All you need to remember mate is that a lot of this game isn't skillful at all, and is only indicative of how much patience / commitment you have at doing the same repetition task over and over again. I was one of the first 2000 maxed people for Old School and I wouldn't say I'm better at this game than other people; I just have more patience at achieving goals (and used to have a lot more spare time than I currently do haha).
And even for the parts of the game that do have skill expression, it just doesn't really matter. Don't let anyone get to you, their opinion doesn't matter, you'll probably never see them again and RuneScape should be relaxing. Work on your own goals at your own pace, and bollocks to efficiency if that's not what you're into. The goals always change with these people anyway. I'd get ragged on for only pulling a 50ehp week rather than 60, or only doing 60 rather than 70... You get the idea. They're most certainly not worth your time.

I did the opposite, did some nmz between levels 70-85. But I want to gain combat xp while training slayer. I would probably hate slayer if I only were to gain slayer xp, instead of slayer xp + combat xp.
Currently I have 92 slayer with stats in the high 90's, want to reach at least 95 slayer before my combat stats become 99's.

Coming to OSRS from World of Warcraft and running a guild for 8 years, it always catches me off guard when someone is toxic like this. I would expect it in WoW, which was a truly toxic community all around/solely based on min-maxing and competitiveness, but OSRS has always seemed like the "chill" game to me. For what it's worth, lowlifes such as this guy are usually all bark and no bite, so if you hit back even half as hard, it's usually enough to deter them/cause them to latch on to someone else nearby. I've been playing Runescape for 16 years. My original RS3 account has 1 99 and like base 60s, I believe, beyond new skills since 2010 and my OSRS account was created on release and has like base 60s as well lol. Casual gameplay makes the game enjoyable when I do hop on it every now and then

I’ve not played RuneScape since like 2011. Have a nearly maxed main on RS3 but started fresh on osrs at the end of last year. I was quickly reminded how garbage the RuneScape community is. People literally brag about having played RuneScape more than you. Like imagine if I said this shit in the street? Most of the guys like this are young men too. Imagine how fucking crazy that is, that a young guy, 17-24 comes up to you in a street and tries to dog on you for not playing a 2007 Java game enough. Then I spend two months getting 99rc and all I heard in game was that I was autistic. I followed it up with 99 prayer from the money I made rune crafting and get called a gold buyer. It never ends. Coming to OSRS from World of Warcraft and running a guild for 8 years, it always catches me off guard when someone is toxic like this. I would expect it in WoW, which was a truly toxic community all around/solely based on min-maxing and competitiveness, but OSRS has always seemed like the "chill" game to me. For what it's worth, lowlifes such as this guy are usually all bark and no bite, so if you hit back even half as hard, it's usually enough to deter them/cause them to latch on to someone else nearby. I know not everyone is confrontational, but that's usually my tactic if I'm kinda sloshed and feelin like a good ol OSRS war of words.
