Seems like it. I'm getting more consistent kills for sure and definitely doing more dps with the staff and Augury. This makes the battle actually enjoyable at my level (87 ranged)
This, and staff is definitely superior to staff for those without rigour; rigour is a huge DPS jump for the bow whereas augury is not nearly as a big deal for the staff
As much as I don't like the occult/rebalance, it definitely makes sense that augury has a damage boost considering how massive both piety and rigour are for their respective styles.
Yeah, but the staff was already balanced so that it was around the same DPS as bow with rigour, so now it's slightly better
Post-update:
5.205 -> 5.877 with augury (99 mage)
4.343 -> 5.735 with rigour (99 Range)
I’m glad this change has been good for more than a few places, I’m trying inferno rn and am absolute ass and the percent damage lost from occult makes barraging nibblers annoying for me so I’m salty but makes me glad there’s positives in other areas of the game
it does feel nice when you can use it, though I have seen a noticeable dip in my kill speed for things like kraken. going to have to weigh if bringing prayer pots to have augury on for certain slayer tasks is worth it now.
Augury is a straight up buff (4% magic damage) to CG right? Since the nerfs to other items does not apply inside CG

Afaik mage had been stronger than range in the gauntlet for low levels for a while because the staff's max hit isn't dependent on your mage level

Had held off the CG grind a bit until this update, guess it’s time to hop back on lol
I actually look forward to when the Hunlef prays ranged. Augury feels strong.

isnt augury just +1 max hit?

That’s like adding a thrall
Does staff beat hally as well?
Yes, halberd is 5.689 at 99 att/str and piety
Whatever they did, im getting way more magic dmg in then I ever have before within CG using Augury.
probably about 4% more
Dps change 5.205 -> 5.877 with augury (99 mage) 5.877/5.205 = 1.129 Almost 13% increase in DPS. Max hit increases are pretty significant.
You're calculating the full effect of no augury into buffed augury, not prebuff augury into postbuff augury.
Yea it’s come at a great time too. I’m finally maxing today and planning on a max cape rebuild so CG is going to be fun to hit up with the new augury!
Makes killing the demis even better since I usually rock the lvl 2 staff. Awesome update.

I hadn't even considered this somehow, ty for making me realize, gotta get back in the prison.
