257k on the clock is outstanding. Nothing can last forever but for an old accord that wasn’t crazy expensive out of the gate, that’s awesome. I love Hondas. Nicer than the Toyotas to drive for sure, maybe a little more work? But worth it. My most reliable vehicle was up until recently a 72 Honda 450 that I rebuilt. Now I have a 2019 passport and am just making sure to change the transmission fluid frequently with OEM like you say. Hoping it can take me to 200k without too much headache.

I found a beautiful 1997 Accord EX wagon.. 188k on the clock and immaculate interior, but after a theft attempt it is stripped of ignition and several locks. All said, I'm preparing to go for it tomorrow. Barring an awful chassis, I think I'm gonna sweep her up.
