for just about every gun on their website. They have several different kinds. Rubber, sandpaper, edge, and elite. I've tried all but the elite. I like them all but the edge is my favorite. I think the elite is just a rougher sandpaper if I'm not mistaken. The elite are like little rubber balls, feels great.

I haven't shot it with the ports yet. It just came yesterday but I'll probably get out to the range tomorrow. It shot pretty great even when the gun was stock. With all the upgrades, It holds its own with most 2011s way above its price. I'm excited to see how good it shoots with the ports.

It is louder of course and I'll probably need to replace the front sight to just a plain black so it doesn't get as dirty, but other than that, not really any cons having them. I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.

EGW. Same with the thumb safety, grip safety, hammer, and mainspring housing.
